The top court further said, “We leave it to Tata Sons, Mistry to take legal route to resolve issue of shares. Cyrus Mistry, whose family holds a majority stake in Tata Sons, was appointed as Chairman in 2012 and was ousted in 2016. <keyword id="6360722" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="ratan-tata">Ratan Tata</keyword> has asked Mistry to step down from his post as the board had lost faith in him. However, Mistry’s refusal to leave had resulted in the very public spat between Tata and Mistry. Mistry was later replaced by the former TCS CEO, <keyword id="539517" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="N-Chandrasekharan">N Chandrasekharan</keyword>. While upholding Mistry's appeal, the court has also admitted that there was 'mismanagement' by the Tata Sons Board and interference by Ratan Tata, as alleged by Mistry. Tata Group stocks tumble after Mistry's legal win casts a shadow on the conglomerate's hallowed reputation

Nearly Rs 1,000-crore worth stock of <keyword id="6357585" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Consultancy-Services">Tata Consultancy Services</keyword> (<keyword id="6357150" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="TCS">TCS</keyword>) are owned by the fired chairman of <keyword id="46894" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Sons">Tata Sons</keyword> <keyword id="6356895" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Cyrus-Mistry">Cyrus Mistry</keyword>, according to a report by software major's annual. Mistry also owns some percentage in the other companies of the group like <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword>, Indian Hotels, Tata Global, <keyword id="6354310" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Chemicals">Tata Chemicals</keyword> and <keyword id="45008" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Power">Tata Power</keyword>, the report added. Regardless of him being fired as the chairman of Tata Sons, he still is the Chairman of these companies along with some others too. 
 
The stocks that are owned by Mistry is in addition to the 18.5% stake that his family group- Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) Group- owns in Tata Sons. The worth of SP Group’s holding on 1st November was Rs 81,140 crore. 
 SP group also holds Rs 63,158 crore worth of stakes in TCS too and that is a little over three fourth of the total company. The family group of Mr. Mistry also hold a substantial stock like Rs 7,983 crore worth stakes in Tata Motors, RS 1,500 crore worth stakes in Tata Communication, Rs 2,279 worth stakes in <keyword id="237814" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Steels">Tata Steels</keyword>, 1,281 crore, Rs 1,281 crore worth stakes in Titan and Rs 1,234 crore worth stakes in Tata Power. 
 
Other than the direct holding in 15 listed companies, Tata Sons has an indirect control over many other companies in which it holds stakes through other companies. 
 <keyword id="6355725" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Group">Tata Group</keyword> also holds majority stakes in many unlisted companies through Tata Sons, ehich weren’t valued. The shares of Future Enterprises ended 5% lower yesterday. Dewan Housing Finance (DHFL) The markets regulator SEBI has restrained 12 promoters of DHFL from accessing securities markets for violating market norms. Promoters are also restrained from associating themselves as directors or promoters of any listed public company or associating with any intermediary registered with SEBI. The shares of DHFL ended 3% lower yesterday. Central Bank of India The QIP of the Central Bank of India has opened with the floor price set at ₹16.18 per share. The shares of DHFL ended 15% higher yesterday. Top stocks to watch— Tata Group, Future Enterprises, RIL, Central Bank of India, DHFL, CARE Ratings and others

New Delhi, Feb 18 () Tata Sons, a promoter of Tata Chemicals, on Tuesday picked up more than 27.52 lakh shares of the company for Rs 208 crore from other promoter entities. According to the block data available on the BSE, Tata Sons purchased a total of 27,52,662 shares of Tata Chemicals. The shares were bought at an average price of Rs 755, valuing the transaction at Rs 207.82 crore, the data showed. The stocks were picked up from other promoter entities -- Ewart Investments, Tata Global Beverages, Simto Investment Company and Tata Coffee. Overall promoters held 31.08 per cent stake in Tata Chemicals at the end of December 2019. This included Tata Sons owning 23.92 per cent stake in the company. The stock of Tata Chemicals settled at Rs 750 on the BSE on Tuesday, down 0.30 per cent from the previous close. AST SHWSHW

Tata Sons picks up Tata Chemical shares worth Rs 208-cr from other promoter entities

<keyword id="46894" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Sons">Tata Sons</keyword> said that access to markets and skilled workforce would be considered important post <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/brexit-impact-global-economy/articleshow/52899336.cms">Brexit</a>, adding that that each of its 19 firms having interests in the UK will be going in for a business review. 
 
"There are 19 independent Tata companies in the UK, with diverse businesses. Each company continuously reviews its strategy and operations in the light of developments, and will continue to do so," read a statement from Tata Sons. 
 
"Access to markets and skilled workforce will remain important considerations," the statement added. 
 
Tata Group stocks had a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Bloodbath-in-the-Indian-markets-as-Brexit-causes-panic/articleshow/52895611.cms">hard fall </a>this morning after the Brexit results, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Bloodbath-in-the-Indian-markets-as-Brexit-causes-panic/articleshow/52895611.cms">going down </a>by up to 13%. This could be cited to the Indian conglomerate's huge exposure to UK. 
 
Specifically, Tata Motors stocks fell 12.9%, Tata Steel tanked 10.89%, TCS plummeted 4.81%, Tata Elxsi dipped 9.21%, Tata Global Beverages saw a fall of 7.26%, Tata Chemicals drubbed 5.72% and Tata Communications went down by 5.34%. 
 
Tata Sons has been operational in the UK since 1907, and out of its 19 firms having interests in the region, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Tata-Motors-profits-treble/articleshow/52519229.cms">JLR </a>and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Tata-Steel-UK-sells-its-Europe-Long-Products-business-to-Greybull/articleshow/52536515.cms">Tata Steel </a>are most globally known.

Tata Sons would focus on market access and skilled workforce after Brexit

<keyword id="617644" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Sons-Board">Tata Sons board</keyword> as well as <keyword id="6360722" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="ratan-tata">Ratan Tata</keyword> were surprised and shocked after the independent directors of Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), mainly known as <keyword id="6453087" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="taj-hotels">Taj Hotels</keyword>, backed <keyword id="6356895" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Cyrus-Mistry">Cyrus Mistry</keyword> as their chairman. 
 In a statement to the <keyword id="43628" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bombay-stock-exchange">Bombay Stock Exchange</keyword> and National Stock Exchange, six independent directors of the Taj Hotels expressed "full confidence" in Mistry and said it was essential to IHCL investors and the public at large know of their views so that they could take an "informed decision" on its stock. 
 
As per reports, Tatas are going to see whether these directors gave a free and fair view or not. 
 The Tatas may question them and see if they were not lured by the <keyword id="6371516" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shapoorji-Pallonji">Shapoorji Pallonji</keyword> (SP) Group. 
 
The support from the six directors comes as a surprise as Tata Sons Board had removed Mistry as its chairman owing to his lack of vision and inefficiency. 
 
Mistry, scion of the SP Group, has refused to quit the boards of various group companies. 
 
"We would like to know if the independent directors noted this dichotomy and asked Mistry about the allegation that eroded market value," a source told ET.
