<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image">Reuters<keyword id="6378093" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="McDonalds">McDonald's</keyword> experienced its slowest average speed of service in the study's 15-year history.</div></div></div><keyword id="296144" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Wendys">Wendy's</keyword> has the quickest drive-thru service compared to six of its competitors, with wait times averaging two minutes and 14 seconds, according to a recent study by <a href="http://www.qsrmagazine.com/reports/drive-thru-performance-study">QSR Magazine</a>.
<keyword id="131257" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Taco-Bell">Taco Bell</keyword> and Taco John's came in second and third place behind Wendy's with a 158-second wait and a 181-second wait, respectively, the annual study found. 
In fourth place was McDonald's (189 seconds), followed by <keyword id="33542" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Burger-King">Burger King</keyword> (198 seconds), Chick-fil-A (204 seconds) and Krystal (218 seconds).
Every restaurant had a slower drive-thru line this year compared to last year, except for Burger King.
McDonald's experienced its slowest average speed of service in the study's 15-year history, while Chick-fil-A's was its slowest showing since 1998 and Krystal's was the slowest since 1999.
Insula Research, which helped conduct the study, attributed the longer wait times to expanded menus and more complicated food and drink offerings, such as McDonald's Pumpkin Spice Latte and Chocolate Chip Frappe.
"It's not just a couple different products that employees are worrying about anymore," Insula Research President Brian Baker said. 
In response to customer complaints about its wait times, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/mcdonalds-is-adding-a-drive-thru-window-2013-11#ixzz2mLxHDjuj">McDonald's is planning to add a third window to its drive-thru lanes</a>. 
While Krystal's wait was the longest, it had the best order accuracy among the group, followed by Burger King and Wendy's, according to the study.
On the other end of the spectrum was Chick-fil-A, which had the worst order accuracy but the friendliest customer service, the study found.
To determine the rankings, researchers recorded more than 3,600 wait times at hundreds of locations for seven fast food chains during the lunch and dinner hours.

A California couple placed $1000 in cash in baby items at different Target stores to 'give back' to other parents

The 13-year-old is enrolled at the <a href="http://magnolia.desotocountyschools.org/?PageName=%27AboutTheSchool%27">Magnolia School</a> for special education students in DeSoto County, Miss. Enrollment is contingent upon having an Individualized Educational Program (<a href="http://nichcy.org/schoolage/iep/overview#contents">IEP</a>), which federal law requires for all special education students.
After Krystin ran away from the school twice in one day, Magnolia staff enlisted school resource officer (SRO) Robert "Scooter" Rayborn to help locate her. Before the day was over, Krystin would be in handcuffs.
Although her IEP painstakingly details Krystin's behavior when forcibly restrained, Rayborn seized her by the arm, causing her to lash out and knock him to the ground. The officer then tackled her and dragged her off to a county detention facility.
Krystin's mother was surprised when she heard her daughter had been arrested after running away. "Her IEP clearly states that she runs, so I didn't understand why she'd be arrested for that," says Krystal Polk. That's when the teacher explained that Krystin had assaulted a police officer.
Krystal notes that the school itself did not press the charges; she says the decision to arrest and charge her daughter was made by Rayborn (under the auspices of the DeSoto County School District), who claimed that he detained the girl "for her own good."
"When I spoke to him, he said he had been watching Krystin and thought she was behaving abnormally," Krystal explains. He arrested her so he could "get her some help."
"How could he know she needed help?" asks Krystal. "He's not a psychologist."
An hour after she spoke with Rayborn, Krystal reached the detention facility where he was taking Krystin, only to find they hadn't arrived yet. The drive shouldn't have taken more than 20 minutes.
When at last Rayborn showed up with Krystin, it was late in the day. With no one available to process and release her, she would have to spend the night in jail. In all, Krystin was detained for 24 hours.
At a court hearing several months later, the judge dismissed the charges, which by then had been changed from assault to disorderly conduct and failure to comply. "The judge said certain things were not handled correctly," says Krystal - an assessment supported by both the detention facility's intake officer and an ACLU attorney.
The incident is a microcosm of parallel issues that afflict U.S. public schools: <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/marian-wright-edelman/the-growing-problem-of-ov_b_171050.html">over-policing</a> and inadequate training for police officers charged with safeguarding students.
As reported by the ACLU in <a href="https://www.aclu.org/files/pdfs/racialjustice/whitepaper_policinginschools.pdf">Policing In Schools</a>:

[S]chool districts and law enforcement agencies often fail to pay sufficient attention to the ways in which policing in schools is unique; many have no formal governance document for these officers at all.

Krystal is now working with the ACLU to pass legislation requiring that Mississippi SROs be trained to deal properly with children who have autism or other special needs. She urges parents of children with autism to understand their rights and to stand firm. "Be an advocate for your child," she says, "because no one else will."
"A lot of parents don't want to speak up," Krystal adds. "They're scared of retaliation by the school district. But I know my rights, and I'm not afraid to fight for them."

The I-T department has developed a mobile app for paying taxes and tracking refunds and is considering issuing PANs on real time basis using Aadhaar biometric. 
 "Income Tax department is considering issuing of Permanent Account Number (PAN) on a real time basis using Aadhaar's e-KYC facility. The proposal is at an initial stage of consideration," Minister of State for <keyword id="25455" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="finance">Finance</keyword> <keyword id="258592" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Santosh-Kumar-Gangwar">Santosh Kumar Gangwar</keyword> said in a written reply to the <keyword id="6355187" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha">Lok Sabha</keyword> today. 
 
Besides, he said a mobile app "for paying taxes online has been developed. The mobile application has the functionality to pay taxes and track refunds".

"Also, online paperless PAN application facility using Aadhaar based e-KYC and e-signature is available through the websites of PAN services providers NSDL eGov and UTIITSL. In this facility, Aadhaar data is used for allotment of PAN and there is no need to upload scanned copies of any document," <keyword id="388942" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="gangwar">Gangwar</keyword> said. 
 
The aadhaar-based e-KYC facility would allow individuals or entities wanting to apply for PAN to verify details such as date of birth or address by way of biometric identification using thumb impressions.

So far, more than 111 crore Aadhar numbers have been issued. The unique identification number is being used for getting a new SIM card, for opening bank accounts, transfer of subsidies and also for biometric-based digital payments under Aadhaar Enabled Payment System. 
 
As per the government estimate, every year 2.5 crore people across the country apply for PAN cards. 
 
There are more than 25 crore PAN card holders in the country.

New Delhi, Feb 9 () Continuing efforts to further improve ease of doing business, the government will introduce an integrated electronic form for incorporating new companies from February 15, wherein EPFO and ESIC registration numbers will also be allotted at the same time. The corporate affairs ministry would introduce the form -- SPICe+ -- to offer 10 services. Currently, the ministry has the electronic form SPICe (Simplified Proforma for Incorporating Company Electronically) and that would be replaced with SPICe+. The 10 services offered through the new form would help in "saving as many procedures, time and cost for starting a business in India," the ministry said in a public notice. The labour ministry, Department of Revenue in the finance ministry and the Maharashtra government would also be offering certain services through the form. Registration for EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organisation) and ESIC (Employees' State Insurance Corporation) would be mandatory for all new companies incorporated from February 15. EPFO and ESIC registration numbers would not be separately issued by the respective agencies, the notice said. Further, registration for profession tax would be compulsory for companies incorporated in Maharashtra from February 15. Besides name reservation and incorporation of a company, EPFO and ESIC registration numbers would be issued. Mandatory issuance of PAN (Permanent Account Number), TAN (Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number), Profession Tax Registration (Maharashtra) and opening of bank account for the company concerned would be done through the form. Director Identification Number (DIN) and GSTIN, if applied, would also be allotted. GSTIN is the Goods and Services Tax Identification Number. The corporate affairs ministry is implementing the Companies Act and all required filings under the law as well as incorporation of companies are made through its portal MCA21. The new form would be available on this portal. "All new companies incorporated through SPICe+... would also be mandatory required to apply for opening the company's bank account through the AGILE-PRO linked web form," the notice said. There are more than 11.5 lakh active registered companies in the country and thousands of companies are getting incorporated every month. Govt to reduce time taken for starting biz; to introduce new e-form

New Delhi, Jan 5 () The Centre has deallocated a coal block in Odisha allotted to a wholly-owned arm of Power Finance Corporation (PFC) for a 4000 MW power project on account of delays in the development of the mine.
 "It has noted that even after lapse of nine years since allocation of the coal block (Bankhui), no progress has been made to operationalise the coal block...It has been decided, with the approval of the competent authority, to deallocate Bankhui coal block that was allotted in favour of Sakhigopal Integrated Power Company Ltd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of PFC)," the coal ministry said in a letter to the managing director of Sakhigopal Integrated Power Company Ltd.
 The coal ministry had in 2010 allocated the coal block in Odisha for a 4000 MW power project to be set up by Sakhigopal Integrated Power Company Ltd.
 As per the allocation letter, one of the conditions of the allocation was that allocation/mining lease of the coal block may be cancelled on the grounds, including unsatisfactory progress in the development of coal mining project.
 Due to the long delay in development of the mine, show-cause notices were sent by the coal ministry in 2013 and 2019.
 PFC Consulting Ltd in its reply stated that the bidding process for selection of developer "has not yet started and the same would be undertaken after the issuance of guidelines and standard bidding documents by Ministry of Power and receipt of administrative approval from Government of Odisha."

Ex-Apple employees launch AI-Pin, a wearable which wants to replace your smartphone

New Delhi, Nov 26 () Chinese smartphone maker OPPO on Tuesday said it has integrated 'Digilocker' service into the latest version of its ColorOS operating system as part of its efforts to ensure safety and security of user data.
 The new operating system, which will start rolling out across OPPO's portfolio of devices later this month, also includes a personal information protection option that lets users protect their personal information from third-party apps.
 "The launch of ColorOS 7 with a revamped interface and enhanced features is a testament to OPPO's continued focus on elevating consumer experience. We are constantly listening to our customers and wanted to empower them to experience the ease and convenience of paperless governance," OPPO India Vice President R&amp;D Tasleem Arif said.
 In line with this endeavour, OPPO has become the first smartphone brand to integrate Digilocker service into ColorOS 7 and has come up with a localised feature called 'DocVault', he added.
 A part of the Indian government's Digital India initiative, Digital Locker allows users to store documents like driving licence and Aadhaar card digitally, instead of having to carry these in physical format.
 "We place utmost importance on privacy protection and securing user data. To this end, we have ensured that the user information will be stored and fetched directly from the government server," he noted.
 ColorOS 7 also has a feature where users can say no to an app that seeks access to contacts. In such a scenario, blank contact information is sent to the third-party app and this does not affect the normal operation of the app.
 Arif said another feature that is aimed at enhancing security is the 'private safe' feature in ColorOS 7 that allows users to transfer photos, videos, audio, and other documents to a "secure zone" on the device that is not accessible by any other app.
 OPPO ColorOS Senior Principal Engineer Manoj Kumar said that the team at OPPO headquarters and the India R&amp;D team worked closely for one year to conceptualise and globally implement ColorOS 7.
 The ColorOS 7 update will be rolled out to over 20 phone models in a phased manner from later this month, covering Reno, Find, F, K, and A series.
