But there are certain things that you must remember and double-check before you click on submit ITR-from picking out the right form to ensuring that all the details you’ve furnished are correct. <keyword id="22865833" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="online-vendors" source="keywords">Online vendors</keyword> have generated 15.8 million <keyword id="19914922" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jobs" source="keywords">jobs</keyword> in <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="India" source="keywords">India</keyword>, including 3.5 million for women, with about 1.76 million retail enterprises participating in <keyword id="19990771" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="e-commerce" source="keywords">e-commerce</keyword> activity, says a report released on Wednesday. The report 'Assessing the Net Impact of e-Commerce on <keyword id="19898684" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="employment" source="keywords">Employment</keyword> and Consumer Welfare in India' was launched by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. "Plugging in data from our survey, we estimate that online vendors generate 15.8 million jobs, including 3.5 million jobs for women," the report prepared by Pahle India Foundation (PIF), a Delhi-based policy research institute, said. E-commerce, according to the report, has been a key driver of employment generation In India. On an average, online vendors employ 54 per cent more people and almost twice the number of female employees, compared to offline vendors. The report noted that two of the most widely-recognised contributions of e-commerce penetration in the retail sector are --growth in employment and improvements in consumer welfare. It said rather than displacing physical markets, e-commerce is expanding into new territories like tier 3 cities. "Our data shows that a higher percentage of Tier 3 city consumers spend more than Rs 5,000 per month on online shopping as compared to consumers from bigger cities," it said, adding this is the India consumption story, which enables the co-existence of physical and digital retail. The study analysed the impact e-commerce has had on employment and consumer welfare through a pan-India survey of 2,062 online vendors, 2,031 offline vendors, and 8,209 consumers of products from e-commerce websites across 35 cities in 20 states and UTs. According to the report, each e-commerce vendor on an average employs about 9 people, of which 2 are female, while each offline vendor employs about 6 people, of which only 1 is female. It pointed out that there was increase in employment across skill levels, including high-skilled (management, marketing), medium-skilled (customer service, operations), and low-skilled (warehousing, logistics, delivery) functions. The report said that the growth of e-commerce and accompanying digitalisation have fundamentally changed the skill sets and roles required in the industry. "Vendors have experienced improved business performance parameters since listing online, including higher sales and profits," it said. According to the report, 60 per cent and 52 per cent of vendors, respectively, state that their sales and profits have increased since the time they have started selling online. "Overall, more than two thirds of the online vendors interviewed experienced an increase in online sales value and profits in the past year," the report said, adding that 58 per cent saw an increase in both. Barring costs, it said vendors have seen a positive shift in all other aspects of business performance since they started selling online. The report said there is a strong business case for offline vendors to list on e-commerce platforms or pursue an omni-channel strategy. "E-commerce integration has accrued significant benefits to vendors from smaller cities and micro-enterprises," it said. The study also delves into how e-commerce has reshaped consumer behaviour, noting that consumers have shifted to online shopping for reasons that include convenience, product variety, and access. "A highly engaged consumer base is indicated by the fact that more than 50 per cent of all respondents to the survey spent more than two hours on e-commerce platforms a week, and that 70 per cent made a purchase via e-commerce in the last month alone," it said. Speaking at the event, former NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar said, e-commerce has revolutionized India's retail landscape. Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation(MoSPI) secretary Saurabh Garg lauded the government's initiatives expanding digital public infrastructure that have enabled the smooth expansion of e-commerce. Eventually, they shot Bich in the head, killing her. They shot Hann in the shoulder and the face, and he survived.Hann's recollection of the evening, once he woke from a medically induced coma, cast further suspicion on Pan. He remembered seeing his daughter speaking casually with one of the men and walking around the home unbound despite saying that she had been restrained and eventually tied to a banister. Pan was arrested after her third interview with police, and eventually, her co-accused — Wong, and the three men who entered the Pan home — were arrested in the spring of 2011, per Toronto Life.<h2>Felix testified during his sister's trial</h2>The Toronto Sun reported that Felix was a witness during Pan's trial. During his testimony, he said that he didn't doubt Pan's lies about attending university, and answered affirmatively when asked whether he "loved" and "respected" her.Felix also reportedly said during the trial that he and Pan "had a closer attachment" to their mother than their father, telling lawyers that he felt like he could "talk to her about things." Things with his father were different, however."Dad was very old school… He was very controlling," Felix said during the trial, per the publication. "It's just the way my dad is… It's sort of like tough love."Felix also wrote a victim impact statement that was read in court on the day of Pan's sentencing, though he did not appear in court then. According to the Toronto Sun, he said in his statement that now, when employers looked him up online, they would find information about his sister's crime."Like a dark shadow, this is something that I can not hide from," Felix wrote. "I lost my mother."Toronto Life reported in 2015 that Felix had moved to the east coast of Canada. Besides, GST on online gaming and casinos may come up for deliberations at the Council meeting. The Group of Ministers (GoM), chaired by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, set up last year on the issue had submitted its report to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday. The Council would also consider a report of tax officers and give clarity on the rate applicability in certain goods and services. "Union Finance Minister Smt. @nsitharaman chairs the 48th meeting of the GST Council via virtual mode, in New Delhi, today," the finance ministry tweeted. With regard to decriminalisation of offences, the law committee of the GST Council, comprising tax officers from the Centre and states, has suggested to the Council to increase the monetary threshold for launching prosecution for GST offences. The law committee has also suggested that the fee payable by taxpayer for compounding of GST offences be lowered to 25 per cent of the tax amount, from up to 150 per cent currently, with a view to improving ease of doing business. It has suggested raising the threshold of launching prosecution to Rs 20 crore, from Rs 5 crore at present. Launching of prosecution by taxmen means commencement of legal proceedings against the offender. The report of the GoM on tax evasion by pan masala and gutkha companies is likely to be taken up for discussion in the Council, sources said. With regard to setting up of Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunals (GSTATs), the GoM has suggested that the tribunals should consist of two judicial members, and one technical member each from the Centre and states, besides a retired Supreme Court judge as President, sources said. The GoM on GSTATs was set up in July under the chairmanship of Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala. With regard to taxation of online gaming, casinos and horse racing, the GoM, in its last meeting in November, had agreed on a 28 per cent GST on these segments. However, in absence of consensus on whether the tax should be levied on only the fees charged by the portal or the entire consideration, including the bet amount, received from participants, the GoM had decided to refer all suggestions to the GST Council for a final decision. Currently, online gaming attracts 18 per cent GST. The tax is levied on gross gaming revenue, which is the fees charged by online gaming portals. This whole system is supported by a large, haphazard and unorganised system of wholesalers largely. However, in order to grow to its true potential, the retail system will have to bank on organised electronic business-to-business (eB2B) players going forward, according to a report by advisory firm Redseer. The rationale for the argument is that India is a potential $950 billion retail market and thus will do better if served by multi-category platforms, which in turn will smoothen processes for the front end player. Multi-category platforms offer products across groceries - both staples and <keyword id="34523" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="fmcg" source="Orion">FMCG</keyword>, electronics and accessories, general merchandise, fashion, and others. Current picture As per the Redseer report, there are few such big eB2B platforms which have a <keyword id="106831" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pan-india" source="Orion">pan-India</keyword> play currently. Most are eB2B platforms that operate in fewer categories or verticals and access regional and national levels. “Over the last few months, many of these vertical platforms have been struggling, and across categories have shown limited growth/ been flat or declined due to challenging unit economics and prevailing macro-economic conditions, while multi-category platforms like Udaan have gained market share to reach 55-60% of the retailer-led eB2B market,” said <keyword id="4436374" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="mrigank-gutgutia" source="Orion">Mrigank Gutgutia</keyword>, partner at Redseer. Udaan is a B2B trade platform, designed specifically for small and medium businesses. Why multicategory platforms? Retailers are dogged by many issues that come with an unorganised market, and there is a case for new-age eB2B platforms that can solve these issues. “The fragmented market puts retailers at a disadvantage procuring from traditional channels owing to price opacity, slow/no deliveries, stockouts, and inconsistent product quality, among other challenges,” says a Redseer report. Retailers who decide to take their business online from the traditional channels, seek competitive rates across categories, and might have to resort to multiple B2B suppliers. “For instance, a retailer might procure rice from a particular eB2B platform and choose a different one for detergent. Unless the same platform can offer both at competitive rates, the retailer would buy from different platforms based on their margins,” Redseer said. Enabling this competitiveness requires cross-leveraging capabilities and costs, and multi-category first-party (1P) platforms with inventory-based models have a distinct advantage, the consulting firm says. While grocery and staples provide them with volumes, discretionary items might be able to drive margins — both which are needed to be in this large market. Growth path and way forward According to Redseer, India’s eB2B market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate or CAGR of 40-45% – i.e. from $5-6 billion in 2022 to $90-$100 billion by 2030. “Growth in this market will be led by deepening penetration among retailers across categories and geographies, and a higher wallet share for eB2B platforms. Retailers will get habituated and reap the benefits offered by these platforms, such as cheaper procurement, faster deliveries, higher fill rates, and consistency in product quality,” said Mrigank.

(Eds: Adds details) New Delhi, Dec 30 () The last date for the mandatory linking of the <keyword id="134255" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="permanent-account-number">Permanent Account Number</keyword> (PAN) with Aadhaar has been extended till March next year, the CBDT said on Monday. The earlier deadline was Tuesday, December 31. "The due date for linking of PAN with Aadhaar as specified under sub-section 2 of section 139AA of the Income-tax Act, 1961 has been extended from December 31, 2019 to March 31, 2020," the department said on its official Twitter handle. This is the eighth time that the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for individuals to link their PAN with Aadhaar. The Supreme Court, in September last year, had declared the Centre's flagship Aadhaar scheme as constitutionally valid and held that the biometric ID would remain mandatory for the filing of I-T returns and allotment of the PAN. Section 139 AA (2) of the Income Tax Act says that every person having PAN as on July 1, 2017, and is eligible to obtain Aadhaar, must intimate his Aadhaar number to tax authorities. Aadhaar is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to a resident of India and PAN is a 10-digit alphanumeric number allotted by the I-T department to a person, firm or entity.
