Chakraborty arrived at the ground at around 12 noon and was welcomed by the BJP's National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargi and other state leaders. Sources said while coming to the rally, Chakraborty's car was stopped midway near Bowbazar as BJP supporters spotted the superstar sitting in his white SUV. Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty joins BJP rally in Kolkata

Actor Mithun Chakraborty one of BJP's 'star campaigners' in Bengal assembly elections

The stage is set for the second phase of assembly poll in <keyword id="6357783" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="West-bengal">West Bengal</keyword> on Thursday when more than 75 lakh voters will decide the fate of 191 candidates in 30 seats as eyes are set on the high profile Nandigram constituency where Chief Minister <keyword id="43868" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mamata-Banerjee">Mamata Banerjee</keyword> is pitted against her protag turned adversary Suvendu Adhikari. All 10,620 booths where polling will be held this phase have been declared as sensitive by the <keyword id="40807" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Election-Commission">Election Commission</keyword>, which has deployed around 651 companies of central forces to provide security, officials said. Besides, the state police will also be deployed at strategic locations during the polling which will begin at 7 am, they said. A total 199 companies of Central Armed Police Force will be deployed in Purba Medinipur, 210 companies in Paschim Medinipur, 170 in South 24 Parganas and 72 in Bankura, the sources said. TMC and BJP are contesting in all the 30 seats, while CPI(M) is in the fray in 15 and its alliance partners of Sanjukta Morcha the Congress and ISF are competing in 13 and two seats respectively. Polling will take place amid strict COVID-19 guidelines in nine seats of Paschim Medinipur, eight in Bankura, four seats in South 24 Parganas and nine in Purba Medinipur - the home ground of TMC turncoat and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. Nandigram falls in Purba Medinipur district. The agrarian constituency which shook the foundations of the mighty Left regime over the anti-land acquisition movement in 2007, has now turned into a battleground of titans with Banerjee suddenly deciding to switch from her Bhowanipur seat to the constituency held by Adhikari, her former lieutenant who has switched loyalty to the BJP. For Adhikari it is a battle for political survival as a defeat would be a devastating blow and might also put a question mark on his political graph in his new party the BJP. Similarly, a victory would not only establish him as one of the tallest leaders in Bengal but would also push him few miles ahead of others in the Chief Ministerial race in case the BJP is voted to power. For Banerjee, who is running for the third successive term as chief minister, a victory is a must to lead the government and keep together her party, which is faced with exodus. For the Congress-Left-ISF alliance candidate Minakshi Mukherjee of CPI-M, the challenge is to regain her party's lost ground. The political equation in the state had changed in 2019 when BJP made massive inroads in the tribal-dominated Janga Mahal region and Medinipur belt by sweeping all the five Lok Sabha seats. The TMC, however, has been able to maintain its dominance in South 24 Parganas district, where there is sizeable minority population. A prominent seat going to the poll in the second phase is Sabang, where TMC has fielded its Rajya Sabha MP Manas Bhunia. He is up against TMC turncoat and BJP leader Amulya Maity. Bhunia, a former state Congress president, had held the seat from 1982 to 016 as Congress nominee before switching over to the TMC in September 2016. He was 95.Basantakumar Chakraborty was battling age-related health issues and breathed his last on Tuesday evening, according to Mithun Chakraborty's younger son, Namashi Chakraborty."Yes, my grandfather passed away last evening due to kidney failure," Namashi Chakraborty told .Namashi Chakraborty said his actor-father is stuck in Bengaluru due to the coronavirus-led nationwide lockdown.Mithun Chakraborty is trying to come to Mumbai for the last rites, his son added.Bengali actor Rituparna Sengupta took to Twitter to offer condolences to the actor and his family."My deep condolences on the sudden demise of your father, Mithun Da. Mithun Chakraborty's father dies, actor stranded in Bengaluru amid lockdown

<ul><li><keyword id="379877" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sonal-Dabral">Sonal Dabral</keyword> has been an integral part of Indian advertising and is credited with creating some pathbreaking campaigns through his career.</li><li>Dabral who was part of a recent panel discussion at Business Insider's Global Trends Festival 2020 took us back in time and told us the story of how the famous 'Humko Binnies Mangta' jingle and campaign was created.</li></ul>Sonal Dabral wears many hats. He’s a creative genius, a TV host, a film director, an actor, a scriptwriter and even a playwright. But he is also a music lover, a passion that came handy pretty often during his illustrious advertising career. Recently on a panel discussion on ‘How music has become the real social connector in today’s digital world’ for Business Insider’s Global Trends Festival, Dabral shared an anecdote about a very catchy campaign he had created in the late 80’s. Dabral grew up in a big family where there was a lot of musical influence and this love for music helped him crack a creative pitch back in the day when he was just finding his place in the ad world. The brand he was working on was <keyword id="10139970" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Binnies-Chips">Binnies Chips</keyword> and the task at hand was to help it reach out to teenagers. This was in the later 80’s, when most of the advertising was still being done in English. So when Binnies Chips called for a pitch, Dabral, who then was a part of Mudra, set to work with the rest of the team. They created a campaign that they thought was cool and energetic. The tagline read, ‘Looking for fun? Binnies’ the one!’ Taking us back in time, Dabral said, “The campaign looked good but was a bit stereotypical. There were teens with guitars and of course packets of chips.” However, it was an important multi-agency pitch, and <keyword id="871717" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mudra-Delhi">Mudra Delhi</keyword> which back then was a small office, wanted to desperately win the pitch. “We had to be absolutely sure of the work,” said Dabral. And the easiest way to do that was to test the campaign on the audience they were trying to target. The Mudra team called a group of teenagers to a house in Lajpat Nagar in New Delhi, the idea was to gauge their reactions. Most of the kids invited said they liked the line. However, in that group, there was a young child who had come there with his elder brother. “This kid was barely 6 or 7 years old but he had an attitude. I asked him if he liked the work and he said he did. Then I asked him if his brother bought chips for him. To that he answered with a lot of swag that he goes to the shop himself, points to whatever he wants and says, ‘I want that.’ And he said all of this in a mix of Hindi and Punjabi and I was loving his attitude,” shared Dabral. And it was then that inspiration struck him. “We were saying things like looking for fun, Binnies the one, but here was a kid with real energy and attitude. He knew exactly what he was looking for and he would demand that from the shopkeeper. That’s when the idea for ‘Humko Binnies Mangta’ struck me. And the moment I thought of these lines, it felt disruptive and fresh,” said Dabral with a laugh. Most of the advertising back then used to be primarily western in look and feel. And even if Hindi was used, it was hardly ever colloquial. It was usually translated from the original English idea by translators. This was the time when a song from the movie Jeete Hain Shaan Se featuring actors <keyword id="14672" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mithun-Chakraborty">Mithun Chakraborty</keyword> and Mandakini called <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkU67ylZvW0" data-type="tilCustomLink">Julie Julie</a> had become immensely popular. “The lyrics of the song went, <keyword id="1353389" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Julie-Julie">Julie Julie</keyword>, Johnny ka dil tujhpe aaya Julie. A colleague used to keep humming that song. So once I had the line Humko Binnies Mangta, I wrote the lyrics, ‘Binnies Binnies, naya naya ye chips Binnies. Iski hai har baat nayi, yehi toh meri jaan hai jaan hai jaan hai… Humko Binnies mangta’. And the song was ready. I remember we recorded a scratch and cut a film with footage from the movie ‘Grease’ with <keyword id="38952" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="John-Travolta">John Travolta</keyword> dancing to ‘Humko Binnies Mangta’ for the pitch.” Dabral was also the art director on the campaign so he decided that the best way to do the print and the billboards would be to add a bit of that young boy’s attitude to it and to make it big and bold. “I hand crafted the typography as I didn’t find any typeface that would do justice to the bold attitude. So the billboards and out-of-home material had a big bold ‘Humko Binnies Mangta’ emblazoned against a red background and a big pack just below it. No body copy. Nothing else to describe the idea,” he shared. “The idea was, if we could have a line with so much attitude, it would do its job,” he added. At the pitch, the team presented both the ideas including the two scratch edits. “We won the pitch due to the sheer cut-through quality of ‘Humko Binnies Mangta’," added he. The client loved the idea but was a little unsure owing to the fact that the lyrics were in a very conversation street-style Hinglish, something that had never been done before. The team however heard that the client had done a quick test of the two campaigns with his children and their friends, and all of them had loved it. The campaign when released became an instant hit. On the day of the launch, there were full page ads all with one single line ‘Humko Binnies Mangta’ and a pack below it. There was a promo that was run on the day of the launch. Free Binnies hampers were given off to the first 100 callers who called in and said ‘Humko Binnies Mangta’. “Though it was meant for only 100 callers, the phones didn’t stop ringing till late in the night,” reminisced Dabral. On analyzing why the campaign performed as well as it did, Dabral said he realized while it was the disruptive nature and the freshness of the campaign line and the focused and targeted advertising, it was also the fact that they wrote the catchy lyrics to a massively popular tune that made it very hummable and was able to connect with a wide set of audience. “It also shows what the right music and words can do to your content. Even today when you hear those lines, you can visualize the ad with those dancing kids saying Humko Binnies Mangta,” added Dabral with a laugh

As per a source, Akshay is expected to start shooting for the fifth installement from January 15, 2024 in London. Starring <keyword id="2823" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar" source="Orion">Akshay Kumar</keyword> and Riteish Deshmukh along with other actors, the film is all set to be released during Diwali in 2024. In June this year, Akshay announced the fifth instalment of his hit comedy franchise 'Housefull'. Taking to Instagram, Akshay shared a poster of '<keyword id="8370870" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Housefull-5" source="Orion">Housefull 5</keyword>' captioning it, "Get ready for FIVE times the madness!. Bringing to y'all #SajidNadiadwala's #Housefull5 Directed by @tarun_mansukhani. See you in cinemas on Diwali 2024!" 'Housefull 5' marks the first-ever franchise film in Indian Cinema to have five installments.The first part of 'Housefull' was released in the year 2010 and starred Akshay, Riteish, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Boman Irani. The film was declared a hit, followed by another hit sequel 'Housefull 2' which was released in the 2012 and included a stellar cast of Akshay, Ritiesh, John Abraham, Shreyas Talpade, Jacqueline Fernandez, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty and Asin. Both parts were helmed by director Sajid Khan. Sajid was replaced in the third instalment of the film by director duo Sajid Samji and Farhad Samji. The film was released in 2016. Director Farhad Samji helmed the fourth part of the franchise which was a reincarnation comedy film. The fifth part will be helmed by Tarun Mansukhani. Sajid Nadiadwala is producing it. (ANI)

Several videos went viral on TikTok and other social media platforms in which Chinese facing the lockdowns are seen using Bappi Da's track to express their anger and frustration over the country's stringent zero-COVID policy. Composed by Lahiri and sung by <keyword id="37723" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="parvati-khan" source="Orion">Parvati Khan</keyword>, the hit song in China is recreated in Mandarin "Jie mi, jie mi", which translates into "Give me rice, give me rice". People in videos are seen showing empty vessels to indicate how they are deprived of essential food items during the lockdowns. It can be interpreted as a plea from the people to the government to lift its harsh restrictions. Last month the country's ruling Communist Party and its leader Xi Jinping signalled that there would be no easing up of the zero-Covid policy, calling it a "people's war to stop the spread of the virus". Across the country, around 200 lockdowns have been implemented in recent days - the majority of this affecting communities that have been marked as high or medium risk. Residents in different areas are subject to different rules, depending on whether they are in a low, medium or high-risk zone. Recently, droves of migrant workers attempted to flee the lockdown situation and return to their hometowns. Visuals shared online indicate that workers at Apple's largest assembly site in Zhengzhou broke out of the facilities to escape the 'zero-COVID' lockdown. But the one 90s icon that needs no formal introduction is Anil – ‘My Name Is Lakhan’ – Kapoor. From serenading Madhuri Dixit in the iconic Dhak Dhak song in Beta in 1992, Kapoor’s joie de vivre makes him the rightful successor of the evergreen Jitendra, who was not only nicknamed the Jumping Jack after his high-octane energy but also endorsed vitality pills called 30 Plus for decades. Kapoor’s performance in the Night Manager as the all powerful arms dealer Shelly Rungta is about perfect paradoxes – in one instant he charms birds or should we say birdies and in the next instant effortlessly kills with his bare hands (and a little help of a writing instrument) and yet there isn’t a spot of blood on his bespoke cream suit. He pulls off the over the top scenes with the same conviction as he played the role of an autistic man in Eeshwar. When it comes to dialogue delivery and style, there is none that even comes close to <keyword id="6354700" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="anil-kapoor" source="Orion">Anil Kapoor</keyword>. A paisa vasool moment in the mini series is when AK, in his laconic drawl, advises Aditya Roy Kapur, who essays the role of a soldier/hotel manager turned reluctant spy, to never know the real man behind the expensive suit. Remakes are generally tough acts to follow, especially if the original’s cast toplines Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, Hugh Laurie, Elizabeth Debicki and is directed by Oscar winner Susanne Bier. Attempting remakes of popular shows or movies is not for the faint hearted, look no further than last year’s epic disaster Lal Singh Chaddha – a remake of the iconic Tom Hanks-starrer Forrest Gump. But Anil Kapoor has managed to duck this trend not once but twice. Kapoor was a part of another global series called 24 and played the lead character in its Hindi avatar too. Both mini series have enthralled audiences primarily because of the 66-year old actor, who still looks convincing as an eight-year old child’s father. Kapoor eases in viewers with his easygoing charm in the first part of the series, where he is mostly seen enjoying the high life with his arm candy Kaveri (Sobhita Dhulipala) in his yacht, private jets and mansions. He is the classic modern-day archetype of Ravan, who also lives in Lanka. As the father of Rhea and Sonam Kapoor, much loved fashion icons, Anil Kapoor does not disappoint. In fact, he has his fashion chops in place alright with his bespoke suits and carefully crushed linen shirts. But there’s more to the concluding part of the mini series than Anil Kapoor’s sartorial style. Kapoor completely dominates the second part of the Hindi remake of the Night Manager with his menacing presence. Kapoor dominates not just the screen. There’s something particularly appealing about the bad boys of spy thrillers, but he upstages Aditya Roy Kapur, who is the undercover agent Shaan Sengupta inside Shelly Rungta’s Golden Lanka. Kapur is the good guy who pretends to go rogue as he works with RAW agent Tillotama Shome to uncover Shelly’s unholy arms business that spreads from West Asia through Myanmar and Bangladesh. The second part of the series circles back to Dhaka, where it all began with the death of Safina, a minor girl trapped in a marriage with an underworld don. The storytelling of the Hindi Night Manager is by and large straight out of the playbook of any spy thriller, barring some underwhelming performances. The tomfoolery by the two RAW agents are cringe-worthy and not binge worthy. The lean and mean avatar of Aditya Roy Kapur is welcome after his movie Gumraah. ARK fails to charm or impress with his revenge but Kapoor does both in equal measure as the villain. Give us bad boys any day.
