Electric two-wheeler makers <keyword id="108831" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tvs-motor-company" source="Orion">TVS Motor Company</keyword>, Ather Energy and <keyword id="4393078" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="ola-electric" source="Orion">Ola Electric</keyword> have increased prices of their products as curtailed subsidy structure comes into effect from June 1. In a statement, TVS Motor Company stated that in order to propel the electrification journey further in a sustainable manner after <keyword id="21028" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="fame" source="Orion">FAME</keyword> II scheme revision, it has increased iQube's price between Rs 17,000 and Rs 22,000 depending on the variant. The iQube base and S trims were earlier priced at Rs 1,06,384 and Rs 1,16,886, respectively in Delhi. "FAME II will gradually reduce over the next few quarters. The company will continue to deliver delightful product options and great value proposition to propel the electrification and green energy penetration in two-wheelers in the country," TVS Motor Company Director and CEO K N Radhakrishnan said. The company will offer a loyalty benefit programme for the customers of iQube, who have made bookings till May 20, 2023, for a limited period to ease the cost burden post the revision in FAME II subsidy, he added. Ather Energy said that following the FAME II subsidy revision applicable from today, it has also revised the prices of its scooters with 450X now starting at Rs 1,45,000 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). The 450X with <keyword id="17580517" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="pro-pack" source="Orion">Pro Pack</keyword> now starts at Rs 1,65,435 in Bengaluru, an increase of around Rs 8,000. "The FAME II revision has resulted in a subsidy reduction of around Rs 32,000. In a statement, Hero Electric said that it will not increase the prices of its popular e-scooter models. The company said it remains dedicated to promoting the adoption of electric two-wheelers and dispelling misconceptions about their cost of ownership. "Despite the extreme financial crunch forced upon us due to subsidies stuck with Ministry of Heavy Industries for over 15 months, we will continue to do our bit in offering affordable mobility solutions to the discerning customers by holding on to our current prices till we can," said Hero Electric CEO Sohinder Gill. The Heavy Industries Ministry has notified that for electric two-wheelers, the demand incentive will be Rs 10,000 per kWh. The cap on incentives for electric two-wheelers will be 15 per cent of the ex-factory price of vehicles from 40 per cent at present. <keyword id="19894886" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="china" source="keywords">China</keyword>'s top drug regulator has cleared a mpox vaccine developed by local drug firm Sinopharm for clinical trials which could be the country's first experimental dose to battle the deadly disease. The domestic vaccine candidate, created by the Shanghai Institute of Biological Products and administered by Sinopharm, is expected to play an important role in preventing and controlling mpox infections, the company said in a statement released on Monday afternoon. There is currently no approved mpox vaccine in China. Globally, a few vaccines have been approved in the United States, Canada, the European Union, Japan and Russia. In China, a vaccine candidate typically goes through three phases of clinical trials before gaining market approval. The process can take years, even decades. However, the National Medical Products Administration, China's top drug regulator, has launched a number of accelerated or streamlined channels to facilitate applications of novel drugs and vaccines or those in urgent need, state-run China Daily reported on Tuesday. According to the company, the new vaccine is a replication-deficient vaccine based on a strain called MVA. The description is the same as <keyword id="22925756" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jynneos" source="keywords">Jynneos</keyword>, the world's first mpox vaccine approved by the <keyword id="20256595" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="food-and-drug-administration" source="keywords">Food and Drug Administration</keyword> in the United States in 2019. Previously, in July 2022, the WHO declared a global emergency but then lifted it in May last year because of a sustained decline in international cases. So far, more than 120 countries and regions across the world have reported more than 100,000 confirmed infections and 226 related deaths. China reported its first imported case in September 2022 and the first domestic case in June last year. By the end of July, the nation had reported 2,567 confirmed cases, according to the China Daily report. China's drug regulator clears mpox vaccine; to undergo clinical trial

He also thanked the industry for the decision to provide a 3 percent discount for vehicle owners for scrapping their vehicles, adding that the cost of components can be reduced by 20-40 per cent due to the move. Gadkari urged the industry to establish their own scrappage centres. In his remarks, Gadkari said, "The automobile industry plays a pivotal role in realizing the Prime Minister's vision of transforming India into a 5 trillion-dollar economy and elevating it to the third largest economy globally.
