The highest package offered was ₹25 lakh per year, the average package was ₹8,31,000 and the median package offered was ₹6,54,000. According to the data report shared by the <keyword id="12255129" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Placement-cell-of-SRCC" source="Orion">Placement cell of SRCC</keyword>, the recruitment drive registered a record 32.34% increment in the gross value of offers to a massive ₹30.48 crores. The report also highlights that there was a 29.62% surge in the number of offers given by companies to SRCC students despite COVID-19. The top-recruiting companies were McKinsey &amp; Company, Bain Capability Network, Dalberg Advisors, Deutsche Bank, Citibank, Accenture Strategy, Fischer Jordan. The internship season 2020-21 also recorded a significant result with the highest stipend offered was a whopping ₹1,50,000 per month, while the average stipend offered was ₹34,000 per month. Companies like Hindustan Unilever, DE Shaw, EY were top internship recruiters this season who extended offers across various domains. “Though we were a bit sceptical initially due to the economic recession, our fears turned out to be unfounded as the number of placement recruiters and the number of offers reached an all-time high. Moreover, as the competition for hiring the best talent intensifies, many recruiters have resorted to the PPO route, leading to 22 PPOs in this season, a milestone in itself.” said Ansh Goyal, Chief Secretary of SRCC’s Placement cell. Campus recruitment at SRCC hits all-time high ⁠— the highest package offered is ₹25 lakh a year

The highest offered bagged by these freshers stood at over ₹30 lakh. </li><li>Among the top recruiters were Gartner, EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, Samsung and Accenture. For the 2019-20 placement season, the average salary package at LSR and SRCC went up from ₹7.5 lakh to ₹10 lakh per annum. The highest offered bagged by these freshers stood at over ₹30 Lakh. As many as 130 students received job offers at SRCC. “We haven't seen an overall impact of the slowdown in placements. The number of companies coming has more or less remained the same since last year, however the number of students that were made an offer to have increased,” Kanika K Ahuja, placement in-charge at LSR told ET. The students who get admission to these Delhi University-affiliated colleges have to score over 95% in the 12th grade — due to high cut-offs. Among the top recruiters were Gartner, EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, Samsung and Accenture. On the other hand, <keyword id="311892" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shaheed-Sukhdev-College-of-Business-Studies">Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies</keyword> (SCBS), which is ranked as the second best undergraduate b-school in India, bagged 106 offers at an average compensation of over ₹7 lakh. The highest offer stood at ₹18 lakh per annum. The average compensation at other DU colleges fluctuated between ₹6 lakh to ₹10 lakh per annum. While the overall average salaries in India went up by 45% for undergraduate students. This is despite the economic downturn in the country. The growing trend of summer placements The growing trend of summer placements and pre-placement offers too might have had an effect on the increased interest of recruiters. Companies like Deutsche Bank, Citi Bank are also banking on summer placements to assess talent, thereby extending pre-placement offers. At SCBS, Goldman Sachs visited the campus to hire interns for their investment banking division. Students also received PPOs from companies like KPMG, RocSearch and Grofers. Delhi University students bag job offers that pay as much as ₹31 lakh per annum

According to SRCC, there was a 32% increase in the average package and a 25% increase in its median package in the year 2019-20, in comparison to last year. Placements during a pandemic SRCC is one of the top commerce institutions in India. For students to get admission into the college, they have to score over 95% in 12th grade just to get in. And, the cut-offs are only increasing every year. The first phase of the placement drive at SRCC began in December with as many as 130 students receiving job offers. The highest package offered in the first phase was ₹31 lakh a year. The second drive was scheduled in January. However, once the coronavirus pandemic kicked in, it slowed down the process. Moreover, offers of 13 students who were placed in the first phase of the placement drive were either revoked or delayed. Despite the slowdown, it held the second phase of the placement drive and managed to get over 225 job offers from 120 recruiters for its undergraduate students. Around 554 students from the batch 2020, were registered with SRCC’s Placement Cell for jobs and internships. “It was quite challenging to be able to digitalise the entire process quickly and seamlessly, given that COVID had taken a drastic toll on the recruitment sector,” Vikram Nanda, Chief Secretary of the placement cell at SRCC, said in a statement. SRCC has further managed to get new offers for some of the students whose offers were revoked in the first drive. “As a team, we were happy with the fact that our statistics were still on a gradual rise and didn’t record any fall amidst the hiring freeze,” said Nanda. SRCC is now developing a virtual recruitment portal for the upcoming placement drive for the year 2020-21. They say they are very optimistic about the upcoming season and expect increased participation in online hiring as well. It is expecting McKinsey and Kearney, and FTI Consulting to make an offer to their undergraduate students in the upcoming season. Currently, 516 students from the batch of 2021 are registered with the placement cell. Shri Ram College of Commerce sees a 32% increase in the average pay package as it ends its placement drive amid COVID-19

The booming startup ecosystem in India is definitely good news for the job market in the country. The placement season has seen startups companies flocking the gates of top undergraduate colleges such as <keyword id="6360029" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="LSR">LSR</keyword> and <keyword id="6363378" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="SRCC">SRCC</keyword> to offer lofty pay packages. 
	 
	Wonder what are the packages that are being offered to these undergraduates? Well, some are as fat as Rs 29 lakh per year. 
	 For instance, in LSR, the placement has just begun and 65 students have already been placed. Start-ups such as <keyword id="2550719" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="OYO-Rooms">OYO Rooms</keyword>, Vmock and BlueGape have been high on hiring undergraduate students from these colleges. 
	 
	"The placements this year have been phenomenal and definitely a major leap from our performance last year," said Kanika K Ahuja, the placement cell convener at LSR. She added, “By the end of just the first placement season, we have managed to beat our own record of the highest package from last year (Rs 18 lakh) to this season's highest placement of Rs 29 lakh (also highest in the University of Delhi). This is surely one of the best years we have had.” 
	 However, startups aren’t the only ones who are betting big on undergraduates. Seven year old <keyword id="2796775" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Car-Dekho">Car Dekho</keyword> plans to hire 150 college students this season. While companies such as <keyword id="6357341" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Deutsche-Bank">Deutsche Bank</keyword>, <keyword id="6372399" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="McKinsey">McKinsey</keyword>, <keyword id="165158" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="AT-Kearney">AT Kearney</keyword>, EY, Grand Thornton has already hired over 200 students from SRCC. The placement cell at SRCC is currently in talks with firms such as Goldman Sachs and Parthenon-EY for placements.
