New Delhi, May 11 () Leading online food ordering platform Swiggy on Monday said Marriott International's delivery service initiative will now be available in more cities through an agreement with the hospitality major.The association will be the first of its kind for Marriott International hotels across India, as they adapt to this new model for home delivery service, Swiggy said in a statement.To start with, over 20 hotels in cities such as Bengaluru, Kolkata Chandigarh, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Agra, Pune, Mumbai, Coimbatore and Goa will be listed on the company's platform, it added."We are pleased to see Swiggy becoming one of our innovative partners. Their strong market credibility and advanced distribution network allows us to offer a satisfactory experience in this ever changing and sensitive environment," Marriott International South Asia VP Neeraj Govil said.This partnership will benefit the company's 'Marriott on Wheels' initiative in the new normal as it feels food deliveries will be the new continuum going forward, he added."As a preferred partner of Marriott International, one of the largest brands in the modern hospitality industry, we are delighted to come together and offer popular restaurants by different marques of Marriott on the Swiggy app," Swiggy COO Vivek Sunder said.This association will deliver curated assortments from Marriott on Wheels to customers and bring their favourite cuisine and delights right to their doorstep, he added.Swiggy will execute 'no-contact' deliveries on all pre-paid orders, which involve a delivery partner leaving the food at the doorstep rather than an in-person exchange, the statement said.Both companies also have plans to expand the service to more hotels in other cities, it added. Marriott International partners with Swiggy for food delivery initiative

New Delhi, May 29 () Multinational Conglomerate ITC Ltd's hospitality arm ITC Hotels on Friday announced to partner online food delivery platform Swiggy to deliver its food delicacies at customers' doorsteps amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The move would enable ITC Hotels' customers to enjoy their pre-paid orders with 'no-contact' deliveries and have unique food experiences with local offerings from the regions at their home, said a joint statement. This would be implemented into phases across India and deliveries from properties such as ITC Maurya (New Delhi), ITC Royal Bengal (Kolkata), ITC Grand Chola (Chennai), ITC Gardenia (Bengaluru), ITC Windsor (Bengaluru), ITC Kohenur (Hyderabad), ITC Rajputana (Jaipur), ITC Grand Goa (Goa) and Welcomhotel Bengaluru would be commenced in the phase one. While, under the second phase more ITC Hotels and Welcomhotel properties will be added to the Swiggy home delivery initiative, it added. Commenting on the development, ITC Hotels COO Anil Chadha said: "We are re-engineering our guest experiences with zero/low associate engagement (including digital ordering and e-payment solutions). New Delhi, Apr 15 () Startup Cipla Health, a subsidiary of Cipla, on Wednesday said it has partnered with Swiggy, Zomato and Dunzo for home deliveries of over-the-counter wellness products in the wake of the nationwide lockdown. Leveraging on the extensive service delivery mechanism of the partners, Cipla Health will cater to 4 lakh people and cover 250 stores in 45 cities across the country. A home-delivery system makes it very convenient and safe for customers to get access to the wellness products, which otherwise might be difficult due to these lockdown conditions, the company said in a statement. Cipla Health CEO Shivam Puri said, "We have collaborated with these premier delivery partners as their expertise coupled with our suppliers will allow us to reach out to a larger segment of the population." Further, he said, "Our set of offerings are specially curated to meet the varying needs of our consumers especially in these times and hence, this association helps us in ensuring our products reach their consumers who are finding it difficult to purchase them due to the lockdown..." I went over to Zomato since I have a membership, but the service did not have any delivery partners to assign to that eatery. Naturally, I switched to Swiggy and tried to place the order, but backed out because the final price was 75% higher than what I would have to pay at the eatery myself. I thought to myself that I would much rather pay the additional cost to the eatery instead of having Swiggy take it away. And the reason restaurants charge higher on Zomato is because of its commissions, nothing else. Zomato’s ₹4,400 crore acquisition of Blinkit has drawn flak for different reasons – from it being an expensive purchase to being a cash sink, the overall outlook has been negative. However, analysts at HSBC Global Research suggest this is a necessary evil for the company if it wants to remain competitive with Swiggy. To jog your memory, Blinkit is a grocery delivery service, rivaling the likes of Big Basket, JioMart, Swiggy Instamart among others. Analysts at HSBC believe Zomato needs to now integrate Blinkit into the Zomato app if it wants to realize the synergy gains from this acquisition. Not only would this help Zomato users, it would also help the company increase user stickiness and reduce customer acquisition costs for both Zomato and Blinkit. On the outset, this logic looks sound – after all, acquisitions are made for synergy gains. But the analysts at Jefferies believe this could likely be a cash guzzler – something that Zomato investors might not like, yet. She said that the tie-up will strengthen ITC's pan- India delivery of the hotel chain's cuisine. Earlier, at the time of reopening of hotels during 'Unlock 1', ITC Hotels had entered into similar arrangements with another online delivery platform Swiggy, which is continuing. Realme's DIZO launches first true wireless stereo earbuds and neckband earphones in India

New Delhi, May 11 () Packaging services provider <keyword id="2947488" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bizongo">Bizongo</keyword> on Monday said it has delivered more than two lakh <keyword id="2493103" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="personal-protective-equipment">personal protective equipment</keyword> (PPE) kits across India as part of its contribution in the fight against coronavirus pandemic.These PPEs were distributed in 5,500 localities, servicing 127 organisations spread in 57 urban and rural centres across the country. The recipients of the kits include public and private healthcare service providers, NGOs and private sector organisations, Bizongo said in a statement. "Bizongo worked with NGOs like HT Parekh Foundation, ATE <keyword id="8979806" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="chandra-foundation">Chandra Foundation</keyword>, Piramal Swasthya, Foundation for Ecological Security, Christian Medical Association of India to ensure the critical PPE kits reached a larger number of people at the forefront of fighting COVID-19," its COO Sachin Agarwal said. According to a report by World Economic Forum -- Indian Cities in the Post Pandemic World, released on January 7, 2021 -- about 70% of India's gross domestic product (GDP) comes from its cities and around 25-30 people migrate to cities from rural areas every minute. The development model of India in the last 20-30 years has been very urban centric where one has to bring talent out of villages into cities. Vembu feels, in this process, we are overcrowding urban areas and leaving rurals empty which is not good. “So to bring some balance to this situation, more economic activity has to happen at the rural level, particularly high paying technology jobs have to be moved to rural areas. The idea is to create jobs for people who otherwise might have to shift to urban areas,” says Vembu. Jayesh Ranjan, the information technology (IT) secretary of Telangana, highlighted a survey that said 68% of India’s MSMEs did not have an email address five years back, which is very disheartening to hear. He feels that MSMEs can benefit from technology and it is only a matter of mindset holding them back. If unfortunate circumstances like a pandemic come up, dramatic changes can literally happen overnight. Digitisation push for small businesses could create technology jobs in rural areas, say Business Insider’s MSME Exchange panelists

<ul><li>Indians are heavily <keyword id="35175" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="investing">investing</keyword> in <keyword id="373404" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Financial-Assets">financial assets</keyword> and bulk of that money is routed via startups like <keyword id="759851" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Zerodha">Zerodha</keyword>, Upstox and others.</li><li>In the last two decades, financial <keyword id="41933" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="assets">assets</keyword> per adult in India gained 2%, while non-financial assets fell 8.4%, as per a Global Wealth Report 2021 by Credit Suisse.</li><li>Tech savvy broking firms like Zerodha, Upstox hold double digit market share in terms of number of unique investors as compared to traditional stock brokers like Motilal Oswal, Angel Broking.</li></ul>Financial assets in India have been on an uptrend in at least the last two decades as financial assets per adult in India have gained 2% between 2000 to 2020, while non-financial assets fell 8.4%, shows Global Wealth Report by Credit Suisse. The data indicates rising interest of individuals in financial assets like stocks, bonds, mutual funds. Adding to it, data from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) shows that in the year ended March 2020, the net financial assets in India — defined as gross financial assets less financial liabilities — jumped from ₹13.73 lakh crore in FY19 to ₹15.62 lakh crore in FY20 due to decline in borrowing from banks. Since interest rates have remained low in the country for quite some time, investors have shifted more savings towards soaring markets. Many new retail investors entered the industry in the last one year as interest rates kept depleting and markets kept surging. In fact, 14.2 million demat accounts have been opened in FY21, according to SEBI data. “The net financial assets of Indian households have grown due to fall in bank deposits and increase in investments. Lower interest rate environment, combined with friction-less access to financial markets due to fintech services and online brokers, is one of the key reasons for this spike in financial assets in India. As of January, India's total demat account stood at 51.5 million, a 26% increase compared to the end of FY20,” said Nikhil Kamath, cofounder of Zerodha. Most new investors that have come in the last one year are lured because of the record high Sensex/Nifty 50 levels and ease in opening a demat account, doing e-KYC through popular online trading platforms like Zerodha. Zerodha holds 18.85% market share with 33.9 lakh unique active investors followed by Upstox with 10.9% market share with19.6 lakh unique active investors, reveals data by stock market analytics platform Trade Brains. Besides, the investor is also evolving and naturally gravitating to financial assets due to higher transparency, standardisation, liquidity and strong regulatory environment as compared to non-financial assets,” said Sanyal. Ravi Kumar, founder and chief executive of Upstox feels that financial assets will continue to grow in the coming time as investors have learned the importance of investing. "Indians are increasingly preferring financial assets over physical assets. While non-financial assets give a sense of ownership, financial instruments such as mutual funds and equities are easy to liquidate. Also, due to the pandemic people have learnt the importance of investing, portfolio diversification, and hence financial assets will continue to grow in the future," said Kumar. Zerodha, Upstox and other broking apps are minting money as FOMO and easier access drive Indians to stock markets

The <keyword id="160935" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="UK-Home-Office">UK Home Office</keyword> on Thursday formally opened its new post-study work visa for international students, which would offer overseas graduates from <keyword id="3658" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="India">India</keyword> and other destinations the option to apply for the right to stay on for job experience at the end of their university courses. The <keyword id="23976" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="graduate">Graduate</keyword> route visa, announced last year by UK Home Secretary <keyword id="132666" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Priti-Patel">Priti Patel</keyword>, is now open for applications from this week and is expected to particularly benefit Indian students, who are known to choose their degree courses based on the prospect of work experience. The Graduate route is designed for international graduates who have been awarded their degree from a recognised UK university to stay on and look for work for at least two years. "To put it into some context, last year more than 56,000 Indian nationals were granted a student visa, that's a 13 per cent increase on the previous year, and that is almost now a quarter of all student visas issued by the UK," Patel told . "When you think about those numbers, think about the totality in terms of how this route will benefit India, it's a very, very big move. And, we will continue to work with the various academic institutions on making this route viable," she said. For the new route, international graduates must have completed an eligible course at a UK higher education provider with a track record of compliance with the government's immigration requirements. It is unsponsored, meaning applicants do not need a job offer to apply and crucially they can use a two-year period to stay on and look for a job. There are no minimum salary requirements or caps on numbers, allowing graduates on the route to work flexibly, switch jobs and develop their career as required. "As we build back better, it is vital that the UK continues to be a beacon for talented young people across the globe who want to make a difference. The new Graduate route does just that, giving the best and brightest graduates the opportunity to continue contributing to the UK's prosperity and the freedom to kickstart their careers in the UK," said Patel. A coronavirus concession on the date by which students must enter the UK to qualify for the route, if they started courses in 2020 and are unable to travel due to the pandemic, was recently extended. Applicants who began their studies in autumn 2020 or in spring 2021 will need to be in the UK on a student visa by September 27 this year. Students beginning their course later this year or early next year will need to be in the UK by April 6, 2022. This has been welcomed by Indian student groups in the UK, concerned about India's categorisation under the red list of countries from where travel currently remains banned, making it compulsory for Indian students to quarantine at considerably additional expense. "Many other countries do not offer that microcosm, foundation of diaspora community, natural heritage, all the cultural links, all the values that we share between our two countries. That puts us in a very strong position, both for Indian students coming here and securing their future opportunities in the workplace," Patel said. The new route, part of the <keyword id="3444934" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="post-brexit">post-Brexit</keyword> points-based immigration system, is pegged as part of the UK's Global Britain message of attracting the best talent from around the world and covers all parts of the United Kingdom. "International students are a vital part of our society, and those who graduate from our world-leading universities should have the opportunity to stay and build meaningful careers here in the UK," said Universities Minister Michelle Donelan. "That is why we are introducing this new route for international graduates, enabling British businesses to attract and retain some of the brightest, most talented graduates across the globe, and helping this nation build back better from the pandemic," she said. Anne Marie Graham, Chief Executive of UK Council for International Student Affairs, said: "We know that employability is a priority for international students coming to study in the UK. "International students who are able to access this route will have the flexibility to apply for work in any sector or role that fits their skills profile, including self-employment without the need for employer sponsorship." To apply under the new Graduate route, international students must have completed an eligible course at a recognised UK higher education provider at undergraduate or higher level. Students on the route will be able to work or look for work after their studies for a maximum period of two years, or three years for Doctoral PhD students. The National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK (NISAU) was among the groups that actively lobbied the UK government for such a post-study visa route. "Genuine Indian applicants with demonstrable skills should considerably benefit," it added.
