<keyword id="10336110" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="adani-total-gas" source="Orion">Adani Total Gas</keyword> Ltd (<keyword id="12300749" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="atgl" source="Orion">ATGL</keyword>), a joint venture between Adani Group and <keyword id="11344358" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="totalenergies" source="Orion">TotalEnergies</keyword>, said on Monday that it has won licences to expand its City Gas Distribution (CGD) network to 14 new 'Geographical Areas'. The company won the licences in the recently concluded 11th round of CGD bidding by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board. With an increasing basket of products and services in the clean energy sector, the city gas distribution company will invest Rs 12,000 crore in these additional locations. With the fresh investment, the company's total commitment in the clean energy sector will go up to Rs 20,000 crore. "ATGL is committed to provide convenient and environment-friendly natural gas for cooking and water heating to more than nine million households, and economic transport fuel for vehicles by establishing around 2,000 CNG stations, and clean fuel to industrial and commercial consumers," it said. The city gas distribution company at present caters to 52 geographical areas, covering 124 districts across 18 states and 3 UTs. "ATGL will now cater to 10 per cent of the country's population with cleaner fuel for households as well as for transportation. Therefore, ATGL is fully committed to play a pivotal role in meeting the clean energy needs of India, and this strategic expansion is fully aligned with our commitment of nation building," said Suresh Manglani, CEO, Adani Total Gas. Adani Total Gas to invest ₹12,000 crore to expand its city gas network

Within months of Saudi Aramco pumping in $15 billion into Reliance Industries, French major Total agreed to buy 37.4% stake in Adani Gas via an open offer. “Total will purchase 37.4% shares in Adani Gas through a tender offer to public shareholders to acquire up to 25.2% shares subject to applicable regulations and purchase the residual shares from Adani Family,” Adani’s press release said. Adani Family and Total shareholders shall ultimately hold 37.4% each and public shareholders shall hold the remaining 25.2%. Adani Gas stock zoomed by over 18% in early trade, as the announcement was made right before the stock markets opened. At 11 am, it was trading at ₹154.9. This is much higher than Total’s offer which was at ₹149.6. With this deal, Adani and Total who are already partners in fuel retailing business, are expanding their interests to the former’s city gas distribution business. Both the companies intend to jointly invest $1 billion in both these businesses. Adani calls it one of India’s largest downstream energy partnerships. The partnership will also develop regasification terminals including Dhamra LNG, on the east coast of India. The Indian government plans to expand piped gas connections to 70% of its population. And Adani Gas hopes to distribute gas to 7.5% of India’s population, in spite of competition from state-owned refining majors like HPCL, BPCL and IOC. “Adani is delighted to deepen its strategic partnership with Total, a global energy major, to one of the largest downstream gas partnerships in India. Adani Gas stock gains by over 13% after French major Total’s open offer

New Delhi, Feb 28 () French energy major Total on Friday picked up shares worth over Rs 5,000 crore in Adani Gas through an open market transaction.On Friday, five promoter entities of Adani Gas on Friday sold shares worth more than Rs 5,000 crore through open market transactions, , as per bulk deal data available on the BSE.Adani Tradeline LLP, S B Adani Family Trust, Afro Asia Trade And Investments Ltd, Worldwide Emerging Market Holding Ltd and Universal Trade And Investments Ltd, offloaded shares. The five promoters have sold a total .of 40,76,43,145 shares for around Rs 125 per share and the total deal value is Rs 5,095 crore, according to the data.Separately, Total Holdings SAS picked up 40,57,51,145 shares in Adani Gas at an average price of Rs 125.12 apiece. This deal is worth Rs 5,076 crore.On BSE, shares of Adani Gas on Friday ended at Rs 133.9 apiece, down 9.04 per cent.In October, it was announced that Total Holdings SAS would acquire 37.4 per cent stake in Gautam Adani-led Adani Gas. French major Total acquires shares worth over Rs 5,000 cr in Adani Gas

Ahmedabad, Deepening its <keyword id="116175" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="strategic-alliance">strategic alliance</keyword> in India's sustainable energy space, French energy major Total proposes to acquire 20% minority interest in Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL). The deal will be completed with Total acquiring shares held by the Adani Promoter Group in AGEL. The transaction marks the deepening partnership between the <keyword id="6367820" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="adani-group">Adani Group</keyword> and Total -- in the transition and green energy fields in India. The investment in AGEL is another step in the strategic alliance between Adani Group and Total, across various businesses and companies of the Adani Group, covering investments in LNG terminals, gas utility business, and renewable assets across India. In 2018, Total and Adani embarked on the energy partnership with investment by Total in <keyword id="5214668" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Adani-Gas-Limited">Adani Gas Limited</keyword>, city gas distribution business, associated LNG terminal business and gas marketing business. In this context, Adani Group and Total have joined hands to develop green power sources at affordable prices and to deliver transformational energy solutions. French energy major Total proposes to acquire 20% stake in Adani Green Energy

New Delhi, Nov 29 () Shares of Adani Gas zoomed nearly 8 per cent on Friday after the Competition Commission gave approval to the acquisition of 37.4 per cent shareholding and joint control by Total Group in the company.
 The stock jumped 7.89 per cent to close at Rs 161.30 on the BSE. During the trade, it advanced 12.77 per cent to Rs 168.60.
 On the NSE, it climbed 7.52 per cent to close at Rs 160.70.
 In traded volume terms, 13.83 lakh shares of the company were traded on the BSE and over one crore units on the NSE during the day.
 "Total Group believes in the initiatives taken by the Government of India to increase the reliance on natural gas instead of petroleum-based products," the Competition Commission of India (CCI) noted.
 The proposed combination represents an investment opportunity for Total along with its subsidiaries and affiliates (Total Group) given the future of natural gas business in India.
 It further noted that the deal would contribute towards bridging the energy deficit and augment supply of natural gas in India and further enable Total Group to provide services in a cost-efficient manner and meet the country's long-term need for cleaner energy.
 Total Holdings is a 100 per cent subsidiary of Total S.A. The Total Group is engaged in every sector of the oil and gas industry, including upstream and downstream. Besides, it is involved in the renewable energy and power generation sectors, CCI said.
 Other group stocks also gained with Adani Transmission climbing 10.53 per cent, Adani Green Energy 3.86 per cent, Adani Power rising 3.33 per cent and Adani Enterprises 0.73 per cent on the BSE. SUM SHW

Adani Gas shares zoom nearly 8 pc as CCI approves stake-buy by Total Group

New Delhi, Feb 6 () Energy major TOTAL will acquire 50 per cent stake in all operational renewable energy projects of Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) for USD 510 million. "AGEL and Total Gas &amp; Power Business Services SAS (TOTAL) have entered into a binding arrangement for investment of approximately USD 510 Million for acquisition of 50 per cent stake and other instruments in a Joint Venture Company (JVCo) which will house 2,148 MWac operating solar projects presently 100 per cent owned by AGEL. The balance 50 per cent stake in the JV Co. shall be held by AGEL," the Adani Group firm said in a statement. The solar portfolio is spread across 11 states in India. The transaction is subject to customary approvals and definitive agreements, it added. Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said, "We are delighted to extend our long term partnership with TOTAL to our renewable energy business in AGEL. The investment reinforces the immense potential in India's renewable energy sector, as well as Adani group commitment towards sustainable development. TOTAL to buy 50 pc stake in Adani Green's 2GW solar projects for USD 510 mn

New Delhi, Jan 22 () Adani Gas Ltd will invest up to Rs 9,000 crore in setting up city gas distribution network over the next 10 years to retail CNG to automobiles and piped cooking gas to households in those areas where it won licences in the recent bidding round, its CEO Suresh Manglani said.
 Adani Gas Ltd (AGL) on its own and in a joint venture with state-owned Indian Oil Corp (IOC) has won city gas licence for 38 geographical areas spread over 71 districts in 15 states in recent bid rounds.
 "AGL is moving at breakneck speed in order to achieve the commitments made in these bidding rounds and the investment in these projects is pegged at around Rs 8,000 to Rs 9,000 crore in the coming decade," he said.
 As part of the government vision to raise the share of natural gas in the energy mix to 15 per cent by 2030 from current 6.2 per cent, the oil regulator PNGRB has in last couple of years conducted two licensing rounds that have expanded the coverage of city gas network to over 400 districts covering 70 per cent of the population of the country.
 Entities winning city gas licences have committed to supply piped natural gas to about 5 crore homes and set up 10,000 CNG dispensing stations.
 "Just to set the context, since Independence only 57 lakh homes have been provided with piped natural gas and only 1,900 CNG stations have so far been set up across India," he said.
 He, however, rued the "cumbersome and time consuming" process of obtaining permission for laying pipelines or setting up CNG stations.
 "While the authorisations for development of city gas distribution (CGD) networks are granted by centre or regulator, the actual work of project execution has to be carried out in the states and union territories," he said. "The process of grant of permissions/right of the user (RoUs) by the various centre and state authorities has remained extremely cumbersome and time-consuming. This would be one of the key bottlenecks in ensuring that the mammoth target sets are achieved."
 He said while a push is being made towards a gas-based economy with open access and gas exchange being planned, key issues such as the inclusion of natural gas in the GST regime and ban on polluting fuels remain critical.
 "Going forward with more clarity emerging on these fronts, the CGD sector is expected to grow exponentially with the simultaneous development of last-mile connectivity of gas as well as infrastructure creation," he said.
 At the end of September 2019, Adani Gas had six city gas projects operational with 86 CNG stations and 0.41 million residential customers. It supplied 1.55 million standard cubic meters per day of gas through these.
 The company plans to scale up the CNG outlets to 1,550 by 2027 and connect 6 million households with piped natural gas, he added. ANZ MKJ
