Out of the 2,758 stocks traded during the day, 1,495 saw advances, while 1,180 saw declines. Prices of 128 stocks hit their 52-week high, while 18 stocks hit their 52-week low. Mr. Ajit Mishra, SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd., notes that the markets traded within a narrow range throughout the day, closing nearly unchanged after a recent surge. 'Initially positive, the session saw profit-taking in key heavyweights that offset early gains, resulting in the Nifty settling around 24,009.30 levels, down by 0.15%. Despite this, sectors like <keyword id="6357014" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="energy" source="Orion">energy</keyword>, <keyword id="19933821" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pharma" source="keywords">pharma</keyword>, and metal ended in positive territory, contributing to gains of around 0.5%–0.9% in broader indices..". "Looking ahead, there's a possibility of consolidation in the benchmark index following recent upward movement, with support expected around the 23,700–23,900 range on any declines. Banking stocks are currently consolidating, while sectors such as IT, <keyword id="6357014" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="energy" source="Orion">energy</keyword>, and FMCG are buoying the index higher. Similar market dynamics are anticipated in the upcoming session, so traders should strategize accordingly," he continued. Rajesh Bhosale, Equity Technical Analyst, Angel One saw this as an exceptional week for the market, and cautioned that some cooling was on the cards. "It was an exceptional week for the bulls as markets reached new milestones. The week began on a negative note on Monday, with prices testing the previous week's lows. However, the bulls saw this as an opportunity and pushed prices higher. Prices continued to climb for four consecutive sessions, surpassing the 24,000 level for the first time. On Friday, the market opened positively and hit a new high of 24174, but some profit-taking in the second half led to a close just above 24000, marking a weekly gain of over 2%," he noted. Amidst all the key events, June was a remarkable month for the markets, with gains exceeding 6.5%. While the market appears to be in a strong bull run, the next move in the coming week might be challenging as oscillators across all major time frames are in overbought territory. Often, overbought conditions indicate potential inherent signs; however, in the near term, a cool-down cannot be ruled out. While taking contra-bets and shorting the market is not advised, taking some profits is prudent, as a correction, either in price or time, is anticipated." Bhosale said. <h2>IPO market</h2>The primary market is gearing up for another stellar period, given that three companies launched their initial public offerings (IPOs) to raise approximately ₹2,208 crore this week. Mahavir Lunawat, Managing Director, Pantomath Capital Advisors Pvt. Ltd. notes that with political stability restored, stock markets are once again on the rise, and the Nifty and Sensex indices have hit record highs. "Optimism is especially pronounced in the IPO market, as Hyundai Motor India, the country's second-largest carmaker, is planning a huge ₹25,000 crore IPO this year, which would be the biggest in India's history. We expect significant capital to be deployed in public markets and strong demand for both new-age and conventional companies in the coming months," he said.

India remains highly dependent on imports for minerals critical to accelerating its <keyword id="19951336" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="energy-transition" source="keywords">energy transition</keyword>, with a full reliance on shipping in lithium, cobalt and nickel, according to a report released Monday. The report, published by the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), said that India's demand for <keyword id="19978839" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="critical-minerals" source="keywords">critical minerals</keyword> is expected to more than double by 2030, while domestic mining operations may take over a decade to start producing. It stresses that India needs a carefully crafted import strategy to mitigate potential trade risks while balancing international relationships to secure these essential minerals. IEEFA's report examines five critical minerals (and their compounds) - cobalt, copper, graphite, lithium and nickel - from the perspectives of import dependency, trade dynamics, domestic availability, and global price fluctuations. The findings show that India remains largely import-dependent for these minerals and their compounds, with 100 per cent import reliance for minerals like lithium, cobalt, and nickel. "India should strive to de-risk its critical minerals sourcing by identifying new international resources and expediting <keyword id="20681115" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="domestic-production" source="keywords">domestic production</keyword>. A concerted effort to partner with and foster bilateral relations with <keyword id="23713985" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mineral-rich-nations" source="keywords">mineral-rich nations</keyword> should be a priority for India," said the report's co-author Charith Konda, Energy Specialist, IEEFA. "The country can also explore investment opportunities in resource-rich, friendly nations, such as Australia and Chile, as well as African countries like Ghana and South Africa," he added. The report said India depends heavily on China for synthetic graphite and natural graphite and it should explore cooperation initiatives with countries like Mozambique, Madagascar, Brazil and Tanzania which are some of the highest graphite producing countries. "As part of the Global South cooperation initiatives, these countries could be favourable partners for India for <keyword id="23713984" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="graphite-trading" source="keywords">graphite trading</keyword>," said the report's co-author Kaira Rakheja, Energy Analyst, IEEFA. India is also highly import-dependent for copper cathodes and nickel sulphates from just two countries - Japan and Belgium. The report suggests India could look at the US, the fifth largest producer of copper in the world, to diversify its suppliers and enhance <keyword id="23714709" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="supply-security" source="keywords">supply security</keyword>. For minerals like lithium oxide and nickel oxide, the dependency is low on one country, but overall imports largely come from Russia and China, both countries with potential trade risks. "Developing domestic lithium refining capacity will help India integrate with the global lithium supply chain," said Rakheja. The report also notes the significant efforts that the Indian government is making to improve domestic production of critical minerals with the auctions by the Ministry of Mines and the planned Critical Minerals Mission. "The critical minerals mining block auctions can serve as an opportunity for India to focus on building refining and processing capabilities to emerge as a global value-adding hub," said Rakheja. "Government support in the form of viability gap funding and technology development will help promote such auctions and ultimately the domestic production of critical minerals. "A stable supply of critical minerals is imperative for India to achieve its <keyword id="19895602" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="renewable-energy" source="keywords">renewable energy</keyword> goals," Konda said. India has committed to achieving 500 gigawatts (GW) of non-fossil fuel-based electricity installed capacity by 2030. Currently, the country's renewable energy installed capacity stands at 201 GW, with solar energy accounting for 91 GW. According to another study, the fast-developing South Asian nation needs to install around 7,000 GW of renewable energy capacity to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070.

NVIDIA and Reliance Industries to build AI computing infrastructure in India

The other bidders on the list included ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Limited, Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Private Limited, Anvi Power Industries Private Limited, <keyword id="21402810" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lucas-TVS" source="keywords">Lucas TVS</keyword> Limited, and Waaree Energies Limited. The bids for manufacturing facilities with a cumulative capacity of 70 GWh came in response to a global tender issued by the Heavy Industries Ministry on January 24 this year. "The scheme received an overwhelming response from industry as bids received is 7 times the manufacturing capacity of 10 GWh to be awarded," the ministry stated. The ministry had announced the re-bidding of Production Linked Incentives (PLI) for 10 GWh <keyword id="20049274" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Advanced-Chemistry-Cell" source="keywords">Advanced Chemistry Cell</keyword> (ACC) manufacturing. The pre-bid meeting was held on 12 February. The last date for receiving applications was April 22 and the technical bids were opened on Tuesday. In May 2021, the Union Cabinet had approved the PLI scheme for the National Programme on ACC battery storage with an outlay of Rs 18,100 crore. The scheme aims to achieve domestic manufacturing capacity of 50 Giga Watt hours (GWh) of battery storage. The first round of bidding was concluded in March 2022 and three companies were allocated a total capacity of 30 GWh. The agreement with selected companies was signed in July 2022. Reliance, JSW Neo Energy and 5 others bid for govt incentives to set up battery manufacturing units

A resolution through a postal ballot notice has been passed with requisite majority, the company said in a late night stock exchange filing on Wednesday. According to the postal ballot notice, the company will raise up to Rs 1,524.60 crore by preferential issue of up to 46.20 crore <keyword id="20035340" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="equity-shares" source="keywords">equity shares</keyword> and/or warrants convertible into equivalent number of equity shares at a price of Rs 33 per apiece. On September 23, the board of Reliance Power Ltd had approved raising Rs 1,524.60 crore through issue of preferential shares, wherein promoters will infuse Rs 600 crore into the company to advance its business. <div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="79183505" title="Happy Dhanteras 2024 messages and wishes" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div> Reliance Infrastructure, the promoter of the company, will enhance its equity stake by over Rs 600 crore. The fresh fund would be utilised for expansion of business operations directly and/or through investment in subsidiaries and joint ventures, debt reduction and for general corporate purposes, the company said. The preferential issue will enhance the company's net worth from about Rs 11,155 crore to over Rs 12,680 crore, it said. Reliance Power gets shareholders' nod to raise ₹1,525 crore via preferential shares

Billionaire Mukesh <keyword id="19898589" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ambani" source="keywords">Ambani</keyword>'s <keyword id="6355199" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-industries" source="Orion">Reliance Industries</keyword> Ltd will commission a new energy <keyword id="20278828" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="giga-complex" source="Orion">giga complex</keyword> in <keyword id="6354766" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gujarat" source="Orion">Gujarat</keyword> in the second half of 2024, the company said in an earnings statement and investor call. <keyword id="19936674" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance" source="keywords">Reliance</keyword> is building a giga complex spread over 5,000 acres in <keyword id="6361405" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jamnagar" source="Orion">Jamnagar</keyword> in Gujarat. The complex comprises five giga factories for photovoltaic panels, fuel cell system, green hydrogen, energy storage and power electronics. "On track to commence new energy facilities in phases this year," the company said in a post-third-quarter earnings call with investors. Post announcement of third-quarter earnings on Friday, Ambani stated that the "New Energy Giga Complex is all set to be commissioned in the second half of CY24. I am confident that Reliance's New <keyword id="679565" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="energy-business" source="Orion">Energy business</keyword> will play a pivotal role in the global movement for adoption of cleaner fuels." The Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex will be among the largest integrated renewable energy manufacturing facilities in the world. Reliance has signed an MoU with the Gujarat government to set up 100 gigawatt renewable power at Rs 5 lakh crore capex. It has received in-principle approval for 74,750 hectares (ha.) of land parcels in Kutch for green hydrogen. The firm has strategically invested in ten global technology innovators with strong expertise across the new energy value chain. "Reliance is nearing the commissioning of the first tranche of 5GW module manufacturing capacity in mid-CY24," Nuvama said in a January 17 note. It has via REC Solar signed a supply agreement with China-based Suzhou Maxwell Technologies to buy a high efficiency production line for HJT cells (4.8GW capacity). It signed a 5.2GW HJT module automation production agreement with China-based SC Solar in January 2023. It won PLIs under both rounds of solar modules PLI (Round 1: USD 0.3 billion, 4GW; Round 2: USD 0.4 billion, 6GW). Reliance (apart from Greenko) is the only company to win incentives for both green hydrogen and electrolysers concluded recently. It won incentives of USD 0.3 per kg for electrolyser capacity of 300MW and USD 0.23 for green hydrogen capacity of 90,000 tonnes. Besides, it has won PLI under ACC battery storage for 5GW capacity. "These incentives are likely to assist Reliance achieve a green hydrogen cost of USD 1' 1.5 per kg," Nuvama said. Given <keyword id="20002939" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ril" source="keywords">RIL</keyword> is the largest producer and consumer of grey hydrogen, transition to green hydrogen shall enable it to improve margins ahead, it said. The current green hydrogen cost hovers USD 3 per kg, which remains 1.5x compared to grey hydrogen produced using natural gas due to the high cost of generating solar/wind energy as well as high electrolyser cost. Presently, a hybrid of solar and wind remains the cheapest source of generating green hydrogen. The cost for solar remains the highest due to low PLF of electrolysers at 30' 35 per cent versus wind at 65' 70 per cent, and for hybrid 70' 75 per cent.

Reliance has been making significant strides in R&amp;D, with over ₹3,643 crore invested in FY24 alone, taking the total research expenditure to over ₹11,000 crore in the last four years.
