New Delhi, May 1 () The railways will charge state governments for ferrying people stranded due to the coronavirus-triggered lockdown in its 'Shramik Special' trains, according to an order issued on Friday. The fare would include cost of sleeper class ticket, superfast charge of Rs 30 and Rs 20 for meals and water per passenger. After more than a month of suspension of services, the railways on Friday, which is also International Labour Day, announced six "Shramik Special" trains for migrant workers, students and others who were stranded due to the lockdown. The first such service was run with 1,200 passengers from Hyderabad to Jharkhand at 4:50 am on Friday. The other five which are scheduled to run include -- Nasik to Lucknow (at 9:30 pm), Aluva to Bhubaneswar (6 pm), Nasik to Bhopal (8 pm), Jaipur to Patna and Kota to Hatia (9 pm). Each train is expected to carry 1,000-1,200 passengers. "Passengers need not buy anything from the railways. State governments will coordinate and pay on their behalf," the railways said. Thousands of migrants were stranded in places across the country since the lockdown was enforced on March 25, many even attempting to walk home hundreds of kilometres away. On Friday, the Ministry of Home Affairs gave permission to the railways to run special trains for migrants and those stranded in different parts of the country. States like Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Bihar, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Telangana have requested special trains to ferry migrant workers back to their home states. "As per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been decided to run 'Shramik Special' trains from 'Labour Day' today to move migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded at different places due to the lockdown. "These special trains will be run from point to point on the request of both the state governments concerned as per the standard protocols for sending and receiving such stranded persons. The railways and state governments shall appoint senior officials as nodal officers for coordination and a smooth operation of these 'Shramik Specials'," the national transporter said. Officials said that a list of hundreds of such services have been planned by zonal railways over the coming days. The railways also clarified that that these are special trains planned for nominated people identified and registered by state governments. "No one under any circumstance should come to Railway station looking for trains. We will not issue any tickets to any individual or entertain any request from any group or individual. We will allow only those passengers to board whom state govt officials will bring to Railway Stations. The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), the highest decision-making body for security issues headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the purchase of 83 Tejas fighter jets for the <keyword id="15141" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Air-Force">Indian Air Force</keyword> at a cost of Rs 48,000 crore, including infrastructure. The CCS approved the largest indigenous defence procurement deal worth about Rs 48,000 crore to strengthen the IAF's fleet of homegrown Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)-Tejas. "This deal will be a game changer for self reliance in the Indian defence manufacturing," Union Defence Minister <keyword id="6355121" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rajnath-Singh">Rajnath Singh</keyword> said. Giving out details about the Cabinet decision, the <keyword id="43909" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Defence-ministry">Defence Ministry</keyword> in a statement said: "The Cabinet has approved procurement of 73 LCA Tejas Mk-1A fighter aircraft and 10 LCA Tejas Mk-1 trainer aircraft at the cost of Rs 45,696 crore along with design and development of infrastructure sanctions worth Rs 1,202 crore." Light Combat Aircraft Mk-1A variant is an indigenously designed, developed and manufactured state-of-the-art modern 4+ generation fighter aircraft. This aircraft is equipped with critical operational capabilities of Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar, Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missile, Electronic Warfare (EW) Suite and Air to Air Refuelling (AAR) would be a potent platform to meet the operational requirements of Indian Air Force, IAF. The LCA-Tejas is going to be the backbone of the IAF fighter fleet in the years to come. LCA-Tejas incorporates a large number of new technologies many of which were never attempted in India. The indigenous content of LCA-Tejas is 50 per cent in the Mk1A variant which will be enhanced to 60 per cent. The Light Combat Aircraft Tejas is indigenously designed by the Aircraft Development Agency (ADA) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and manufactured by <keyword id="86569" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hindustan-Aeronautics-Limited">Hindustan Aeronautics Limited</keyword> (HAL). The HAL has already set up second line manufacturing facilities at its Nasik and Bengaluru Divisions. Equipped with the augmented infrastructure the HAL will steer LCA-Mk1A production for timely deliveries to the IAF. "The decision taken today will considerably expand the current LCA ecosystem and help in creating new job opportunities," the minister said. HAL follows a system integrator model in the LCA Mk1A programme and acts as an umbrella organisation, fostering manufacturing and design capabilities in private industry. The first squadron of the Light Combat Aircraft, Tejas was raised in 2016. The manufacturing of 83 jets will not only be a boost for 'Make in India' or self reliance but help in filling the gaps in the Indian Air Force as its current fleet is down to 30 squadrons, way below the sanctioned strength of 42. Each squadron comprises 18 fighter jets. These 73 Mark 1A jets are in addition to the 40 Mark 1 already ordered by the IAF. Last year in March, the <keyword id="6369097" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="ministry-of-defence">Ministry of Defence</keyword> gave the go-ahead for the purchase of 73 Tejas Mark 1A aircraft for the Indian Air Force. This was a major breakthrough as after cost negotiations for over three years between the Ministry of Defence and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the price for procurement of the advanced variant of the indigenously-made Light Combat Aircraft Tejas was slashed. New Delhi, Jun 11 () Worried over death of bank employees due to coronavirus, the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has demanding regular sanitisation of branches, Rs 1,000 daily allowance and Rs 50 lakh insurance cover for bank staff as provided to healthcare workers. In a letter to the Department of Financial Services, the UFBU has said 11 bank employees have already died due to coronavirus and additional steps are needed to ensure safety of staff. The UFBU, an umbrella organisation of bank unions, said bank employees and branches are facing problems due to non-availability of transport and reduced number of security staff and workers responsible for cleanliness of branch premises. Among other things, the UFBU demanded that bank branches to be regularly sanitised and provided adequate security for regulating entry. Also, senior and women employees be allowed to work from home and those attending the duty at branches be given a daily allowance of Rs 1,000. According to the last week's letter to the ministry, the bank union also demanded that transport facility be provided to bank employees, and the central government compensation scheme of Rs 50 lakh insurance be extended to bank employees along with compassionate appointment in case of death. "All the centres such as Mumbai, Nasik, Aurangabad, Pune and similar such places be covered under above provisions of work such as 50 per cent attendance, work from home facility, alternate day attendance, flexi timings, and the same be implemented uniformly in all banks at all such areas," the union said. Bank employees from Maharashtra and more particularly from Mumbai are striving their level best to provide continued banking services to the common people despite the numerous difficulties faced by them and in the process, 11 bank employees have lost their lives due to COVID-19, it said. As per the letter, these deceased staff include three from State Bank of India, one from Punjab National Bank, one from Federal Bank, one from Central Bank of India, two from Bank of India, one from IDBI, one from Canara Bank, and one from Bank of Maharashtra. Also, one employee from Federal Bank and an executive from Central Bank of India, even though were not diagnosed as coronavirus-affected, were suspected to have died of the same, it said. "In view of increasing deaths of the bank employees from the Mumbai Metropolitan Area employees have become perturbed and in this background, there is a need to give them some comfort in attending their duties, failing which it will be difficult to give uninterrupted services," the letter said. When the vapor's temperature gets low enough, it gets turned back into water.The presence of that vapor becomes especially apparent in the summer, when droplets collect on glasses of ice water and air conditioning units drip onto unsuspecting passersby.An Israeli company called <a href="http://www.water-gen.com/" target="_blank">Water-Gen</a> does not think of that condensation as a byproduct; instead, it has built machines specifically designed to create and harvest as much condensation as possible. Using a system that uses a set of plastic "leaves" to funnel air in various directions, the team has developed water generators that appear to create pure drinking water out of nothing."The target is to extract water from the air with minimum energy," founder and co-CEO Arye Kohavi tells Business Insider. "We think our solution can solve the problem on the level of countries. It's an immediate solution - governments don't need to spend decades to make a big project."Water-Gen is one of seven Israeli companies presenting technological innovations at the United Nations General Assembly this week.The company currently makes three sizes of water generating machines, each of which must be plugged into a power source. At 80 degrees and 60% humidity, the biggest can yield about 825 gallons per day, but Kohavi says the technology is easily scalable. The company's medium sized unit produces 118 gallons per day under the same conditions, and the smallest - which is intended for use in a home or office - produces just under 4 gallons per day.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Water-Gen</div></div></div>Water-Gen estimates that at current energy prices, the water generated will cost less than ten cents a gallon.The Water-Gen team is looking to bring the technology to two types of places: areas that don't have drinkable tap water, and locations that are warm and humid."If it's hotter or more humid, the system produces more than average, and if it's colder and dryer it produces less," Kohavi explains, adding that as long as temperatures are high enough, there is enough water in the air for the machines to work regardless of humidity levels.Luckily, those two sets of conditions often overlap. "Places that do not have drinking water in pipes are usually hot and humid - Latin America, Southeast Asia, Africa - so those two rules are almost equal," Kohavi saysWater-Gen is currently doing field tests of its products in cities like Mumbai, Shanghai and Mexico City, as well as more rural locations. The company's products are expected to be commercially available by the end of next year.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Water-Gen</div></div></div>Maxim Nasik, the chairman of Water-Gen, says that because climate change and the growing world population are making the issue of accessible drinking water increasingly important, the company hopes to bring its technology directly to governments. Implementing it on a large scale would be cheaper and faster, he says, adding that the company is already in discussion with several governments.That kind of negotiation is not new for Water-Gen - the company started in Israel by creating military equipment to help get water to soldiers on the front lines. It has since sold that technology to several other armies, including those in the US, UK and France, as well as undisclosed Arab countries.In addition to the water generation machines, the company also makes a water purifier that can be powered via batteries or solar panels, and is capable of filtering out everything from water-born parasites like Giardia to poison like cyanide, though it can't desalinize salt water."Water from air is for places that you don't have any water to filter," Kohavi says.A few years ago, Water-Gen decided to turn its attention to civilian applications of its technology. The smallest water-from-air machines were a product of that, as was dehumidifying technology that's now used in clothing dryers sold by Siemens and Beko.But Nasik says those commercial applications are not the company's main focus. "We think it's possible to bring drinking water to all countries. Humidifiers, army solutions, etcetera are a secondary issues," Nasik says. "What's important for us is to bring water to the people. The searches were done basis two cases registered against a Pune-based <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=private+group">private group</a> which allegedly collected money from people illegally. The searches were done at 58 locations including Pune, Nasik, Aurgangabad and Solapur. 
 
The official and residential premises of the firm's promoters were also searched.
