Members of <keyword id="4863655" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maratha-organisations">Maratha organisations</keyword> hit the streets in <keyword id="2358003" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="different-parts">different parts</keyword> of Maharashtra on Friday to protest against the inept handling of the issue of quota for the community in jobs and education by <keyword id="9276462" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="the-maha-vikas-aghadi">the Maha Vikas Aghadi</keyword> (MVA) government. In Osmanabad district in central Maharashtra, protesters held a demonstration near the famous Tuljabhavani temple over the quota issue. BJP MP Sambhaji <keyword id="8860" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chhatrapati">Chhatrapati</keyword> also took part in the protest. Another protest was held at Parliin Beed district, also in central Maharashtra. The protesters accused the Shiv Sena-led government of adopting a lackadaisical attitude towards the quota issue. Because of an indifferent attitude by the three-party alliance government, the 2018 quota law was stayed by the Supreme Court, they alleged "We oppose the government going ahead with the police recruitment and Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exams," they said. Maratha groups say these exams should not be conducted till there is a clarity on reservation for candidates from the community in government jobs. Meanwhile, BJP Rajya Sabha MP <keyword id="178535" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Udayanraje-Bhosale">Udayanraje Bhosale</keyword>, the direct descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, supported the demand to postpone the October 11 MPSC exams. In a Facebook post, he said the Maratha Kranti Morcha and student organisations have demanded postponement of the MPSC exams, but the state government is going ahead with the them, which is unfair. "If there is any flare up, the state government will be held responsible," Bhosale said. Early last month, the Supreme Court stayed the implementation of the 2018 Maharashtra law granting reservation to Marathas in education and jobs. It referred to a larger constitution bench the batch of pleas challenging the validity of the law granting reservation to Marathas in education and jobs. On Sensex, only 4 scrips ended their day in the green, while 26 others remained in red. "Happy Diwali and Shubh Samvat 2081. We are going into Samvat 2081 with a consensus that markets will be challenged and will mean revert, leading to an underpowered year coming up. Predictions are at best intelligent guesstimates, so we will refrain from that. So far this month, FIIs have offloaded a staggering Rs 1,08,632.59 crore worth of stocks in <keyword id="19991358" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-markets" source="keywords">Indian markets</keyword>. DIIs, on the other hand, purchased Rs 1,03,740.09 crore worth of stocks during the month. Rajesh Bhosale, Equity Technical Analyst, Angel One, explained that as October concluded, it marked a challenging month for bulls, erasing gains accumulated over the past two months, with Nifty dropping more than 6%, one of the steepest monthly declines in recent times, which has impacted the monthly chart's structure. "Throughout the week, the 24,100–24,000 zone provided some support due to oversold conditions, but the index faced persistent resistance on attempted rebounds. Despite multiple efforts, prices couldn’t surpass the 24,500 level. A strong close above this range is needed before considering aggressive positions, as the market seems poised for a phase of high volatility, he continued. "The banking sector, which has shown relative strength but stalled at key levels, will be crucial in determining the market’s next move. Traders should keep a close eye on this sector for guidance. Notably, the week saw improved market breadth with several individual stocks posting notable gains. However, a selective approach remains essential in this volatile environment", continued Bhosale. The immediate focus is on the core personal consumption expenditures (PCE) data due later in the day to assess the Fed's policy stance ahead of the next rate decision on Nov 7. Traders see a nearly 95% chance of a quarter-basis-point Fed rate cut next week, the CME FedWatch tool showed.

Nifty and Sensex end this Diwali in red, muhurat trading to take place tomorrow

Amidst the constituents of Nifty50, only 3 stocks advanced today, while 47 others saw declines. Aditya Gaggar, Director of Progressive Shares, highlights that almost all the sectors ended in the red, with PSU Banks and Realty being the major laggards. "The weak link of the markets, i.e., mid- and small-caps, tumbled by 2.61% and 3.92% and underperformed the frontline index. Considering the oversold conditions in the mid- and small-cap segments, a short-term bounce can be expected in the markets, which may push the index higher, but the upside seems to be capped at 24,670". Rajesh Bhosale, equity technical analyst at Angel One, cautions traders against taking long positions until there are clear signs of a bullish reversal. "The midcap space, in particular, saw a sharp decline, breaking below key support levels, signaling more pain ahead—bottom-fishing in this sector should be avoided for now," he added. Investor wealth worth Rs 8.98 lakh crore was wiped off the markets today, with the BSE m-cap dipping from Rs 453.65 lakh crore yesterday to Rs 444.66 crore today. Broader mid- and small-cap indices saw their worst losses since August, riding on the back of disappointing earnings and cautious management guidance for the upcoming quarters. As such, hefty profit-booking ensued to make the most of still elevated valuations. <h2>FIIs on a heavy selling spree</h2> The massacre in the markets comes amidst heavy offloading of stakes by FIIs (<keyword id="19932515" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="foreign-institutional-investors" source="keywords">foreign institutional investors</keyword>). Data suggests so far this month, FIIs have offloaded a staggering Rs 82,479.73 crore in Indian markets. DIIs (<keyword id="20234284" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="domestic-institutional-investors" source="keywords">domestic institutional investors</keyword>) have been trying to maintain some semblance and balance in the markets, having bought 77,402.11 crore worth of assets in the Indian markets. However, that has proved insufficient for maintaining the positive momentum of the markets. The last time Indian markets had witnessed such intense selling was in 2021–22, i.e., during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Data from NSDL suggests that during this period, FPIs had sold Rs 1,22,242 crore worth of assets in the Indian markets. Gaurav Garg, Research Analyst at Lemonn Markets Desk, highlights that mid- and small-caps bore the brunt of earnings disappointments, as these are also the segments most stretched on many valuation metrics. "Growth slowdown concerns, along with uncertainty on rate cut timing, act as a double whammy for equity markets, especially after recent inflation data surprised sharply to the upside," he added. Looking ahead, the markets will continue to focus on the earnings announcements. Investors will look to the RBI's monetary policy meeting minutes tomorrow and the HSBC Manufacturing, Services, and Composite PMI data on Thursday for further signals to act upon.

Out of the 2,813 stocks traded during the day, 1,031 stocks saw advances, while 1,703 saw declines, and another 79 remained unchanged. 72 stocks hit their 52-week high price, while 51 stocks also hit their 52-week low price today. 108 stocks hit the upper circuit, or maximum permissible price in a single trading session, while 131 stocks remained in the lower circuit. All broad market indices closed the day in red. India VIX dipped 7.97%, and amidst sectoral indices, financial services and PSU banks dropped over 1% each at the close of day's trade. With the exception of FMCG, IT, media, metal and realty, which managed marginal gains, all other sectors closed in the reds. Aditya Gaggar, director of Progressive Shares explains that although a strong opening reaching higher levels was seen in the opening trade; the index failed to hold its gains and gradually erased it. In the 2nd half of trading, selling pressure intensified, and the index wiped off all its gains to end the session at 23,992.55 with a loss of 63.05 points. "A mixed trend was seen across the board, where realty and IT were the top gainers, while PSU Banks corrected the most, followed by auto. From the broader markets, midcaps and small caps corrected by 0.61% &amp; 0.39% respectively, and underperformed the frontline index. The near-term outlook for Nifty50 turned bearish, unless it gives a convincing move above 24,400 while on the downside, 23,880 will be considered as immediate support", Gaggar continued. Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities noted that while today, the markets opened higher due to positive Asian markets, they failed to sustain these levels and closed at the day's lowest point. "Although the market did not break the previous day's lows, it closed below the closing of the previous day. Apart from Nifty realty, metal, and IT, other indices closed in the red. Based on the short-term market structure, the trend-setting levels are 23,900/78,290. If the market falls below this, it may decline to 23,700 or 23,600/78,000-77,800, where it has support from retracements and long-term averages. It's advisable to consider selective buying around this level. On the upside, the major resistance levels are 24,150/79,000 and 24,400/79,700. It's recommended to reduce weak long positions around 24,300/24,400", he said. Rajesh Bhosale, Equity Technical Analyst, Angel One highlighted that the momentum favored the bears, and that the possibility of intermittent rebounds cannot be ruled out. "Therefore, any such bounces, similar to today, should ideally be viewed as selling opportunities. As for key levels, 24,250 appears to be immediate resistance, while the 24,350 - 24,400 range remains a challenging barrier for the bulls. Only a close above this range could potentially revive some positive momentum in the market. On the downside, immediate support is seen at 23,900 - 23,850, below which the Nifty may slip towards the 23,600 - 23,550 levels. Traders are advised to monitor these levels closely and adjust their trades accordingly, while also keeping an eye on global developments, as our markets are particularly influenced by global momentum", Bhosale continued. On the global front, oil prices rose by over 1% today, bouncing back from yesterday's losses, due to supply concerns stemming from the escalating Middle East conflict and strong U.S. services data. However, the fear of Iran retaliating against recent attacks in the region has increased fears of a broader war, threatening global supply stability and impacting oil forecasts. Furthermore, the US ISM Services PMI for July came in at 51.4, slightly above the month's forecast (51) and higher than June's reading (48.8). This is a positive sign, since it indicates a rebound in services sector, improvement in business activities, new orders and employment across industries like finance, healthcare and more. "With the Federal Reserve’s interest rate strategy under scrutiny, any positive US economic data could support the case for rate cuts", continued Chouhan. In response, global indices were seen trading in green. Nikkei 225 in particular, which had dropped around 12.4% yesterday, witnessing its worst crash since 1987, sharply rebounded about 3,217.04 points, or 10.23% to close at 34,675.46 points.

Amidst sectoral indices, bank, financial services, metal, private banks, oil and gas and PSU banks closed the day in red, shedding over 1% each, while consumer durables gained over 1%, along with healthcare and IT, which also notched up marginal gains. Says Rajesh Bhosale, Equity Technical Analyst, Angel One, "Today, prices steadily declined throughout the session, and the sell-off intensified in the afternoon with no signs of a rebound. Eventually, Nifty ended down by 0.83%, a tad below the 24,150 mark". With the upcoming weekly expiry for both Nifty and Bank Nifty, increased <keyword id="19908008" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="volatility" source="keywords">volatility</keyword> is expected. Traders should avoid complacency, keep positions light, and prepare for potential market fluctuations ahead of the mid-week holiday. Conversely, the 24,350 - 24,500 range remains a critical hurdle only beyond which the momentum would favor back for the bulls. Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities is of the view that the intraday texture of the market is weak but 50 day SMA (Simple Moving Average) or 24,000/78,800 would be the trend decider level for the day traders. Above 24,000/78,800, we could see one pullback rally till 24,250-24,300 / 79,500-79,700. On the flip side, below 24,000/78,800 selling pressure is likely to accelerate. Below the same, the market could slip up to 23,850-23,775 / 78,500-78,100. Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd highlights that the markets continued their downward trend today, losing nearly a percent as the correction phase persisted. Despite a flat start, the Nifty gradually declined, closing near the day's low at 24,140.70. "The pressure was primarily due to a drop in banking and financial heavyweights, while IT majors attempted to limit the losses. Broader indices also struggled, with declines ranging from 0.8% to 1.3%. Nifty is under pressure after failing to surpass the 20-day EMA resistance and appears poised to retest the 24,000 support zone. The decline in banking majors has disrupted the recovery, while other sectors are trading mixed. We recommend monitoring leveraged positions closely and waiting for clearer market signals", said Mishra.

Most stocks closed the day in the red, with Tata Motors dipping by 7.40%, ONGC tanking by 6.39%, and Adani Ports, Tata Steel and Hindalco dipping by over 5% each. Out of the 2,856 stocks traded during the day, only 331 saw advances, while 2,451 declined. While 76 stocks hit their 52-week high prices, 61 stocks also hit their 52-week low. 61 stocks remained in the upper circuit during the day, while 319 stocks hit the lower circuit during today's <keyword id="20071759" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="trading-session" source="keywords">trading session</keyword>. Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd noted that markets plunged sharply today, losing over 2.5% due to weak global cues. All key sectors declined in line with the benchmark, with realty, metal, and energy being the top losers. The broader indices also suffered, losing between 3.6% and 4.6%. While Nifty Small cap 100 dipped by 4.57%, midcap 100 slipped by 3.55%. Nifty micro cap dipped by 4.49%. "Going forward, we may see continued volatile swings with a negative bias due to multiple global headwinds, including the unwinding of <keyword id="20079828" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="yen" source="keywords">Yen</keyword> carry trades, recession fears in the US, and escalating tensions in the Middle East. On the index front, we are eyeing the 23,250-23,400 zone as key support for Nifty, while the 24,500-24,700 zone will act as resistance in the event of a rebound. Traders should align their positions accordingly and prefer a hedged approach. Investors, on the other hand, should view this correction as an opportunity to accumulate quality stocks on dip", Mishra continued. Aditya Gaggar, director of Progressive Shares that while Nifty50 managed to defend its psychological support of 24,000 and ended the session at 24,055.60 with a loss of 662.10 points, all the sectors ended the day in red with metal and media being the underperformers. "Broader markets have witnessed a steeper correction as mid and small caps corrected by 3.55% &amp; 4.57% respectively. With a major bearish gap zone, the Index has formed a big red candle which clearly indicates the control of the bears. In the lower time frame, an extremely oversold condition was observed, and thus, a short-term pullback is warranted. The immediate support is placed at 23,860 while on the higher side, 24,250 will be considered a hurdle", continued Gaggar. Amidst broad market indices, India VIX climbed up a staggering 42.23% during the day, while all mid caps and small cap indices shed between 2-4% today. While all sectoral indices closed the day in red, only FMCG managed to contain its losses by dipping only 0.32%, PSU bank (down by 4.09%), media (down by 4.58%) and metal (down by 4.85%) were the leading laggards. Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities highlighted that amongst global macros, oil prices remained near eight-month lows today, as recession fears in the United States, the world's largest oil consumer, outweighed concerns that rising tensions in the Middle East might disrupt supplies from the key production region. "Recent US economic data presented a mixed outlook. Average hourly earnings increased by 0.2%, slightly below the expected 0.3%. Non-farm payrolls rose by just 1,14,000, significantly below the anticipated 1,76,000, and the unemployment rate increased to 4.3%, the highest since November 2021. In this context, the upcoming Fed commentary will be crucial for driving the market sentiment", he said. "However, the current market texture is weak and volatile but due to temporary oversold conditions, we could expect one intraday pullback rally. For the day traders now, 24,000/78,500 would be the immediate reference point. Above the same, we could expect intraday pullback up to 24,150-24,250/79,000-79,300. On the flip side, below 24,000/78,500 the selling pressure is likely accelerate. Below the same, it could retest the level of 23,900/78,300. Further down side may also continue which could drag the index till 23,800/78,000", noted Chouhan. Rajesh Bhosale, Equity Technical Analyst, Angel One advises traders to avoid attempting to catch the bottom in the short term and should use any rebounds to reduce long positions. "One of the key highlights of the day was India VIX spiked by 42% to surpass the 20 mark, expect the Volatility to remain on the higher side, so it is advisable to manage risk carefully and stay informed about global developments, as they are likely to influence our markets in the near term", he explained.

"We have been fortunate enough to have Mr Ratan Tata as our initial investor. Last fiscal year we did business of Rs 65 crore. Our business has been growing multifold. This fiscal we expect our top line to be around Rs 185 crore," Walunj said. She said that the company's fuel distribution platform is mainly built around the delivery of diesel but it is now adding new fuels to the platforms to make it available at the doorsteps of end consumers with the help of technology. "Like ATMs, we are providing mobile fuel stations. It is helpful for enterprises to get fuel at the doorstep, check fuel theft, monitor fuel consumption etc. We are now present in 280 cities across India where we have deployed over 2,000 mobile fuel stations. Now we are in the process of raising Rs 300 crore which we will use to further expand our presence and develop technology for the distribution of carbon neutral fuels," Walunj said. While the <keyword id="115374" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Higher-Secondary-Certificate">Higher Secondary Certificate</keyword> (HSC) <keyword id="50799" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Exam">exam</keyword> will be conducted between April 23 and May 21, the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam will be held between April 29 and May 20, Ashok Bhosale, secretary of the <keyword id="480748" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maharashtra-State-Board-of-Secondary">Maharashtra State Board of Secondary</keyword> and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) said. These board exams are usually held in February and March, but this year their schedule has been changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "We had announced the proposed dates of the examinations on February 16 and invited suggestions from the stakeholders. After due consultation with them, we have fixed this final schedule of the exams," Bhosale said.
