New Delhi, Mar 2 () Online used car retailing platform Spinny on Monday said it has raised USD 43.7 million (about Rs 315 crore) funding led by Fundamentum Partnership (FP), a growth-capital fund backed by Nandan Nilekani and Sanjeev Aggarwal. The series-B round also saw participation from new investors, US-based General Catalyst Partners, Korea-based KB Financial Group and existing investors Accel, SAIF Partners and Alteria Capital as co-investors, a statement said. Ashish Kumar, Partner, FP will join the Spinny board, it added. The funds will be used to invest in technology, strengthen business teams, enhance customer experience and, expand to newer cities, it added. Spinny had raised its seed round from Blume Ventures and Simile Ventures, and most recently it had closed its Series A round of USD 13.2 million co-led by SAIF Partners and Accel in April last year. It is currently present across four cities in India and has sold close to 10,000 cars through its platform. "The FP team was impressed with Spinny team's ability to use technology to solve for operational friction in the business, and thereby build a sustainable advantage," Nandan Nilekani, co-founder and Chairman, FP said. This fits into FP's thesis of backing long term-oriented entrepreneurs to solve complex business problems using technology and who aspire to build a company at scale and to last, he added. "With the closure of this round of funding, we are excited to have on-board new investors Fundamentum, General Catalyst and KB Financial Group in our journey and, look to leverage their vast experience across both venture and operating roles," Spinny co-founder and CEO Niraj Singh said. According to industry reports, for every new car sold in India, approximately 1.3 used cars are sold. Currently, the Indian pre-owned car market stands at about 4.3 million units sold annually, growing at about 14 per cent CAGR. However, only about 18 per cent of the market is organised. But in the afternoon, she decided to check her phone, instantly ruining the happy family get-together for her.That's when Amin saw that she'd received a flood of disturbing text messages from friends warning that her photo had been featured on the "Bulli Bai" app.Her heart sank. "It felt triggering and humiliating," she said during a phone call with Insider.<div type="image" title="Hasiba Amin" height="2978" width="3971" msid="88794208" hostid="261"></div>Amin, who works as the social media convenor for India's Congress Party, was one of more than 100 influential Muslim women featured on "Bulli Bai" — an app hosted on GitHub, which has since been taken down."Bulli Bai" is a phrase that combines vulgar slang for the word "penis" in southern India with a word common in northern India meaning "maid," according to Mohammed Zubair, co-founder of Indian fact-checking website Alt <keyword id="11893589" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="news" source="Orion">News</keyword>, per <a href="https://edition.cnn.com/2022/01/03/tech/bulli-bai-india-muslim-women-sale-intl-hnk/index.html">CNN.</a>"Bulli Bai" featured stolen images of exclusively Muslim women and offered them for "sale" in fake auctions.Users "offered their price" for the women by sharing their profiles to Twitter in quote tweets, Amin said. "The commentary was very sexual in nature, extremely explicit," she explained. "They were also very classist and Islamophobic."<div type="image" title="A screenshot of the Bulli Bai app." height="585" width="365" msid="88794210" hostid="261"></div>Indian police have arrested four people in connection with the app, <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-59891036">BBC News </a>reported. Vishal Jha, Shweta Singh, Mayank Rawal, and Niraj Bishnoi — all between 18 and 21 years old — are suspects, per the Indian newspaper <a href="https://theprint.in/opinion/newsmaker-of-the-week/bulli-bai-app-and-the-descent-of-indias-educated-youth-into-using-tech-for-anti-muslim-hate/798349/">The Print.</a>This isn't the first attempt to harass <keyword id="11894456" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="muslims" source="Orion">Muslims</keyword> in India by using their stolen photos in a fake auction.In July last year, Amin's photo was featured on an app called "Sulli Deals." The photos of more than 80 Muslim women were displayed, with some featuring as "deals of the day."Police have investigated "Sulli Deals," per BBC News, but nobody has been charged in connection with it.Hana Mohsin Khan, a commercial pilot from Noida, was featured in "Sulli Deals" last summer. She described the experience as "traumatic." <div type="image" title="Sulli Deals app" height="1024" width="554" msid="88794213" hostid="261"></div>Khan told Insider that when she checked out "Bulli Bai" on New Year's Day, she was horrified to see several of her friends included this time around."People were laughing, commenting, saying horrible things, sharing it on their page as if we were cattle or animals," she said. "We are being viciously targeted," she said. Qurutulain Rehbar, a Kashmiri journalist who featured on both apps, told Insider that apps' names alone signal that they were designed to "dehumanize" Muslim women. The terms "bulli" and "sulli" are sexist and usually Islamophobic slurs typically used by internet trolls."These are derogatory terms which Hindu radicals use," Rehbar explained. "It's hard being a Muslim woman in India, and I think their intention is to make us feel humiliated."Amin agreed, saying that the apps exist in an "ecosystem of hate" that is bolstered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's support of Hindu nationalism that promotes the hegemony of Hinduism in India.According to <a href="https://www.ohchr.org/Documents/Issues/Religion/Islamophobia-AntiMuslim/Civil%20Society%20or%20Individuals/CitizensAgainstHate.pdf">a recent report</a> by Delhi-based human rights organization Citizens Against Hate, there has been a rise of Islamophobic hate crimes in India since Modi came to power in 2014.And it's not only social media that is used to threaten India's 200 million Muslims. Vigilante violence against Muslims by Hindu nationalist groups has become more widespread. Experts have warned, according to <a href="https://www.dw.com/en/india-are-anti-muslim-attacks-becoming-the-norm/a-60046964">DW,</a> that anti-Muslim attacks are now becoming rampant in India. Amin said that knowing the political climate in India, she fears the humiliation she endured online could translate into "real-life" violence."If I'm dehumanized and my picture is out there, or my Twitter handle is out there, my details are probably out there," she said. "What guarantee do I have that someone will not see me on the road and actually come and attack me?"

Within a span of few weeks, the Indian sales arm of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=volkswagen">Volkswagen Group</a> saw three top-level exits. 
 
Anil Reddi, director of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Porsche">Porsche brand</a>, Nalin Jain, Group CFO and Niraj Srivastava, head of sales of Audi in India have resigned. 
 
Reportedly, Jain and Srivastava had put in their papers last month. Reddi, who resigned on Tuesday, and Srivastava have been relieved, whereas Jain is serving his notice period. 
 
While, Srivastava and Jain's positions are yet to be filled up, Thierry Lespiaucq, Group MD, is likely to manage the Porsche brand till the time for Reddi's replacement has been found. 
 
Reddi joined Porsche in 2012and had tripled Porsche brand <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=car+sales">sales</a> in India to 700 in 2015 during his tenure. 
 
However, Porsche had to shut down Hyderabad and Chandigarh dealerships. He was mired by a controversy when businessmen Gautam Singhania had tweeted that Porsche India's management and Reddi were 'arrogant'. 
 
Meanwhile, Jain joined Volkswagen in October 2010 as head of financial controlling and was promoted as the CFO in January 2013. 
Srivastava had joined Audi as national sales head and during his tenure, Audi had become the first <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=luxury+cars">luxury brand</a> in India to cross 10,000. Not only these, <keyword id="1135332" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Volkswagen-Group-India">Volkswagen Group India</keyword> faced many resignations in the past as well. 
 Head of dealer development for the Volkswagen brand, Hardeep Singh Brar, moved to <keyword id="4581" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="general-motors">General Motors</keyword> India. 
 
Company’s revenue has remained in the range of Rs 8,000 crore over the past three years till the end of fiscal 2014. 
 
The Volkswagen Group Sales India was set up in 2007-08 with VW and Audi brand.
