The company has received an order for disallowance of <keyword id="19980589" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="input-tax-credit" source="keywords">input tax credit</keyword> for FY 2019-20 from the Office of the <keyword id="20263022" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gst-officer" source="keywords">GST Officer</keyword>, <keyword id="22830157" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Government-of-NCT-of-Delhi" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Government of NCT of Delhi" meta.hostid="83" meta.entityid="Government of NCT of Delhi">Government of NCT of Delhi</keyword>, the two-wheeler major said in a <keyword id="19954258" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="regulatory-filing" source="keywords">regulatory filing</keyword>. The company said the tax demand is for Rs 9,38,66,513, interest Rs 7,32,15,880 and penalty Rs 93,86,651 as per the notice. Based on the company's assessment, the tax demand is not maintainable in law, it added. The input tax credit disallowed by the office of the GST Officer, New Delhi, was rightfully claimed by the company as per the provisions of the GST law but disallowed on account of the supplier's non-compliance, which is not attributable to the company, <keyword id="7029" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hero" source="Orion">Hero</keyword> MotoCorp said. Accordingly, the company shall take appropriate steps, including filing an appeal, it added. There is no material impact on financials, operations or other activities of the company, Hero MotoCorp said.

New Delhi, The corporate affairs ministry is probing various Chinese companies, especially those with links to loan apps, for alleged violations and some of the investigations are at an advanced stage, according to a senior official. In recent times, Indian authorities have been cracking down on entities that are operating loan apps illegally and the ministry has also been acting against companies and related individuals for hiding beneficial ownership. The senior official told PTI that enquiries by the ministry are going on against various Chinese companies, especially those linked to loan apps, and some of the enquiries are at an advanced stage. The ministry, which is implementing the companies law, is mainly looking at whether frauds have been committed at these companies and some of the cases are being probed by the <keyword id="20001098" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="serious-fraud-investigation-office" source="keywords">Serious Fraud Investigation Office</keyword> (SFIO), the official said. Further, the official said that the ministry receives complaints from the <keyword id="19899810" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india" source="keywords">Reserve Bank of India</keyword> (<keyword id="19899808" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rbi" source="keywords">RBI</keyword>) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), among other entities, following which enquiries are initiated against the companies concerned. While it is difficult sometimes to track the funding sources for some companies, the official said efforts are made to ascertain the beneficial ownership. In January, the Registrar of Companies (RoC), <keyword id="20064135" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nct" source="keywords">NCT</keyword> (National Capital Territory) of Delhi, and Haryana slapped penalties totalling more than Rs 21 lakh on an Indian company and its related individuals as well as entities. The move was part of cracking the whip for hiding the beneficial ownership links to a Chinese group. On February 6, the finance ministry informed <keyword id="19895397" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="parliament" source="keywords">Parliament</keyword> that Google has suspended or removed more than 2,200 fraudulent loan apps from its Play Store between September 2022 and August 2023. The government is constantly engaged with the RBI and other regulators and stakeholders concerned to control fraudulent loan apps. RBI has issued regulatory guidelines on digital lending, which aim at firming up the regulatory framework for digital lending while enhancing customer protection and making the digital lending ecosystem safe and sound.

A bench of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices P S Narasimha and J B Pardiwala rejected the <keyword id="19925995" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-government" source="keywords">Delhi government</keyword>'s plea challenging the LG's power to nominate 10 aldermen in the <keyword id="19907640" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Municipal-Corporation-of-Delhi" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Municipal Corporation of Delhi" meta.hostid="345" meta.entityid="Municipal Corporation of Delhi">Municipal Corporation of Delhi</keyword> without the aid and advice of the council of ministers. The apex court pronounced its verdict on the Delhi government's plea after reserving it for nearly 15 months. In its ruling impacting the fraught relationship between the LG's office and the AAP-led Delhi government, the bench said the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act as amended in 1993 "expressly enables the LG to nominate persons having special knowledge to the corporation". It said the power expressed by the statute in the name of the LG, also seen in the context of other provisions, demonstrates the statutory scheme in which the powers and duties are distributed among authorities under the Act. "The context in which the power is located confirms that the LG is intended to act as per the mandate of the statute and not guided by the aid and advice of the council of ministers. The power to be exercised is the statutory duty of the LG and not the executive power of the state. This is how we analysed the constitutional provisions," Justice Narasimha said while pronouncing the verdict on behalf of the bench. The bench said the statutory power under provision 3(3)(b)(1) which deals with nomination of persons having special knowledge was vested with the LG for the first time by the 1993 amendment of the DMC Act of 1957. The bench said the DMC Act as amended in 1993 recognises five authorities exercising the state's power and duties under the Act -- these are the Central government, the government of NCT, administrator, corporation and the commissioner. It said the amendment Act of 1993 carries out several amendments to the original DMC Act of 1957 by which the power, duties were allocated to the authorities depending on the function they perform under the law. The bench said by way of the amendment the power of nomination of aldermen was given to LG under the provision just like the power of nomination of MLAs was given to the speaker of the House. On May 17 last year, the top court had said that giving the LG the power to nominate aldermen to the MCD will mean he can destabilise an elected civic body. The MCD has 250 elected and 10 nominated members. In December 2022, the Aam Aadmi Party defeated the <keyword id="19894848" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="BJP" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="BJP" meta.hostid="345" meta.entityid="BJP">BJP</keyword> in the civic elections, winning 134 wards and ending the saffron party's 15-year run at the helm of the MCD. The BJP won 104 seats and the Congress finished a distant third with nine. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for the Delhi government, had contended during the hearing that no separate powers have been accorded to the state government to nominate people to the MCD. For the past 30 years, the practice of the LG nominating aldermen on the aid and advice of the city government has been followed, he said. Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Jain, appearing for the LG's office, submitted that just because a practice has been followed for 30 years does not mean it is correct. The top court had observed that giving the LG the power to nominate aldermen will effectively mean that he can destabilise a democratically elected MCD because these aldermen get appointed to the standing committees and have voting power. Earlier, the top court had questioned the "source of power" of the LG under the Constitution and the law to nominate aldermen to the MCD without the aid and advice of the elected government. On May 12 last year, the top court observed that LG has to act on the "aid and advice" of the council of ministers of the Delhi government in nominating 10 aldermen to the MCD.

New <keyword id="19900881" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi" source="keywords">Delhi</keyword>, The Delhi government on Tuesday issued fresh guidelines for handling end-of-life vehicles in public places, stipulating a penalty of Rs 10,000 for four-wheelers and Rs 5,000 for two-wheelers to be imposed on owners of impounded vehicles before being released. According to the guidelines, continuous enforcement drives should be conducted to phase out such vehicles from public places in the national capital and daily reports sent to the environment department for onward submission to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). The government has classified the release procedure of impounded vehicles under two categories -- those who wish to shift their vehicle out of Delhi-NCR and those who wish to park the vehicle in private spaces which are not shared parking places. "On plying and parking of ELVs in public place in NCT of Delhi, once impounded for the first time it can be released on the basis of submission of an undertaking that vehicle will not be plied or parked in any public place within the territory of Delhi and will be removed from the city...," the guidelines read "In case of 4-wheeler, a penalty of Rs 10,000 along with towing charge and parking fee as notified in <keyword id="20667071" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-maintenance-and-management-of-parking-places-rules" source="keywords">Delhi Maintenance and Management of Parking Places Rules</keyword>, 2019, shall be charged before releasing of such ELVs. In case of 2-wheeler, a penalty of Rs 5,000 along with towing charge and parking fee as notified in Parking Rules 2019 shall be charged...," it said. According to the guidelines, any end-of-life vehicle impounded for the second time and transport vehicles running on diesel fuel and aged more than 10 years old cannot be released. The application for the release of a vehicle along with necessary documents should be submitted within three weeks of impounding of the vehicle and an online platform will be developed for this purpose, it said. According to the guidelines, impounded vehicles will be scrapped in case of three scenarios -- non-submission of application for release within three weeks of impounding of the vehicle, rejection of application submitted for release and impounding of the same vehicle for the second time. All scrap value shall be paid through digital mode only to the bank account in the name of the vehicle owner within 15 days of the vehicle being accepted by the <keyword id="20663769" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="registered-vehicles-scrapping-facility" source="keywords">Registered Vehicles Scrapping Facility</keyword>, it added. Delhi govt issues guidelines for handling end-of-life vehicles in public places

The Bharatiya Janata party was leading with seven out of seven seats in Delhi. Axis My India Exit Poll predictions forecast that <keyword id="6356115" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="AAP">AAP</keyword> might not score any seat in the capital of India where the party has fielded its candidates from all the 7 constituencies. Even in 2014 elections, the AAP could not secure a single seat in Delhi as the election proved a clean sweep for the BJP from the capital giving it all the 7 seats. In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the AAP contested 432 seats out of 543. The party secured 4 seats among all of them. In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, AAP contested all 13 seats in Punjab. The key candidates for Arvind Kejriwals’ party from Punjab who repeated the elections after having fought in 2014 elections are Peter Masi Chira from Gurdaspur, kuldeep singh dhaliwal from Amritsar, Jora singh from Jalandhar, Dr. Ravjot Singh from Hoshiarpur, bhagwat mann from Sngrur, and Baljinder singh Chonda from Fatehgarh Sahib. From Delhi constituencies, AAP fielded the following candidates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections who are now eagerly waiting to know their results. The AAP candidate for New Delhi is Brijesh Goyal, for East Delhi seat Atishi, for the West Delhi seat Balbir Singh Jakhar, for the South Delhi constituency Raghav Chadha, for the Northwest Delhi seat Guggan Singh, for Northeast Delhi Dilip Pandey, and for Chandni Chowk Pankaj Gupta. AAP fielded its candidates from all the constituencies in Haryana for the Lok Sabha 2019 elections. The party also contested from three seats each in Bihar and UP. In Delhi Lok Sabha elections 2019, there was a triangular contest between Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP, BJP and the Congress Party. The predictions say BJP might secure 6 or 7 seats from Delhi leaving the Congress with 1 seat and AAP with no seats. The AAP is expected to get a 17% vote share in the capital of India in 2019 general elections when the results are announced.

Aam Aadmi Party yet to win seats in indicative leads

As per an order from the <keyword id="6355014" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Delhi-High-Court">Delhi High Court</keyword>, <keyword id="6354720" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ola">Ola</keyword>, <keyword id="1042120" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Uber">Uber</keyword> and the radio taxis' association will be giving out details of the cabs that are intended to be phased out by March 31 because of an order from as per the Supreme Court's order. 
 
Justice J R Midha has issued the direction to ANI Technologies Ltd, the company behind Ola cars, Association of Radio Taxis and Uber. This has been done because the Delhi government needs the details of cabs that are to be phased out, so that proper action can be taken after the deadline. 
 
The court has given these companies time till April 10 so that the details can be submitted along with an affidavit in a sealed cover. 
 
The details are required by the transport department so that action can be taken against companies not complying with court orders.

Submit all details about phased out cabs: Delhi High Court directs Ola, Uber and radio taxis

<keyword id="6357103" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-traffic-police">Delhi Traffic Police</keyword> has issued a fresh notification superseding all previous orders regarding declarations of speed limits on the roads of NCT of <keyword id="66" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi">Delhi</keyword>. The order shall be published for the information of the general public in the official gazette and by affixing a copy on the notice boards of the office of all District Deputy Commissioner of Police and all Police Stations in Delhi/New Delhi, the notification read. The concerned civic road maintaining agencies shall erect the corresponding informatory sign boards indicating the speed limits at all prominent locations on the road/road stretches in their areas of jurisdiction for guidance and convenience of the road user/general public. This order has come into force with immediate effect from June 8. Unregulated plying of motor vehicles on a high speed on the roads of NCT of Delhi is endangering the life of motorists as well as other road users/commuters and it is necessary to regulate the speed of motor vehicles on the roads of NCT of Delhi for safety of motorists as well as other road users. The notification has been issued by Satyawan Gautam, Deputy Commissioner of Police/Traffic (Modernization), Delhi in exercise of the powers, conferred u/s 28(1) (b) of Delhi Police Act, 1978 read with Rule 9 (1) of the Delhi Control of Vehicular and Other Traffic on Roads and Streets Regulations, 1980 which revises the maximum speed limit (where road condition permits) for various type of motor vehicles on Delhi roads. For cars, jeeps, taxis, cabs, the maximum speed limit is revised to 70 km per hour on NH-48 (Earlier NH-8) from Parade Road/Gurgaon Road Crossing to Delhi Gurgaon Border, DND Flyover - Mayur Vihar Link Road and NH-44 (Earlier NH-1) from <keyword id="2802822" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Singhu-Border">Singhu Border</keyword> to Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Noida Toll Road (The straight stretch from Delhi side upto Toll Gates and from the Toll Gate upto the points where curves lasts), Saleemgarh Bypass Road (Ring Road Bypass). Similarly, it was also revised on NH-9 (Earlier NH-24) from Millennium Park to Gazipur Border, NH-9 (Earlier NH-10) from Ghevra Xing to Tikri Border, Northern Access Road from Red Light NSG to T-Point of Northern Access &amp; Central Spine, Central Spine Road from Mahipalpur Chowk to Terminal III, IGI Airport. A maximum speed for cars of 50 kmph on NH-44 (Earlier NH-1) from Mukarba Chowk to Azadpur Chowk, Ring Road from Azadpur to Chandgi Ram Akhara via Model Town, Kingsway Camp, Mall Road, NH-9 (Earlier NH-10) from Punjabi Bagh to Ghevra Xing, All arterial roads in areas between Ring Road and Outer Ring Road, beyond Outer Ring Road, inside Ring Road and entire Trans Yamuna area (except roads which are specifically mentioned in the table). Any constituency that’s not going to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is being credited to Congress. Since 1998, the political party that won the general election in Delhi has gone on to form the government. Bringing contestants like the former Bhojpuri actor, Manoj Tiwari, in North East Delhi, singer, Hans Raj Hans, in North West Delhi and former cricketer, Gautam Gambhir in East Delhi may have worked in the BJP’s favour with different exit polls predicting that the national party is set to take home at least five seats from Delhi. BJP relied on star power during the polls, Congress stuck to legacy politics and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s platform was based on their municipal successes. During the 2014 election, BJP’s victory was unanimous with the political party winning over all seven seats. Now, the party is taking the exit polls an indication of their majority, has already planning for the Delhi’s assembly elections scheduled to take place in 2020 with reports of Tiwari taking meeting with official from municipal boards in the city. Before the polls, traders in the city already opined that while AAP was good for the city, they would still like to see a national party in power to represent the Delhi’s interests in Parliament. Past electoral experiences show that the city’s voting pattern differs greatly when it comes to the national elections versus state elections.
