Subway co-founder Fred DeLuca has died

Global wealth tripled over the last two decades, with <keyword id="1334" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="china" source="Orion">China</keyword> leading the way and overtaking the <keyword id="6354458" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="us" source="Orion">US</keyword> for the top spot worldwide, Bloomberg reported. A report by McKinsey &amp; Co. that examines the national balance sheets of ten countries representing more than 60 per cent of the world's income. China accounted for almost one-third of gains in global net worth over the past two decades, the report said. "We are now wealthier than we have ever been," Jan Mischke, a partner at the McKinsey Global Institute in Zurich, said in an interview. Net worth worldwide rose to $514 trillion in 2020, from $156 trillion in 2000, according to the study. China accounted for almost one-third of the increase. Its wealth skyrocketed to $120 trillion from a mere $7 trillion in 2000, the year before it joined the World Trade Organization, speeding its economic ascent, the report said. The US, held back by more muted increases in property prices, saw its net worth more than double over the period, to $90 trillion. In both countries -- the world's biggest economies -- more than two-thirds of the wealth is held by the richest 10 per cent of households, and their share has been increasing, the report said. As computed by McKinsey, 68 per cent of global net worth is stored in real estate. The balance is held in such things as infrastructure, machinery and equipment and, to a much lesser extent, so-called intangibles like intellectual property and patents, it added. China overtakes US as the richest country in the world

Over 2 million customers bought 9 million items on the site, across the five-day sale. Myntra’s traffic went up by three times on its platform during the sale period. It also registered a whopping 7,100 orders per minute at its peak. “So far, we have acquired 4.8 lakh new customers and a significant portion of the sales came from tier 2 and 3 cities. With 12,500 kirana stores under the MENSA ((Myntra Extended Network Through Store Activation) network supporting last mile deliveries, we have been delivering over 6 lakh shipments per day,” said Amar Nagaram, head of Myntra Jabong. The company also said that members of its loyalty program – Myntra Insiders – contributed to about 42% of the overall sales. Interestingly, Myntra’s in-house brand Roadster sold 1.35 million products. In May 2019, Myntra also launched an offline store <a href="https://inc42.com/buzz/myntra-self-checkout-roadster-go-store-bengaluru/">Roadster Go </a>in Bengaluru, and plans to launch 100 such offline stores in the next two years. The grey market premium of Tarsons Products shares is <a href="https://www.livemint.com/market/ipo/tarsons-products-ipo-what-gmp-signals-on-second-day-of-subscription-11637035990127.html">reportedly</a> at ₹180. Tarsons Products — which is a labware supplier to the life sciences sector— has received bids for 3.88 crore equity shares versus the 1.08 crore shares that were up for sale. The retail portion has been oversubscribed by 4.74 times and the portion reserved for non-institutional investors has been subscribed 3.98 times. Qualified institutional buyers — which includes banks, mutual funds and others — have subscribed to the IPO 1.30 times. The issue has been subscribed by 3.6 times. Tarsons Products’ public issue will close today, November 17. Interest investors can place their bidding, within a range of ₹645-662 apiece. The lot size has been set at 22 shares,which means that the investors would have to spend at least ₹14,190 to subscribe to the shares. Tarsons Products is engaged in designing, developing, manufacturing and supplying a diverse range of quality labware products used in laboratories across research organisations, academic institutes, pharmaceutical firms, diagnostics companies and hospitals. It manufactures a range of quality labware products that helps advance scientific discovery and improve healthcare. The company intends to raise ₹1,023 crore through its public issue, which comprises ₹ 150 crore as fresh issue. The remaining ₹873 crore will be raised through offer for sale (OfS) and will go to the investors selling their shares in the IPO.  Myntra’s End of Reason Sale (EORS) started with a bang as it sold 1.77 lakh items, with over 2.2 lakh new customers signing up, in the first 10 minutes of the sale. The fashion platform is looking at acquiring 7 lakh new customers this edition and is expecting a 50% increase in traffic on its platform than last year. The current edition has also brought in gamification, with four games - Brand Hunter, Logo Mania, Crossword and Santa Delivery, that customers played to earn points before the sale went live. The games were played by 6.5 lakh users. Myntra also on-boarded 50 influencers, the highest so far, to expand its marketing reach. Harish Narayanan, Head – Marketing, Myntra Jabong further shared how the platform ramped up its marketing game to grow the user base, increase brand salience and engagement on the platform. “We have increased the number of creatives we made by 10X. We will be reaching 300 million users with our combined marketing plan this time,” says Narayanan. In a first, 50 new brands were launched on Myntra, ahead of the mega sale event, offering shoppers the widest selection till date on the platform. Myntra has also scaled up the selection of its private brands with 1.5 lakh styles across apparel, accessories and footwear. Key categories with expected high demand include winter wear, women’s ethnic and western wear, denims, street wear, sports and beauty. The 11th edition will end on December 25. Myntra has also partnered with over 35 brands to enable deliveries directly from their stores resulting in a wider selection and faster deliveries for customers during EORS. To increase the consumer's convenience, Myntra partnered with 200 tailors to offer alteration services in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata and opened 20 experience centres across the country to provide value-added services such as pick up, returns, trial rooms and alterations. The highly successful Kirana model, under MENSA (Myntra Extended Network for Service Augmentation) will cater to 70% of the overall deliveries, through 15,000 stores across the country. In addition to this, there are 9 forward deployment centres around high-demand clusters, to enhance logistical capabilities. Myntra has also expanded the number of pin codes served to 23,000, providing access to customers across all corners of the country.

The company said in a statement that due to the active cooperation extended by WazirX and active anti-money laundering (AML) checks that led to the blocking of suspicious accounts, "ED has unfreezed the bank accounts of WazirX". "WazirX is now in a position to continue its banking operations as usual," said the crypto exchange. Last month, ED sleuths raided WazirX's parent company Zanmai Lab. It searched the premises and froze its bank assets worth ₹ 64.67 crore "for assisting accused instant loan App companies in laundering of fraud money via purchase and transfer of virtual crypto assets". The ED has been conducting an investigation of 16 fintech companies and Instant loan apps, some of them happened to use WazirX platform. The company clarified that it has no association with any of the alleged accused fintech and instant loan app entities which appear to be the subject of ED investigation and "is carrying out the <keyword id="12656622" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kyc/aml" source="Orion">KYC/AML</keyword> checks despite having no legal obligation to do so". "WazirX is like any other intermediary whose platform may have been misused. After an in-depth internal investigation, WazirX noticed that most of the users whose information was sought by ED were already identified as suspicious by WazirX internally and were already blocked in 2020-2021," said the company. WazirX is India's largest crypto exchange and has over 12 million users. Several crypto exchanges are under the ED radar for their alleged involvement in money laundering of around ₹ 10 billion. Late last month, crypto exchange <keyword id="10245463" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="coinswitch-kuber" source="Orion">CoinSwitch Kuber</keyword>'s CEO Ashish Singhal said that the company fully cooperated with the ED officials in <keyword id="6354321" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="bengaluru" source="Orion">Bengaluru</keyword>, after reports surfaced that ED raided its premises over alleged money laundering under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. Singhal said that the company's engagement with the ED was not related to any money laundering inquiry. "Enforcement Directorate-Bengaluru has been engaged with us with respect to functioning of our crypto platforms/exchanges. We are fully cooperating with them," he had said in a tweet thread. ED recently froze crypto lending platform Vauld's bank assets worth ₹ 370 crore over its "predatory lending practices".
