<keyword id="10336110" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="adani-total-gas" source="Orion">Adani Total Gas</keyword> Ltd (<keyword id="12300749" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="atgl" source="Orion">ATGL</keyword>), a joint venture between Adani Group and <keyword id="11344358" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="totalenergies" source="Orion">TotalEnergies</keyword>, said on Monday that it has won licences to expand its City Gas Distribution (CGD) network to 14 new 'Geographical Areas'. The company won the licences in the recently concluded 11th round of CGD bidding by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board. With an increasing basket of products and services in the clean energy sector, the city gas distribution company will invest Rs 12,000 crore in these additional locations. With the fresh investment, the company's total commitment in the clean energy sector will go up to Rs 20,000 crore. "ATGL is committed to provide convenient and environment-friendly natural gas for cooking and water heating to more than nine million households, and economic transport fuel for vehicles by establishing around 2,000 CNG stations, and clean fuel to industrial and commercial consumers," it said. The city gas distribution company at present caters to 52 geographical areas, covering 124 districts across 18 states and 3 UTs. "ATGL will now cater to 10 per cent of the country's population with cleaner fuel for households as well as for transportation. Therefore, ATGL is fully committed to play a pivotal role in meeting the clean energy needs of India, and this strategic expansion is fully aligned with our commitment of nation building," said Suresh Manglani, CEO, Adani Total Gas. Adani Total Gas to invest ₹12,000 crore to expand its city gas network

<ul><li>Accounts of three foreign funds with over ₹43,000 crore in Adani Group shares suspended</li><li>Market regulator SEBI is also reportedly investigating if the Adani Group companies’ share price has been manipulated.</li><li>Shares of all the six listed Adani Group companies hit their respective lower circuits in the first hour of trading.</li></ul>Shares of all the six Adani Group companies listed on the Indian stock exchanges hit lower circuits in the opening session today morning (June 14). Adani Ports and Adani Transmission share prices were down by 15% each, while those of the other four companies were down by 5% each. The downward spiral in the share price of these companies has wiped out over $7.6 billion (approx. ₹55,000 crore) net worth of <keyword id="111343" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gautam-Adani">Gautam Adani</keyword>, according to Forbes’ real-time billionaires <a href="https://www.forbes.com/real-time-billionaires">list</a>, as of 10:00 a.m., on Monday. The meltdown was triggered by reports that the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) suspended the accounts of three foreign funds ⁠— all reportedly based out of the same address ⁠— that have over ₹43,000 crore invested in the Adani Group. The three accounts in question are Albula Investment Fund, Cresta Fund and APMS Investment Fund. Notably, the accounts were suspended on or before May 31. According to an Economic Times <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/markets/stocks/news/a/cs-of-3-fpis-owning-adani-shares-frozen/articleshow/83496483.cms">report</a>, the suspension could be due to insufficient disclosures under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The funds had time till 2020 to disclose details on common ownership and personal details of key employees. But they didn’t. “Custodians typically warn their clients before such action but if the fund doesn’t respond or fails to comply, accounts can be frozen,” the report added, quoting an unnamed source. The rules for Indian funds investing in the stock market do not allow managers to invest in any one stock or group beyond a certain limit. But the same rule does not apply for foreign portfolio investors. One, the funds hoarding Adani group shares to reduce the number of the tradable shares in the market. And, therefore, allowing the value of the shares to inflate. This is the first public appearance from the Adani family in the country since a damning report by a US short-seller caused a USD 140 billion rout in shares of the group's listed companies. Senior Adani was a notable absentee at a similar investor summit organised by the Uttar Pradesh government in Lucknow last month. Gautam Adani had attended the previous UP investor summit. Karan Adani said currently, Adani Group operates the two largest private ports in Andhra Pradesh - Krishnapatnam and Gangavaram, with a total capacity of 100 million tonnes per annum. "In the next 5 years, not only do we aim to double this capacity, but also transform these ports into industrial port cities," he said. "By developing industrial clusters at Krishnapatnam and Gangavaram and attracting industries, we will be able to reduce the logistics costs drastically, thus making these industries far more competitive globally." The group is also developing 15,000 MW of renewable power projects over the next few years across five districts of Anantapur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram. "Our other investments in the state include cement manufacturing units and data centres. Presently we do not have any cement manufacturing capacity in Andhra Pradesh. Hence, as part of our expansion plans, we will be setting up cement plants in Kadapa and Nadikudi with a total capacity of 10 million tonnes per annum," he said. Also, the group is working on developing a 400 MW of data centre in Visakhapatnam. "These projects will bring further employment opportunities and demonstrate our commitment to the sustainable growth of the state of Andhra Pradesh," he said. He praised Andhra Pradesh for its "excellent infrastructure, large manufacturing base, talented youth, and business-friendly environment." With the second longest coastline in India, the state has been recognised by the World Bank as the No.1 implementer of energy efficiency and conservation programmes. Turning to CSR work being done by Adani Foundation, he said "our footprint in the state of Andhra Pradesh is getting bigger as I speak on this occasion." "We are investing in education, healthcare, nutrition, access to potable water, sports and building an ecosystem of skilling and sustainable livelihood in the state. Our teams are executing programs in Nellore, Tirupati, and Visakhapatnam districts. At present, we have invested over Rs 4200 crore and are touching over 180,000 lives and counting, in the state," he added. Its social intervention and outreach programs across 74 villages include education programs that span across schools, 32 evening education centres with scholarship programs and the distribution of education kits. Adani to set up cement plants, data centre in Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi, Jun 9 () After French energy major Total SA, more foreign investors have shown interest in partnering Adani group in its renewable energy business, its chairman Gautam Adani said on Tuesday. In April, Total invested around Rs 3,707 crore for 50 per cent partnership with Adani Green Energy for a joint venture that will house 2.148 gigawatts (GW) of operating solar power projects across 11 states in India. "We have headroom for diluting 10-15 per cent stake in Adani Green Energy," he said on a call to announce Adani Green Energy winning the world's largest solar order to build 8 GW of photovoltaic (PV) power plant along with a domestic solar panel manufacturing unit at an investment of Rs 45,000 crore. Total, he said, is "very much interested" in expanding partnership with Adani. Promoters holds 75 per cent of Adani Green Energy and can dilute 10-15 per cent, he said. Foreign investors are interested in investing in renewable energy in India with local partners, he said. "Couple of more partners are also talking to us (for Adani Green Energy)," he said without giving details. Adani Green, which is the clean energy arm of the conglomerate, aims to scale up capacity to 25 GW by 2025. With the latest contract, its portfolio has grown to 15 GW and the firm hopes to win contracts for another 10 GW this year, he said. The Adani group has committed to invest over 70 per cent of its budgeted capex into clean energy and energy-efficient systems so as to become the largest solar player in the world by 2025 and the largest renewable player in the world by 2030. Adani said the Rs 45,000 crore or USD 6 billion investment in the 8 GW solar projects and 2 GW of solar panel manufacturing units will be funded through a combination of debt and equity. He expressed confidence of procuring debt for the project over the next five years. "Adani Green Energy is the only renewable company outside of OECD countries which enjoys credit rating equal to the sovereign," he said adding the company was well-equipped to fund the projects. Adani says enough room to dilute 10-15% stake in Adani Green Energy

New Delhi, Dec 11 () Qatar Investment Authority has agreed to buy a 25.1 per cent stake in Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd - the firm that distributes power to three million consumers in Mumbai - for Rs 3,200 crore.
 Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd is a part of Adani Transmission Ltd, while Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) is the sovereign wealth fund of the Qatar.
 "Adani Transmission Limited (ATL), Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML) and a subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) have signed definitive agreements for the sale of a 25.1 per cent stake in AEML to QIA and for a shareholder subordinated debt investment by QIA in AEML.
 "The total QIA investment in AEML will be approximately Rs 3,200 crore," a company statement said.
 AEML is the licensee for an integrated power distribution, transmission and generation business that currently serves more than three million consumers across a license area of about 400 square kilometers in Mumbai.
 Its market share of Mumbai is close to 87 per cent by license area, 67 per cent by consumers served and 55 per cent by electricity supplied.
 "As part of the transaction, ATL and QIA have agreed definitive plans to ensure that over 30 per cent of the electricity supplied by AEML is sourced from solar and wind power plants by the year 2023," the statement said.
 "In addition, ATL and QIA have agreed a number of other green initiatives to combat climate change and facilitate the transition to a sustainable, low carbon economy."
 Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said his company together with Qatar Investment Authority will work towards improving the reliability of supply and consumer satisfaction.
 "We believe this transaction is a significant step in the journey of the Adani Group, marking the start of a long term partnership with QIA," he said.
 QIA Chief Executive Officer Mansoor Al-Mahmoud said: "We look forward to a long term partnership with the Adani Group, with whom we share an inter-generational perspective on investments and a common vision for the sustainable growth and continued success of AEML".
 Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited said it serves over three million consumers spread across 400 sq km in Mumbai and its suburbs meeting close to 2,000 MW of power demand with 99.99 per cent reliability.
 Adani Transmission Ltd is the transmission and distribution business arm of the Adani Group with a cumulative transmission network of around 14,738 circut km, out of which 11,477 ckt km is operational and 3,261 ckt km is at various stages of construction.
 Al-Mahmoud further said "this investment demonstrates our confidence in India, with whom Qatar shares deep-rooted ties and excellent relations."
 The deal is expected to complete in early 2020 subject to receipt of regulatory approvals and satisfaction of customary conditions precedent.

Qatar sovereign wealth fund QIA buys 25.1 pc stake in Adani Electricity Mumbai for Rs 3,200 cr

New Delhi, Feb 11 () Adani Transmission on Tuesday said it has sold 25.1 per cent stake in its arm Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML) to Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) for approximately Rs 3,220 crore. "Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) has completed acquisition of 25.10 per cent stake in Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML) from ATL (Adani Transmission Ltd) along with an investment in shareholder subordinated debt in AEML on 10 February, 2020," the transmission and distribution business arm of the Adani Group said in a filing to BSE. The total QIA investment in AEML is approximately Rs 3,220 crore, which includes equity consideration of approximately Rs 1,210 crore and shareholder subordinated debt of approximately Rs 2,010 crore, the filing said. The definitive agreements for the transaction were signed on December 11, 2019, and all the requisite approvals were received subsequently. AEML has recently completed an investment grade, USD 1 billion bond issuance, the first by a private integrated utility from India.
