The Congress alleged the loans given by Yes Bank rose 100 per cent in just two years after demonetisation from Rs 98,210 crore in March 2016 to Rs 2,03,534 crore in March 2018. New Delhi, Apr 1 (PTI) The number of coronavirus patients in Delhi linked to the Tablighi Jamaat's congregation in Nizamuddin West, which is among the major COVID-19 hotspots in the country, rose sharply from 24 to 53 on Wednesday, while 617 people have been admitted to different hospitals, the city government said. The national capital has so far reported 152 positive coronavirus cases, according to the figures released by the Chief Minister's Office. It added that 53 cases are linked to the Tablighi Jamaat's markaz. The figure is likely to rise further substantially as the tests are being conducted on those admitted to hospitals, sources in the health department said. On Tuesday, there were 24 patients in Delhi linked to the Nizamuddin congregation. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the Delhi government, in coordination with the police, evacuated 2,361 people from the religious centre in Nizamuddin in a 36-hour operation. The police have already registered a case against Maulana Saad of the Nizamuddin markaz under sections of the Epidemic Disease Act and the Indian Penal Code for violating government orders on management of the centre in relation to social, political or religious gathering. However, they said the cleric is on the run. Taking to Twitter, Sisodia said out of the 2,361 people, 617 have been admitted to hospitals while the rest are quarantined. "The medical staff, administration, police and DTC staff worked together in this 36-hour operation, putting their lives at risk. Hats off to all of them," the deputy chief minister said in another tweet. Kejriwal too hailed the doctors for their work and announced Rs one crore for the families of healthcare personnel if they lose their lives while dealing with coronavirus cases in the national capital. Interacting with doctors, the chief minister said at present, the Delhi government gives Rs one crore to the families of soldiers belonging to the national capital if they die in the line of duty. Referring to an incident that occurred on Tuesday, Kejriwal said a patient under quarantine tried to commit suicide at the Rajiv Gandhi hospital. He was apparently referring to a person evacuated from the markaz. Kejriwal said he has spoken to the Home Secretary so that security can be stepped up for both patients and doctors. "Some patients are behaving very aggressively and as a result, no one wants to go near them. Yesterday, one patient tried to commit suicide at Rajiv Gandhi hospital, doctors pulled him back and saved him," he said. Meanwhile, the residents of a railway colony in southeast Delhi's Tughlakabad said that they feared for their safety after 167 people evacuated from the markaz were quarantined at a nearby makeshift facility. Sources said of the 167 people, 97 were accommodated in Diesel Shed Training School Hostel Quarantine Centre, 70 were accommodated at RPF Barrack Quarantine Centre that are being used as isolation centres by the district authorities on Tuesday evening. Residents alleged that the colony was not sanitised even 24 hours after the people were quarantined there. Fearing the spread of the virus, the residents remained indoors and could not even go out to procure essentials. "While standing near the bus, many of the people coughed, sneezed and even spat on the road. How are we to feel safe? " a resident told PTI. Sources say that senior officials of the railways have already spoken to the district authorities on the issue. "Railways have informed the relevant authorities and steps are being taken to ensure their safety," one of the sources said. "At the quarantine centre, they misbehaved with the staff and even raised objections over the food being served to them. "They even spit at the doctors and those attending them and refused to stop roaming around the quarantine facility. "We have informed the DM South East Delhi to arrange the necessary security to control them or to shift them to any other suitable place. At 5: 30 pm, four Delhi Police constables and six CRPF jawans along with PCR van have been deployed at Quarantine Centres, spokesperson Northern Railway Deepak Kumar said.

Asnlinger</keyword> led the successful formation of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, an international treaty that codifies all existing treaties on drug control, including the cultivation of plants that were grown or caused to be part of raw material that came under the umbrella of narcotic drugs. Once signed, this convention also limits the manufacture, production, possession, use, trade, distribution, import and export of narcotic drugs, save for medical and scientific pursuits. 
 <keyword id="3658" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="India">India</keyword>, under the tenure of Jawaharlal Nehru, the nation's first prime minister, to honour its obligations with the Convention on Psychotropic Substances and the United Nations Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, signed the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 30 March, 1961. And on 13 December, 1964 the treaty was ratified. However, international treaties or conventions were not going to clip the wings of India's holistic connection with marijuana. Just not yet. 
 When <keyword id="191987" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ronald-Reagan">Ronald Reagan</keyword> became the 40th US president, his administration began twisting the arm of <keyword id="12596" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rajiv-Gandhi">Rajiv Gandhi</keyword> to make marijuana illegal in India. Consequentially, in 1985, India established the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). Before this act, India could and was able to practically dance in the open about its consumption or sale of marijuana. 
 54 years before we had successfully negotiated with and had finally managed to ask the British to leave us their alphabet and take their letters and go back to where they came from, they were pretty impressed with our deep-rooted weed economics. So in 1893, the British appointed a joint study called '<keyword id="2885065" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Indian-Hemp-Drugs-Commission">Indian Hemp Drugs Commission</keyword>' concerning the growth, manufacture, consumption, and social-cultural impacts from the intake of marijuana in any form. 
 
One year later, the conclusion set on top of a 3,281 page report, along with the testimony from almost 1,200 people belonging to diverse cultures, ethnicities, professions, builds, and mindset was - “moderate use of hemp drugs was practically attended by no evil results at all. The intake produces no injuries on the mind and there is no moral injury whatsoever.”

Our brains have neurotransmitters and receptors. The former sends messages. The latter receives them. Accordingly delegations are made to execute the desired movement or action. Now, if Mary Jane strikes us in the Amygdala, the receptor that regulates fear and anxiety, we are going to be scared or paranoid for something. If Mary Jane flirts with our Hypothalamus, receptors that regulate sexual behaviour and appetite, we will experience an increase in the appetite and feel aroused beyond our regular frame. And when Mary Jane caresses our spinal cord that is responsible for the transmission of information between body and brain, we will experience our pain sensitivities being altered – one of the reasons why marijuana is used as a pain suppressant or stress reliever. 
 
We primarily have nine distinguished cannabinoid receptors in the brain. Very rarely weed strikes more than three receptors at the same time. 
 
The 10th Receptor Strikes the masses. Rocks the social network. Critiques the critics. Being from a right wing party, we are sure an empathy can be made about the tradition, association and fact that we as a nation is attached to weed like a a mother is to her child, through the umbilical cord. The cord may be cut. But the bond will remain. It's a sacred bond. Do you think you could help us secure that bond, Mr Modi? 
 
Expectations kill. So does smoking marijuana, right? That's what men with guns and tear gas make us believe every time we step forward with a petition on our tongue. So anyway, I think we will just pray for now that you help us secure the treaty to our freedom to bask in the glory of cloud nine.

New Delhi, Feb 21 () Competition Commission of India has given approval for GMR group's proposed 49 per cent stake sale in its airport business to France's Groupe ADP.The regulator's clearance is through the green channel, which allows for an automatic system for speedy approval of combinations, subject to certain conditions.On Thursday, GMR Infrastructure said the French group would acquire 49 per cent stake in its airport business for Rs 10,780 crore, a deal that will help the domestic entity reduce its debt burden.In a tweet on Friday, the watchdog said it has received "green channel combination filing from Aeroports de Paris SA for acquisition of 49 per cent stake in GMR Airports Ltd and 100 per cent stake in GMR Infra Services Ltd".Applications received under the green channel are deemed approved.Aeroports de Paris SA (ADP) would buy 100 per cent stake in GMR Infra Services Ltd and then 49 per cent shareholding in GMR Airports Ltd (GAL), as per a notice submitted to the regulator.GMR Infra Services is an operating and holding company. Its primary business is to hold shares in GAL, according to the notice.Under a share purchase agreement, Groupe ADP would have 49 per cent stake in GAL for an equity consideration of Rs 10,780 crore.Out of the total amount, Rs 9,780 crore would be towards secondary sale of shares by GMR group and Rs 1,000 crore would be equity infusion in GAL, GMR Infrastructure said in a statement on Thursday."As part of the terms of transaction, GMR will retain management control over the Airports Business with Groupe ADP having the customary rights and board representation at GAL &amp; its key subsidiaries," it had said.Earlier, GMR group was to enter into a deal with Tatas for the airport business.A GMR group spokesperson confirmed that the deal with Tatas has been called off.GMR Group operates Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and Mactan Cebu International Airport in partnership with Megawide in Philippines.Groupe ADP develops and manages airports, including Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Paris-Orly and Paris-Le Bourget.According to the notice that was submitted to the CCI regarding the deal with Groupe ADP, there are no horizontal overlaps, vertical links or complementary businesses between the acquirer and the targets in India.While the acquirer is Groupe ADP, the targets referred in the notice are GMR Infra Services Ltd and GAL."In the absence of any overlaps between the parties in India, the proposed combination does not raise any risk of adverse effect on competition in India, and is accordingly being submitted through the 'Green Channel' route...," the notice said. New Delhi, Nov 15 () Essar Ports on Friday said it has completed work on a passenger ferry terminal at Hazira, paving the way for cruise-based service between Surat and Mumbai.
 The terminal has been built in record eight months' time, it added.
 "Essar Bulk Terminal Ltd (EBTL), a part of Essar Ports...has completed work on the Passenger Ferry Terminal that has paved the way for a cruise-based passenger ferry service, commencing today, between Hazira Port in Surat and Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai. The Hazira-based terminal will also lead to ferry services being offered on other routes in the future," Essar Ports said in a statement.
 Phase I of the terminal project will focus on the movement of passengers between Hazira in Surat and Mumbai. The company said it plans to extend the service to other coastal locations in Gujarat.
 "The ferry service will be a huge boost to tourism in Gujarat. We look forward to contributing to similar projects that will help unleash the tremendous potential of coastal transport in India by using the country's extensive network of inland waterways," said Rajiv Agarwal, MD and CEO, Essar Ports.
 The company said the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) had given its permission to EBTL to develop and operate a passenger ferry terminal at Hazira, where the company also operates a 50 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) dry bulk cargo terminal.
 "We are proud to have commissioned the project in record time to pave the way for the launch of this revolutionary ferry service," said Subhas Das, CEO, EBTL.
