The financial services company sees potential return on investments in the range 6-72 %. It, however, gave an 'Underperform' rating for IDP Education, with a potential 16 % downside in its stock price. BofA Securities said they presented a list of 10 quarterly stock recommendations among Asia Pacific companies, based on the view that these stocks could have the most significant market and business-related catalysts in the quarter ahead. "Given the breadth and scope of our overall coverage of stocks and sectors in Asia Pac, we recognize this recommended list cannot include nor is it designed to include all major catalysts. Our objective is to identify what we believe will be the highest impact ideas in each quarter when we publish the list," the financial services company said. For Reliance, the financial services company has a 'Buy' rating as Jio has emerged as the top telecom player in a growing market in India. "Reliance's telecom subsidiary -Jio - has garnered a large number of paying subscribers. Service quality perceptions continue to improve. Data demand appears to be sticky, and relatively less price sensitive," it said. "Reliance is also completing a major petrochemicals expansion, which should significantly increase its free cash flow potential. Continued improvements at Jio and FCF (free cash flow) generation should drive upside." Explaining the rationale behind the recommendation, it said it maintained 'Buy' on Reliance Industries after finding find risk-reward favorable as it heads into its Annual General Meeting (likely in August). With Jio making investments in 5G, BofA Securities sees further room for the company to gain market share -- mainly at the expense of Vodafone Idea. "Furthermore, any better-than-expected revenues in fiber broadband or digital initiatives could surprise positively." The Indian conglomerate foraying into "high-margin" niches like chocolates, cosmetics, and beverages by making acquisitions is also a positive, BofA Securities said. Further, it said Reliance's oil-to-chemical business is well positioned to generate $9-9.5 billion EBITDA for the next three years, thus providing cash-flow stability. Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has written to the <keyword id="30356" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="telecom-regulatory-authority-of-india" source="Orion">Telecom Regulatory Authority of India</keyword> (TRAI) stating that the complaint is a deliberate malicious attempt by Bharti <keyword id="15491" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="airtel" source="Orion">Airtel</keyword> Limited (Airtel) to defame RJILs consumer-friendly tariffs in order to protect its narrow interests. Bharti Airtel had filed a complaint on alleged predatory offers of Live TV channels with broadband plans by RJIL. RJIL said a close reading of the complaint letter would clearly establish that Airtel's sole grouse is that JioFiber is offering reasonable tariffs to customers. "Evidently, all its unsubstantiated claims of predation, non-level playing field, and non-compliance with TTOs and NTO are just woven around this singular theme and this complaint should be dismissed simply on the ground of being a frivolous attempt to protect its own interests. Further, Airtel should be warned against making such frivolous complaints in future," RJIL said. It added that the <keyword id="16958414" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="jiofiber-backup" source="Orion">JioFiber backup</keyword> tariff is an earnest attempt by RJIL to connect all consumers to fiber optics technology in order to deliver best-in-class connectivity services. JioFiber Backup plan is a 10 Mbps FTTX plan at a monthly rental of Rs 198 (plus taxes). This plan is available only on 5 months advance rental at one go. In view of this, we reiterate that Airtel's complaint should be summarily dismissed," RJIL said. "I doubt if that could be termed as a mistake as many countries were using the technology but the world just went another way," Alok Shende, Managing Director of Ascentius Insights, a management consulting firm tells Business Insider India. Years after RCom came under Anil Ambani, as <a href="https://www.indiatoday.in/business/india/story/ambani-vs-ambani-when-brothers-broke-up-150083-2011-12-27">Reliance Industries was divided </a>in 2004, he had to shift to the much-popular GSM technology. The shift required one more costly one-time investment in terms of network upgrade and spectrum; and the timing wasn’t right either. "Because of our early adoption of the ongoing enhancements to LTE technology our wireless network is already 4G PLUS. He also pointed out that the investment cycle for Jio is now complete and going forward, the company only needs marginal investments in terms of access in order to grow its capacity in order to meet demand. Ambani even asserted that Jio is 5G ready today. Making Indian businesses global Jio is partnering with Microsoft to bring the Azure platform to Jio data centers across the country. Using Microsoft’s Azure AI, Jio will be able to develop India specific solutions like speech recognition and natural language understanding for Indian languages and dialects. "Our long term partnership combines the power of Azure, Azure AI and Office 365 with Jio’s connectivity and digital solutions, which are among the most used and fast growing in the world," said <keyword id="276564" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Satya-Nadella">Satya Nadella</keyword> in a statement during the event. To support that mission, the service will be free for Indian technology startups and small businesses can avail it at a nominal price of ₹1,500, which is one-tenth of its official cost. Launching its own Internet of Things With a revenue opportunity of ₹20,000 crore, Reliance Jio is planning to set up its own Internet of Things. With 2 billion devices expected to go digital over the next two years in India, Jio wants to be the connectivity provider for at least half of them. Jio’s pan India Narrowband Internet of THings (NBIoT) will launch on 1 January 2020 residential, industrial and public devices. Blocking chain and keeping Indian data in India Over the next twelve months, Jio plans to install one of the largest blockchain networks in the world that will include throughs on nodes that be operation when the services takes off. Ambani states that this is a brand new data model for Indian data, specifically customer data. Taking Jio Fiber Live Reliance Jio has been testing its optical fiber broadband network since August last year. Spanning over 1,600 towns, the service generated over 15 million registrations and trials are already underway in 500,000 homes. And now, it’s going to launch commercially on 5 September 2019 across India on Jio’s three year anniversary with the aim of reaching 20 million households and 15 million businesses. The welcome offer for Jio Fiber includes an HD 4K television set as well as an HD 4K set top box that supports gaming. The aim is to launch the company’s first multi-player gaming platform at zero latency. Jio also demoed its new mixed reality (MR) headset, which is a combination of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), that its building with the help of one of the startups under its umbrella. OTT services and new movies at home A subscription to Jio Fiber is also going to come bundled with subscriptions to most of the leading premium OTT applications. Ambani said the aim is to make the subscription model more convenient for users so that they don’t have to pay and sign up for multiple services separately — they just get them all through Jio. Users also won’t have to go to the cinema to watch movies anymore. With Jio’s ‘First Day First Show’ feature, Jio Premium members can watch movies on their Jio Fiber connections on the same day that those films hit the theaters. This service won’t be available immediately but Ambani stated that it should be live by mid-2020. Back to basics Aside from the bells and whistles, Jio Fiber isn’t skimping on the basics of a broadband connection. The lowest of its plans will start at speeds of 100Mbps and go all the way up to 1Gbps. And, like Jio undercut its competition’s prices when its 4G network went live, its broadband services plans to do the same with prices starting at ₹700 per month and keeping voice calls free forever.
