Bangalore Airport cargo witnessed a substantial increase in rose shipments in the run-up to <keyword id="6426726" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="valentine" source="Orion">Valentine</keyword>'s Day this year. The season of roses at BLR Airport brought cheer once again with a 14 per cent increase in rose shipments processed compared to last year. As per the airport spokesperson, Valentine's week kept <keyword id="16541242" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="blr-cargo" source="Orion">BLR Cargo</keyword> busy as 17.4 million rose stems (589,296 kg) were processed. Top international destinations to receive these Indian roses were Kuala Lumpur, <keyword id="6356662" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="singapore" source="Orion">Singapore</keyword>, Kuwait, Manila, Auckland, New York, Lebanon, Maldives, Jordan and Dubai. BLR Cargo sent roses to a total of 15 global destinations. On the domestic front, 6.6 million rose stems (178,200 kg) were processed which is a 31 per cent increase compared to last year. Top Indian cities to receive the Valentine's week consignment were Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, <keyword id="35727" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="guwahati" source="Orion">Guwahati</keyword>, <keyword id="16541244" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bagdogra-ahmedabad" source="Orion">Bagdogra, Ahmedabad,</keyword> Kochi, Darbhanga, Chandigarh and Patna which are among 34 domestic destinations, said the spokesperson. Love is in the air, rose shipments at Bangalore airport went up 14% on V-day

A day after <keyword id="1583080" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="AirAsia-India">AirAsia India</keyword> got the nod of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, <keyword id="1878233" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-SIA-Airlines">Tata SIA Airlines</keyword>, the 51:49 joint venture between <keyword id="46894" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Tata-Sons">Tata Sons</keyword> and <keyword id="6368386" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Singapore-Airlines">Singapore Airlines</keyword>, has come out with its tentative route network for the first four years. 
 <keyword id="6354787" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="DGCA">DGCA</keyword> has invited public feedback on the proposed carrier's application and has also made public the airline’s tentative route and operations. Tata SIA’s application says that the airline proposes to commence operations by September 1 this year. 
 
Tata SIA plans to function from Delhi, which will be its operational hub, and will operate across Mumbai, Goa, Patna, Chandigarh, Srinagar, Hyderabad and Bangalore in its first year. It is expected to begin with two flights a day to Mumbai, with one flight going onwards to Goa. The first phase will also have two flights a day to Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad. 
 
Besides the metros, the airline will operate one flight a day to Srinagar, Patna, Chandigarh and Jammu. The airline plans to expand aggressively and it will be adding cities like Chennai, Pune, Lucknow, Varanasi, Jaipur, Kolkata, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Indore and Cochin within the first four years. 
 
As per the proposed plan, the Delhi-Mumbai route will be the focal point of its operations and it is expected to have 49 weekly flights (or seven daily flights) by 2018. 
 
The application also says that the airline will use the existing variant of the Airbus A320, as well as the NEO or the new engine option of the Airbus A320, which is more fuel-efficient.

Network; To Focus On Delhi-Mumbai Segment

Mumbai, Mar 26 () Budget carrier GoAir on Thursday said its all services, including international flights, will remain suspended till April 14 due to the 21-day lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic. The nationwide lockdown is to remain into effect till April 14. The central government has suspended all domestic and international flight operations in India to curb the spread of coronavirus. "GoAir is fully supportive of the initiatives announced by our Prime Minister (Narendra Modi). The airline fully respects the decisive steps being taken by our PM followed by various state and local governments to arrest the spread of COVID-19. "Although these steps will stop air travel until April 14 and impact the very purpose of GoAir's existence, they are essential for the health of our customers, our employees and our nation. Thus, GoAir has temporarily suspended all its flights until April 14," the airline said in a release. The destinations to and from where the flights have been suspended till April 14 are Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Kannur, Leh, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Ranchi, Srinagar and Varanasi, as well as international destinations namely Phuket, Male, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bangkok, Kuwait, and Dammam. As soon as the situation improves and the government revokes the lockdown, GoAir will start operating its network to the fullest extent, it added. It also said GoAir will protect all the PNRs (passenger reservation numbers) for customers who booked themselves to travel between March 26 and April 14 as part of the 'Protect Your PNR' scheme, wherein customers can reschedule their flights up to April 15, 2021, using the same PNR. Customers can redeem their tickets (booked between March 1, 2020, and April 15, 2020) on any GoAir flight on any date between April 15, 2020, and April 15, 2021, with no charges being levied (fare difference may be applicable), it said. New Delhi, Jul 6 () A passenger planning to travel on a Vistara flight will soon be able to book the adjacent seat as well at a discounted rate so as to keep it vacant, said its Chief Commercial Officer Vinod Kannan on Monday. This statement came after Vistara released a survey on Monday that stated 24 per cent passengers were worried that fellow flyers would not adhere to coronavirus-related health protocols while flying. Kannan told reporters the airline has sent out a note to travel agents informing that currently, passengers can book the adjacent seat, in order to keep it vacant, at the same price. However, he added, "We are looking to provide this on the online scenario and also provide some kind of incentive by discounts. That is something that is in the works." Kannan said the occupancy rate in Vistara flights has been on an average between 50 to 60 per cent since the domestic passenger services resumed on May 25. Scheduled international passenger flights continue to remain suspended in India. A total of 65 per cent of its customers are planning to take their next flight within the next six months, said the survey released by Vistara on Monday. According to the survey, business travel emerged to be the biggest reason for them to travel, with 35 per cent of the respondents indicating so, while 25 per cent of the respondents expected to travel to visit friends and relatives. The survey found Singapore, Dubai and the UK as the top three destinations for customers wanting to take their first international flight. Around 6,000 Vistara customers participated in this survey. When it comes to concerns related to flying, 31 per cent of the customers expressed fear of exposure to coronavirus during the journey, 24 per cent were worried that fellow passengers would not adhere to health protocols and 15 per cent were concerned about high fares. India resumed its domestic passenger flights from May 25 after a gap of two months due to the coronavirus-triggered lockdown. However, the Centre has permitted airlines to operate maximum 45 per cent of their pre-COVID flights. Also, it has imposed upper and lower limits on airfares. When asked by when would Vistara be able to operate 45 per cent of its capacity, Kannan said, "It is a function of when we see cases tapering, when we see different state governments relaxing some of their constraints...I think it will take some time to reach the 45 per cent (mark)." He was talking about the restrictions various state governments have put on their airports on the number of flights they can handle per day. For example, between May 25 and July 5, the Kolkata airport and the Bagdogra airport were permitted to operate 20 flights per day each. However, with the West Bengal government seeing a steep rise in COVID-19 cases, the Kolkata airport announced last Saturday that no passenger flights will operate to Kolkata from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Nagpur and Ahmedabad between July 6 and July 19.
