Amid the severe pollution gripping the national capital, <keyword id="19948557" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-metro" source="keywords">Delhi Metro</keyword> recorded its highest-ever daily ridership on November 18, with a staggering 78.67 lakh passenger journeys, according to official data. This figure exceeded the previous high of 77.49 lakh passengers on August 20 of this year, the data said. On November 18, the Yellow Line, which connects Millennium City Centre in Gurugram to Samaypur Badli in Delhi, saw the highest passenger traffic, with a record 20.99 lakh commuters. The Blue Line followed closely with 20.80 lakh passengers, while the Red Line recorded 8.56 lakh commuters, 8.15 lakh in Pink Line and 7.93 lakh in Violet Line. The Magenta Line saw 6.19 lakh passengers, followed by the Green Line with 4.12 lakh commuters, 81,985 in Airport Line, 57,701 in Rapid Metro, and 50,128, in the Grey Line, as per the data. Thick grey haze continued to choke Delhi for the third consecutive day on Tuesday, with pollution levels remaining alarmingly high at 488 in the 'severe plus' category. To encourage more people to use the metro in this scenario, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is running 60 extra trips on weekdays, offering more capacity than usual, an official statement said. The DMRC has recorded its 25 highest passenger journeys since August this year, the statement added. It emphasised that the more people opt for the metro over private vehicles, the greater the reduction in vehicular emissions, which will help improve the air quality of the city and its surrounding areas. In addition, the DMRC has introduced several measures to make travel more convenient for passengers, the statement read. These include the ability to book single or multiple journey tickets through various digital platforms, allowing passengers to plan their journeys anytime and anywhere without the need to stand in queues at the station. Furthermore, partnerships with organisations such as IRCTC, NCRTC, ITPO, and others have made it easier for people to not only travel by metro but also access interconnected travel options, along with various offers and events, all with seamless ease, the statement said. As it's a sprawling metropolis, visitors and locals alike primarily rely on cars to get around. Uber, Lyft, and Waymo are plentiful, which, in my experience, makes calling rideshare a cinch. This can obviously add up, though, if you're relying on it consistently to get from one part of town to another. For example, a trip from Tempe to North Scottsdale can cost between $40 and $50 on Lyft, as of publishing.Public transit Another option for getting around town is our public transit, which includes a network of bus stops and the <a href="https://www.valleymetro.org/maps-schedules/rail" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Valley Metro Rail</a>, a limited light rail that runs from West Mesa to North Phoenix along a single line.I personally rely on my car to get around almost everywhere, but for some locals the Rail is convenient for getting around short distances in a single direction. Nearly 41 per cent of respondents ranked the cost of transport as being the most important factor when it comes to transportation. Mobility-as-a-service to generate fuel cost savings of $10.8 bn by 2027 says report

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has decided that the 125,000 people who use the train daily to get to and from New York City deserve to save some money on future tickets, though it has not released specific amounts.
For Mail&amp;Ride customers (who sign up to have a fresh monthly ticket mailed to them every month), the credit will automatically be applied to their December ticket.
Everyone else - including those who buy tickets online - will have to go to a ticket window in person to get the credit.

Monthly customers who hold both a September and October ticket are urged to apply for this credit for both tickets at the same time. Therefore, for customer convenience, Metro-North will honor New Haven Line November monthly tickets for travel beginning October 20.
Customers holding a monthly ticket with a MetroCard, may wish to submit their credit request at a later time if there is still value on the MetroCard. Metro-North ticket windows cannot transfer MetroCard value. The MetroCard value can only be transferred to another card at subway station booths.
Mail&amp;Ride customers will have this credit automatically applied to their December ticket. WebTicket customers should visit a ticket window in order to receive this credit.
Any customer with a monthly or weekly ticket for transportation during this period must surrender their ticket in order to receive this credit.
Customers can apply for this credit until March 31, 2014.
There will be no processing fee charged for these credit transactions.
Metro-North will open more ticket windows with extended hours at select outlying New Haven Line stations and in Grand Central Terminal.  
Credit Processing for Weekly Tickets Begins October 9

<ul class="summary-list"><li><keyword id="11069862" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="avelo-airlines">Avelo Airlines</keyword> is coming to the East Coast with a new base in <keyword id="202270" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="New-Haven">New Haven</keyword>, Connecticut. </li><li>Routes have not yet been announced but it's likely Avelo will offer flights across the East Coast and Southeast. </li><li>Avelo is spending $1.2 million as part of a larger $100 million investment to modernize the airport. </li></ul>New Haven, Connecticut, will soon have more going for it than just Yale University and pizza.Avelo Airlines is choosing the Elm City as its East Coast base with flights from Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport scheduled to start later this year. "Tweed New Haven has enormous potential, and our first East Coast base is great <keyword id="6355005" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="news">news</keyword> for Avelo, New Haven, East Haven and other local communities," Andrew Levy, Avelo's chief executive officer, said in a statement. New Haven is sandwiched between Hartford, Connecticut, and New York City, the two closest cities with service from ultra-low-cost carriers. While travelers living anywhere between those two cities were formerly forced to choose, Avelo is giving a third option that will be more convenient to many. Convenience is key for Avelo, which <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/flying-america-newest-avelo-airlines-burbank-low-cost-review-photos-2021-4">launched its first flights in April from Hollywood Burbank Airport in California</a> as an alternative to the busier Los Angeles International Airport. Smaller airports boast greater ease of access for travelers and lower operating costs for the airline. "<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/avelo-airlines-low-cost-los-angeles-burbank-flights-ceo-interview-2021-4">Avelo's purpose is to inspire travel and today</a> we begin that process of making it easy, and convenient, and affordable with everyday low fares, for customers to be able to choose us," Levy said when launching the airline's first flight from Burbank to Santa Rosa, California. "It is critically important for us to work with partners who share our ideals to maintain the convenience that people love about Tweed New Haven, while respecting the existing character of the local cities and their communities that we serve," Sean Scanlon, executive director of Tweed New Haven Airport Authority, said in a statement. Manhattan is also 80 miles away and Avelo's low fares could attract New Yorkers for which the drive is under two hours, and train service is offered on Amtrak and the Metro-North Railroad. Travelers from Boston and Eastern Massachusetts may also be inclined to make the journey to New Haven, if the price and flights are right. Avelo's entrance is a shot in the arm for New Haven's airport, which only sees scheduled service from American Airlines to Philadelphia on regional aircraft. Avelo estimates its presence will create 11,000 jobs in the region. Boeing 737-700 aircraft will be based in New Haven, the smaller variant of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft with which Avelo debuted operations in April, with <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/flying-america-newest-avelo-airlines-burbank-low-cost-review-photos-2021-4">Insider onboard the first flight</a>. On Monday, the tire company announced plans to debut a new shopping concept specifically geared at millennial women shopping for tires. The concept, called Roll, emphasizes online shopping and offers a wider range of tire purchasing and installation processes. "We think there's a need out there to have tires on your terms," Fred Thomas, vice president and general manager of Goodyear <keyword id="6354851" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="retail">Retail</keyword>, told Business Insider. According to a survey by the company, 79% of millennial female respondents said they would visit Roll the next time they purchased tires, 31% higher than the average response. "I don't think you're going to walk into the store and think this was created just for millennial females," Thomas said. However, young women are a demographic Goodyear is eager to attract to stores. According to Thomas, Goodyear stores currently tend to draw an older crowd that skews male. Roll, hopefully, could help fix that, with a convenience that Goodyear believes will appeal to "time-starved" millennial women.
