It seems <keyword id="1960231" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Housing-com">Housing.com</keyword> knows how to be in news sans its former CEO and co-founder <keyword id="536283" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rahul-Yadav">Rahul Yadav</keyword>. The website of the online realty company was hacked and had funny message on it. 
 
Here’s what it showed: “#rahulyadav #housingdown..Yes! We will solve real estate but 10X better with The Chief Architect…We’ve achieved a lot in the last 3 years, but the game has just begun. Yet, we are hungry for all.. #LookUp” 
 
While the company realized that website has been hacked and got it back in order, it seems the hacker did not like it much. And so once again, the website has been hacked with the same message flashing on the screen. The website has been resumed at the time the story was published. 
Interestingly, the hacking comes days after the company’s board sacked Rahul Yadav for his publicity gimmicks after a leaked mail revealed that he had been giving different information to different sections of the media. 
 
“The board believed that his behaviour is not befitting of a CEO and is detrimental to the company,” the board said in a statement. 
 
It added, “The Housing Board, unanimously agreed to bring Yadav's tenure to a close, with reference to his behaviour towards investors, ecosystem and the media.” 
 This isn’t first time Housing.com has been in news. At the time, when Yadav was the CEO, he got into a public spat with the investors of the company and called them ‘intellectually incapable of doing any business’. He then also challenged fellow CEOs of <keyword id="866312" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Zomato-com">Zomato.com</keyword> and <keyword id="6362049" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ola-Cabs">Ola Cabs</keyword> to distribute their stake amongst the employees.

This will bring its current footprint to a total of 93 cities with plans to increase it to over a 100 soon, according to media reports. The move will also result in the hiring of over 5,000 more delivery agents to its team and broaden its network of restaurants by 75,000. It may also launch breakfast services and make delivery times more flexible with midnight meals, according<a href="https://brandequity.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/digital/zomato-hits-a-growth-spurt-expands-operation-to-30-more-cities-in-india/66880777"> to media reports</a>. Food delivery forms a big part of the company’s business contributing over 65% of its total revenue, Inc42 <a href="https://inc42.com/buzz/zomato-looks-to-mid-tier-towns-for-growth-to-hire-5000-delivery-partners/">reported</a>. Zomato has been facing increasing competition from rival Swiggy and the move seems poised to help it grow market share. However, according to a recent <a href="https://brandequity.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/digital/zomato-hits-a-growth-spurt-expands-operation-to-30-more-cities-in-india/66880777">report </a>in Economic Times, the company saw a significant increase amid the festive season. Zomato, founded in 2008, expanded into at least 32 small cities earlier this year. Indian food delivery unicorn Zomato to expand footprint to 30 more cities

Entrepreneurs are a different breed of human species altogether. We mean, who on earth would want to quit their bean bag jobs at Google to start their own restaurants in India. Well, there’s one such entrepreneur who did exactly that! 
 
Meet the 28 year old Vivek Bhargava, who quit his fat paycheck at one of the greatest workplaces in the world, to start his own venture. But hey! This guy wasn’t sure if he wanted to get into the fine dining business at all. In fact, he wasn’t thinking of it. But like they say, destiny had some other plans. 
 “After quitting my job at Google, I first started my own advertising agency and worked on some of the campaigns for Airtel. Eventually, one of my friends asked me to create some campaigns for his restaurant in Haus Khas Village. He introduced me to Priyank Sukhija (who runs 23 restaurants in Delhi NCR, some of which include <keyword id="3323387" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Fat-Ninja">Fat Ninja</keyword>, <keyword id="3323386" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="OTB">OTB</keyword>, Fork You and Raas among others) to do their marketing and advertising. And that’s how I took interest in the segment. And eventually turned into one with my first restaurant—Lights, Camera and Action in West Delhi,” says the young restaurateur. 
 
So, how did he meet Manish Sharma, the founder of Yuvi Hospitality,who has also been operating the Pink Room in Haus Khas Village? 
 “Well, Akshay, who is also a restaurateur, introduced me to Manish and together we founded Yuvi Hospitality. Under Yuvi Hospitality, we launched <keyword id="412043" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="molecule">Molecule</keyword> in Gurgaon (err, Gurugram),” adds Bhargava.

<keyword id="80004" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Info-Edge">Info Edge</keyword>, the parent company of job portal <keyword id="218117" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Naukri-com">Naukri.com</keyword>, will be investing nearly Rs 1.85 billion in food guide portal <keyword id="830092" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Zomato">Zomato</keyword> Media Private Limited. 
 
“Info Edge has committed to make an additional investment of an amount of about Rs.1.85 billion in the shares of Zomato Media Private Limited (which owns and operates an online food guide portal www.zomato.com),” Chintan Thakur, chief financial officer and whole time director of Info Edge informed National Stock Exchange on November 19, 2014. 
 
Zomato will be raising an overall funding of about Rs.3.70 billion which also includes stake sell from existing shareholders. Info Edge will be investing along with two other investors. 
 
“Info Edge would be subscribing and purchasing equity shares and convertible preference shares of Zomato Media Private Limited. Upon disbursement of this amount, the total amount invested by Info Edge in Zomato Media Private Limited will be about Rs. 3.27 billion and the shareholding of Info Edge in Zomato Media Private Limited, post aforesaid aggregate fund raise of Rs.3.70 billion, will be maintained at 50.1% on a fully converted and diluted basis,” added Thakur. 
 
Early last year, the company had invested less than Rs1 billion and had become a majority shareholder with nearly 58% shares in the company.

Rs 1.85 billion in Food Guide Zomato

IAC-owned <a href="http://www.urbanspoon.com/">Urbanspoon</a> has been acquired by Indian startup <a href="https://www.zomato.com/">Zomato</a>, a restaurant directory service, the companies announced Monday.
Sources report the deal is between $50-60 million. <a href="http://www.geekwire.com/2015/restaurant-directory-zomato-buying-urbanspoon-part-u-s-expansion/">A report from GeekWire</a>&#xa0;published Sunday said Urbanspoon CEO Keela Robison would depart as part of the acquisition, but Zomato did not confirm that information.
Zomato, which was founded in New Delhi in 2008, has expanded to provide 330,000 listings for restaurants in countries including&#xa0;Canada, Brazil, and Ireland.&#xa0;
With the acquisition of Urbanspoon, Zomato will break into the US market, competing against services like Foursquare and Yelp and bringing the total number of countries served by Zomato to 22.
Unlike its competitors, Zomato's approach to getting information about restaurants is grassroots: the company hires locals to curate restaurant information, take pictures, scan menus, and create recommendations. Zomato also includes real-time information about the restaurant and lets users book tables through its iOS and Android apps.
"Zomato has experienced phenomenal growth in recent years, and our customer bases complement each other's perfectly,"&#xa0;Urbanspoon CEO&#xa0;Keela Robison said. "Zomato's significant investments in people and technology will bring Urbanspoon customers, restaurant owners, and food bloggers a number of new capabilities and features. We're excited to combine our strengths to accelerate growth."
Zomato has acquired six local restaurant search companies in New Zealand, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy and Turkey in the past six months, including <a href="http://menumania.seccionamarilla.com.mx/" target="_blank">MenuMania</a>&#xa0;in New Zealand and <a href="http://www.cibando.com/" target="_blank">Cibando</a>&#xa0;in Italy. 
Urbanspoon, which was founded in 2006 and in 2009 was acquired by Barry Diller's IAC, is Zomato's first US acquisition.
"We have been planning our entry into the North American market for some time, and Urbanspoon's excellent reputation and foothold in North America, Australia and the UK provides the perfect opportunity for our global growth," said Deepinder Goyal, Zomato's CEO and founder. "We are delighted to welcome Urbanspoon and their audience into Zomato. We will soon be integrating the two platforms to bring the best of both products to all of our users."&#xa0;
The acquisition will more than triple Zomato's restaurant inventory from 300,000 to more than 1,000,000 restaurants around the world.&#xa0;In coming months, Urbanspoon traffic's will move to Zomato.com, and all Urbanspoon app users will use the Zomato app.
Zomato&#xa0;<a href="http://techcrunch.com/2014/11/18/you-say-zomato/">raised $60 million in venture funding in November</a>&#xa0;from Sequoia, Info Edge and Vy Capital, bringing the total amount of funding raised by the company to $113 million.
