<ul><li><keyword id="6363378" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="srcc" source="Orion">SRCC</keyword>’s recruitment drive season saw a 32.34% increase in gross value of offers.</li><li>The highest package offered was ₹25 lakh per year, while average was ₹8.31 lakh per year.</li><li>Companies like McKinsey &amp; Company, Bain Capability Network, Dalberg Advisors, Deutsche Bank were top recruiters.</li></ul>The recruitment season 2020-21 of <keyword id="6542932" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shri-ram-college-of-commerce" source="Orion">Shri Ram College of Commerce</keyword> (SRCC), which is located in north campus of Delhi University ⁠— is also ranked among the top 10 colleges list by National Institutional Ranking Framework (<keyword id="6396110" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NIRF" source="Orion">NIRF</keyword>) ⁠— observed a record of 350 plus offers extended by recruiters in more than 15 sectors with highest compensation of ₹25,00,000 per annum. The highest package offered was ₹25 lakh per year, the average package was ₹8,31,000 and the median package offered was ₹6,54,000. According to the data report shared by the <keyword id="12255129" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Placement-cell-of-SRCC" source="Orion">Placement cell of SRCC</keyword>, the recruitment drive registered a record 32.34% increment in the gross value of offers to a massive ₹30.48 crores. The report also highlights that there was a 29.62% surge in the number of offers given by companies to SRCC students despite COVID-19. The top-recruiting companies were McKinsey &amp; Company, Bain Capability Network, Dalberg Advisors, Deutsche Bank, Citibank, Accenture Strategy, Fischer Jordan. The internship season 2020-21 also recorded a significant result with the highest stipend offered was a whopping ₹1,50,000 per month, while the average stipend offered was ₹34,000 per month. Companies like Hindustan Unilever, DE Shaw, EY were top internship recruiters this season who extended offers across various domains. “Though we were a bit sceptical initially due to the economic recession, our fears turned out to be unfounded as the number of placement recruiters and the number of offers reached an all-time high. Moreover, as the competition for hiring the best talent intensifies, many recruiters have resorted to the PPO route, leading to 22 PPOs in this season, a milestone in itself.” said Ansh Goyal, Chief Secretary of SRCC’s Placement cell. Campus recruitment at SRCC hits all-time high ⁠— the highest package offered is ₹25 lakh a year

<ul><li>This placement season, undergraduate colleges like Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR), Shri Ram College of Commerce (<keyword id="6363378" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="SRCC">SRCC</keyword>) and St Stephen's college witnessed a jump in the job offers and average salaries. </li><li>The average salary package at LSR and SRCC went up from ₹7.5 lakh to ₹10 lakh per annum. The highest offered bagged by these freshers stood at over ₹30 lakh. </li><li>Among the top recruiters were Gartner, EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, Samsung and Accenture. This includes the first time recruiters as well. </li></ul>Slowdown doesn’t seem to be affecting the placements at the premier institutions in India. Not just Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), undergraduate colleges like Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR), Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) and St Stephen's college affiliated to the University of Delhi also witnessed a<a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/jobs/job-offers-at-premier-undergrad-colleges-belie-slowdown-average-packages-zoom/articleshow/74289101.cms?from=mdr"> jump in the job offers and average salaries</a>. For the 2019-20 placement season, the average salary package at LSR and SRCC went up from ₹7.5 lakh to ₹10 lakh per annum. The highest offered bagged by these freshers stood at over ₹30 Lakh. As many as 130 students received job offers at SRCC. “We haven't seen an overall impact of the slowdown in placements. The number of companies coming has more or less remained the same since last year, however the number of students that were made an offer to have increased,” Kanika K Ahuja, placement in-charge at LSR told ET. The students who get admission to these Delhi University-affiliated colleges have to score over 95% in the 12th grade — due to high cut-offs. Among the top recruiters were Gartner, EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, Samsung and Accenture. On the other hand, <keyword id="311892" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shaheed-Sukhdev-College-of-Business-Studies">Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies</keyword> (SCBS), which is ranked as the second best undergraduate b-school in India, bagged 106 offers at an average compensation of over ₹7 lakh. The highest offer stood at ₹18 lakh per annum. The average compensation at other DU colleges fluctuated between ₹6 lakh to ₹10 lakh per annum. While the overall average salaries in India went up by 45% for undergraduate students. This is despite the economic downturn in the country. The growing trend of summer placements The growing trend of summer placements and pre-placement offers too might have had an effect on the increased interest of recruiters. Companies like Deutsche Bank, Citi Bank are also banking on summer placements to assess talent, thereby extending pre-placement offers. At SCBS, Goldman Sachs visited the campus to hire interns for their investment banking division. Students also received PPOs from companies like KPMG, RocSearch and Grofers. Delhi University students bag job offers that pay as much as ₹31 lakh per annum

Companies and startups are ready to raid engineering and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=B-school+">B-school</a> campuses across India this placement season, adding to the fierce war for talent already raging between large e-Commerce companies and established old-world recruiters. 
 
The startups which are looking for fresh talents include ShopClues, LocalOye, Urban-Clap, PropTiger, Indus Insights, MyRefers, CodeNation, Embibe, Jombay, Lybrate and ShadowFax. 
 
Moreover, a survey of 11 startups suggests they will step up overall <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=campus+hiring+">campus hiring</a> to 770 students from the Class of 2016 compared with only 250 that they hired from the last batch. 
 
Bulk of this hiring will be across top engineering colleges and B-schools, including Indian Institutes of Technology, National Institutes of Technology and Indian Institutes of Management. 
 
Don’t be disappointed if you are not studying in the above mentioned institutes as a handful will also recruit at leading undergraduate colleges including Shri Ram College of Commerce, Lady Shri Ram College and St Stephen's, and design schools such as National Institute of Design and National Institute of Fashion Technology. 
 
Now comes the most interesting part- salary! Average salaries offered by these startups range between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 18 lakh at engineering colleges and B-schools, say campus sources. Prop-Tiger, for instance, is paying upwards of Rs 15 lakh plus benefits at tech schools; CodeNation will pay around Rs 24 lakh. 
 
At least three of these startups — Lybrate, LocalOye and ShadowFax — are first-timers on campus while others, at the very least, are doubling last year's numbers. In some cases, hiring targets are going up five-fold or even 16-fold compared with last year. 
 
The strategies behind the hiring are discussed below: 
1. Depending on the kind of institutes, students are being hired for a variety of roles: from <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=software+development+engineers">software development engineers</a>; core management &amp; data scientists; product, operations and marketing; merchant acquisition and servicing, to human resource management, product and graphic designers and even entrepreneurs in residence. Sanjay Mehta, a Mumbai-based angel investor who participated in and led 11 angel deals in 2015, says the reason why startups are so gung-ho about <keyword id="511161" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="campus-hiring">campus hiring</keyword> is because they want to put this talent to work on cutting-edge technology and new delivery models. Not surprisingly, several institutes where placements have started, including Birla Institute of Technology &amp; Science-Pilani and <keyword id="75110" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="NITs">NITs</keyword>, are seeing these startups go head-to-head with <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=traditional+recruiters+">traditional recruiters</a> to hire talent. At other B-schools and <keyword id="49737" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="IITs">IITs</keyword> where pre-placement offers (PPOs) have started flowing in, it is again the startups that are leading the pack. 
 
2. Much high in numbers: The numbers speak for themselves. If ShopClues is revising its hiring intake from around 100 last year to 180-250 this time, realty portal PropTiger is doubling its target to 50. Even five-month-old B2B (business-to-business) hyperlocal delivery startup ShadowFax, which raised $300,000 from <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Snapdeal">Snapdeal</a>'s founders and others in August followed by a $8.5-million Series A round by Fidelity's proprietary investment arm Eight Roads Ventures barely a month later, is looking to hire from IITs, <keyword id="46923" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="IIMs">IIMs</keyword> and other leading management institutes for its technology, data science and operations teams. 
 
3. Tapping more institutes: In the process, these companies are reaching out to many more institutes this year. "If there is a campus that attracts bright minds of the country, we want to be there. This includes other engineering colleges as well as top colleges in economics and commerce," says Saurabh Sharma, founder &amp; chief executive officer of Indus Insights. The Big Data firm made 40 offers last year, mostly at the top IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Madras). This year, it plans to make 100-plus, including at NITs (Trichy, Warangal, etc), SRCC, LSR, Christ College and Indian School of Business. 
 Similarly, Delhi-based mobile services marketplace UrbanClap, which hired 30 business development and operations specialists from <keyword id="6360099" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Delhi-University">Delhi University</keyword> last year, is extending its reach to several new institutes, including <keyword id="6431668" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="IIT-Delhi">IIT-Delhi</keyword> and IIM-Ahmedabad as it gears up to take on 80-100 this year. 
 
Salaries apart, the other drawing factors include the opportunity to work on challenging problems. "We don't have any glass ceilings. Freshers could be running entire teams within six months of joining," says Aditi Avasthi, founder and CEO, Embibe. "Students are opting for startups aggressively as some of the roles offered by them are quite challenging and inclined with their aspirations," sums up Rahul Katyal, placement manager at IIT-Bombay.

“The secret to successful hiring is simple: Look for people who are willing to change the world,” and this mantra is being followed by many <keyword id="982553" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Indian-startups">Indian startups</keyword> on a hiring drive. This time, the companies have shifted their focus from top engineering and management school to undergraduate campuses in order to create a work force of talented youngsters. 

	This year, the number of startups searching for talent at some of the top campuses has increased twice, and there is also a two-time increase in the average salary as well, revealed an Economic Times report.
 By simple observing the hiring trends this year, the ET report stated that most of these startups have chosen candidates from <keyword id="72476" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Lady-Shri-Ram-College">Lady Shri Ram College</keyword> (LSR), <keyword id="264593" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Shri-Ram-College">Shri Ram College</keyword> of Commerce (SRCC), <keyword id="6417880" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="hansraj-college">Hansraj College</keyword> and others colleges of the <keyword id="6360099" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Delhi-University">Delhi University</keyword> (DU). Beside this, Bengaluru’s <keyword id="87934" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Christ-University">Christ University</keyword> has also been among the top favourites of the employers. Till now, the top known salary so far is Rs 13 lakh at LSR as against Rs 12 lakh in 2014. This recruitment process will continue till April end. The new companies that hiring this year include: Axsiom, UTH Connect, Zocalo, Cashkaro, CFBI, Smartican, Foxymoron, Indxx, Papertrue, Inopen, Papertray, Akosha, Oyo Rooms, Truly Madly and <keyword id="606198" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="O3-Capital">O3 Capital</keyword>, etc. These companies are in search of people who are fit to work as junior-level analysts, as well as those who could handle work related to marketing and business development. 

	Deepesh Garg, founder and MD of O3 Capital, told the ET, "We are not always getting good talent at MBA level. In the past we never hired at analyst level. The idea is to get good analysts from the UG level; typically, these will be people with economics, maths, and commerce background."
 

	The move is also a first for Gurgaon-based Axsiom, which is an alternative investment vehicle exclusively invested in Web Properties &amp; Digital Assets. The company has hired 15 graduates from the DU to observe whether it makes any sense to pay lucrative salaries to IITians if undergraduates with non-engineering background can perform equally well and that too at a lower salary than what the IITians get.
 

	The average salary offer for LSR graduates is Rs 5.8 lakh. While at SRCC, the average salary this year is Rs 7 lakh. And Rs 5.5 lakh is the average salary at Hansraj as against Rs 3.8 lakh in 2014.
