Constant currency growth of 3.9% in the quarter, while ahead of estimates, was significantly lower than peers. Margins came ahead of expectations while dealflow remained strong,” added the report. “We have witnessed an all rounded performance this quarter with growth across our key markets and industry sectors. We continue to see strong traction in large deal wins as we are helping our customers in integrated digital transformation,” said CP Gurnani, managing director and chief executive officer of Tech Mahindra. Tech Mahindra shares surge as for the first time in over five years the management sees a 10% plus growth

IFC's first investment in an EV manufacturer in the country, and the first in electric three-wheelers globally, will be in the form of compulsory convertible instruments at a valuation of up to Rs 6,020 crore. The Rs 600 crore investment will result in an ownership of between 9.97 per cent to 13.64 per cent for IFC in NewCo. NewCo will house the last mile mobility division, including three wheelers (Alfa, Treo, Zor) and four-wheeler SCV (Jeeto). "With the electrification of the last mile mobility business at scale, we will move a step further in our commitment to be aPlanet Positive' by 2040. This also presents a tremendous opportunity for growth for micro and women entrepreneurs," said Anish Shah, MD and CEO, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra. India has committed to reducing its emissions profile by 45 per cent by 2030, and simultaneously aims to achieve 80 per cent EV penetration for two-and three-wheelers, 70 per cent for commercial vehicles and 30 per cent for private cars in the same time-frame. "India is the largest three-wheeler market globally, and this investment marks a significant step towards scaled domestic production of electric vehicles catering to this segment, as well as small commercial vehicles," said Hector Gomez Ang, IFC's Regional Director for South Asia. IFC to invest Rs 600 cr in Mahindra & Mahindra's new last-mile EV firm

One of India's top five technology services companies, Tech Mahindra, reported a rather disappointing set of earnings on Friday. However, the stock is still cheap and it can gain another 15% in the next one year, says a report from Kotak Institutional equities, which cut the estimate for the company's earnings per share by up to 22%. New Delhi, Feb 21 () Mahindra &amp; Mahindra on Friday said its wholly-owned arm Mahindra Renewables will sell its entire stake in three subsidiaries to CLP India, a part of Hong Kong-based CLP Group, for nearly Rs 340 crore. Mahindra Renewables Pvt Ltd (MRPL) has on Friday agreed to sell its entire stake aggregating 100 per cent of the paid-up equity share capital in Cleansolar Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd (CREPL), Divine Solren Pvt Ltd (DSPL) and Neo Solren Pvt Ltd (NSPL), wholly-owned subsidiaries of MRPL, to CLP India Pvt Ltd (CLP), Mahindra &amp; Mahindra said in a regulatory filing. As per the share purchase agreement, CLP will acquire 96,23,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each in CREPL at a price of Rs 113.11 per share, aggregating to Rs 108.85 crore. Similarly, it will acquire 1,20,80,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each in DSPL at a price of Rs 104.57 per share, aggregating to Rs 126.32 crore. CLP will also buy 93,15,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each of NSPL at a price of Rs 112.37 per share aggregating to Rs 104.67 crore, the filing said. In the fiscal ended March 31, 2019, CREPL had a turnover of Rs 39.15 crore, while DSPL's and NSPL's turnover stood at Rs 54.18 crore and Rs 42.68 crore, respectively. The transaction is expected to be completed by May 31, 2020. The roll-out of the new network has slipped on the list of priorities for many in the battle against the pandemic. Even though Tech Mahindra’s focus is squarely on 5G, there is a lack of clarity around the timeline, according to Motilal Oswal. While the IT services company will definitely gain if and when 5G emerges full throttle, especially as a partner with the Japanese Rakuten Mobile, it won’t likely be in the current fiscal year. “Activity in the telecom sector is starting to happen, both in the IT and networks side. But the network side revival has been slower. It has grown slower than the rest of the business. We still believe 5G will appear more in FY 22, and not in the current fiscal,” Tech Mahindra CFO Manoj Bhat told Business Insider in an interview last month. Currently, Tech Mahindra sees 5G as a $63 to $83 billion opportunity between 2020 to 2025. A new strategy for cloud and platforms Global spending on cloud services is expected to hit $1 trillion in 2024 spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC). The strongest growth in the ‘as a service’ category set to account for more to 60% of cloud revenues worldwide. Within that, Tech Mahindra is targeting the smallest cloud category — infrastructure build. This includes hardware, software, and support for enterprise private clouds and service provider public clouds. Mahindra & Mahindra to raise prices of tractors from January 1

New Delhi, Jun 1 () Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services Ltd (Mahindra Finance) on Monday said it will raise up to Rs 3,500 crore through rights issue of shares. The board of directors in its meeting on Monday considered and approved a fundraising of up to Rs 3,500 crore through rights issue, Mahindra Finance said in a regulatory filing. "Further, the board has authorised the rights issue committee to proceed with the rights issue forthwith, and, inter-alia, decide the other terms and conditions of the rights issue, including setting the record date, determining the price, appointment of intermediaries and various other related matters," it said. Mahindra Finance said the board of directors also approved the increase in authorised share capital, pending shareholders' approval, in the ensuing annual general meeting on June 30 through video-conferencing.
