majority of the revenue is earned from this segment (close to 98-99%). We have a positive view of the company from the long term perspective, given government support to the infrastructure sector, high experience in the execution of road projects, technical capabilities and stable financials.” Strong order book and financial performance Over the last two decades, GR Infra has transformed itself from a small regional player to a pan-India EPC company. Order book of the company grew from a meagre ₹1,700 crore in FY14 to a massive ₹19,000 crore, said a report by Prabhudas Lilladher. Its revenue has seen strong 33% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in the last three years (much higher than listed peers), primarily driven by strong order intake and expansion in new geographies The company has three manufacturing facilities -- one each in Rajasthan, Assam and Uttar Pradesh -- for the manufacturing of key raw materials and also a fabrication and galvanizing unit in Gujarat. All these enable it to be less dependent on third party equipment providers and also efficiently manage its project execution schedules. In FY19, FY20 and FY21, the company executed 80%, 50% and 50%, respectively, of the projects prior to the completion dates, said Choice Broking in a report. Robust track record With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, GR Infraprojects’ promoters and management team have a track record of timely executing over 100 road construction projects since 2006. “With superior project management capabilities and integrated business model, the company received ₹280 crore as early completion bonus in its projects,” said a report by Prabhudas Lilladher. The company’s order book of ₹19,000 crore is well diversified across the country (Uttar Pradesh -- 23%, Madhya Pradesh -- 18%, Maharashtra -- 14%, Gujarat -- 13%), but concentrated in the roads segment at 97%. In the less than 3 years since Uber Eats launched, customers are expensing hundreds of thousands of meals annually, according to internal data from payroll provider SAP Concur, with a year-over-year increase of more than seven-fold.The program integrates directly with Uber for Business' dashboard, which allows managers and HR employees insight into employee spending with Uber - everything from centralized billing, to expense codes, time limitations, and more. Two of Uber's most popular services are joining forces as the company races toward an IPO

The <keyword id="22186137" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="US-transport-security-body" source="keywords">US transport security body</keyword> has sought a unique "one-stop agreement" with <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="India" source="keywords">India</keyword> to end the rescreening of <keyword id="19915258" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="passengers" source="keywords">passengers</keyword>, asserting that the "really powerful" concept will raise global <keyword id="20051539" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="aviation" source="keywords">aviation</keyword> <keyword id="19900703" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="security" source="keywords">security</keyword> standards. Addressing the India US Aviation Summit here on Tuesday, David Pekoske, Administrator of the US Transportation Security Administration (USTSA) said that the one-stop security concept is "very reachable" between the countries. "I think very tangible and very reachable between India and the United States is one-stop security," he said. "It's a concept that expedites the flow of passengers and baggage to their destinations by eliminating the duplication of security controls at transfer points," Pekoske said. He said in the case of a one-stop agreement, passengers who reach an airport in another country and have a connecting domestic flight would not need to be rescreened and their checked bags would go from aircraft to aircraft. Terming it a "really powerful" concept, Pekoske said it raises global aviation security standards. "Flights inbound to the United States are more secure. If there's a reverse agreement between the United States and India where US screening satisfies Indian requirements, that means that flights to India would also be more secure. It does require the regular exchange of information," he said. "It requires improvements to security processes to maintain the agreement. It yields a reduction in security costs through better allocation of resources, reduces flight connection times and missed connections, and improves the passenger experience," he said. Pekoske said the two countries should consider signing a memorandum of agreement to share sensitive security information. "We have a category of classification of information that is not classified in the true sense of classified material, but it is sensitive enough that it needs additional protections," he said. He said that whenever there is a sharing of sensitive security information -- which is critical to a growing partnership -- there is a need to have a memorandum of agreement which covers the aspects of that sharing arrangement. He noted that both the TSA and India's transportation security posture were born of cruel tragedy. For India, it was the bombing of Air India 'Kanishka' Flight 182 in 1985, while for the TSA, it was the 9-11 attacks in 2001. "These tragic events were paradigm shifts in how we both thought about transportation security that continues today," he said. Meanwhile, addressing the summit, US Federal Aviation Administrator Michael Whitaker said that India and the United States need to work together on issues like aviation safety. Asserting that safety is a team sport, he said that sharing data between the two countries can allow better identification and mitigation of risks in the sector. "Our (US and India's) national systems of aviation are inextricably linked into a single global network," he said, adding that the two counties have adjoining air spaces, integrated supply chains, and international services that connect their economies and people. "We need to work together on issues like safety, we need to share ideas and share innovations, especially in how to safely incorporate some of these new technologies into our airspace," he said. Noting that the two countries have different systems that will take different approaches to solving challenges, he said, "We can and should work together to share best practices and learn from one another." "We all have an interest in increasing safety within our respective countries, but we must work together to increase the level of safety in the global aviation system," he added. "This means sharing data. Sharing information allows us to better identify and mitigate risks before those risks become accidents and even before they become failures to the safety layers in our system," he added. "When I started in aviation, accidents were unfortunately not uncommon. They were almost annual events, and safety regulators learned from those accidents and made the system safer," he said. "For the past couple of decades, we've moved beyond that model, and accidents are now extremely rare, and they are simply unacceptable as an outcome," Whitaker said. "Our challenge is to bring safety to the next level, and that means we need to proactively analyse data and find those risks of failure and mitigate those risks before they happen," he said. Asserting that all the job categories in the aviation sector are highly sought after, he said that "for regulators, it means new questions about how we oversee those operations". "We have to find a safe yet nimble way to regulate these new entrants who are operating at the speed of a startup while we are operating at the speed of government, he said. He added that there is a need to figure out how to close the gap, identify these risks and leverage technology to incorporate them safely into the airspace. "In the US, we've seen the public perception of safety and risk in the system evolve over time. As more people have access to aviation, the expectation grows that the system will be completely safe," he asserted. The AI Pin can basically be considered as the integration of AI chatbots like ChatGPT into a device, capable of placing calls, messaging and more. In addition to this, the device can currently provide real-time translation, answer questions, summarise your emails, provide nutritional information about your food and more. The company reportedly plans on adding more features such as navigation and shopping. Ex-Apple employees launch AI-Pin, a wearable which wants to replace your smartphone

Both Amazon and I experienced growth simultaneously. I left Amazon in 2022 for a new opportunity at Meta.It's hard to make a generic statement about a large company like <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-enforces-new-office-hours-rule-targets-coffee-badging-compliance-2024-7">Amazon</a>. Factors like managers, colleagues, and projects can have huge positive or negative impacts on your career. Therefore, these factors don't necessarily relate to or can't be generalized to Amazon as a whole.I joined Amazon during one of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/16/technology/inside-amazon-wrestling-big-ideas-in-a-bruising-workplace.html">its darkest times</a> when the work culture was at its <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.theguardian.com/money/2014/nov/28/being-homeless-is-better-than-working-for-amazon">most toxic</a>. But they had already begun making changes to improve.I started as a junior engineer in 2014 and left as a senior. While working there, I never felt indifferent toward the company; I either loved or hated it.<h2 id="bc2e573e-e216-4736-954f-00bad6a5bd42">What I liked about Amazon</h2>There were positive aspects of working for Amazon that benefited my personal and professional growth.<h3 id="590fad9f-cc88-4b9e-bba8-36cbc6ce40a2">The ultimate ownership</h3>I loved that you were never assigned a task to follow blindly at Amazon.Instead, you were often responsible for owning a project from start to finish. Sometimes, you were only given a vague description of what needed to be done, like integrating Microsoft business software into the Amazon system.You researched the problem, prepared a solution, and crowdsourced revisions of the plan until you reached a design consensus. You also had to launch and monitor the feature.Amazon felt like an <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/quit-amazon-job-anxiety-stress-2023-10">engineer-driven company</a> because technical engineers had control over entire projects versus being assigned small tasks by non-technical managers. I liked this about the company because it leads to better design decisions and more autonomy.<h3 id="cc4a7454-0e8a-49ee-97bd-796c8292145d">Engineering excellence</h3>Many services at Amazon Web Services (AWS) are pay-as-you-go rather than subscription or one-time payment. This means AWS loses revenue if the systems aren't running reliably. The same is true for the retail website. Any automated system has to be expertly engineered, or the company will lose money.As a developing engineer, I loved working at this high level. For every feature launch, you needed enough code coverage, reliable tests, proper metrics and alarms, an effective dashboard, and a detailed runbook to reduce the possibility of potential issues.As a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-tech-lead-despite-lacking-technical-skills-curtis-einsmann-2022-7">young engineer</a>, it was time-consuming, but it trained me to have better code quality and engineering approaches in the long run. It also meant there were fewer frustrating bugs to fix later in the process.<h3 id="05be25dc-bb35-4fb6-bb6f-bd7c561102a4">There were lot of learning resources</h3>A wide range of learning materials were available internally at Amazon. It helped you ramp up quickly and resolve almost every possible issue in a short space of time.There was a YouTube-like channel for internally sourced and created educational videos, a stack-overflow-type website where engineers can seek help from their peers, and an efficient searching system that looks for anything inside wikis, emails, or codes, to name a few.<h3 id="5859576d-3cd3-464f-b197-07171e053750">Your technical voice is heard regardless of your seniority</h3>In engineering discussions, what you said mattered more than your level. As a senior engineer, I ran a training on "customer obsession," one of the main "leadership principles" that define Amazon employees.I encouraged new hires always to challenge others' decisions, especially if a clear, rational reason wasn't obvious.I've sat in many meetings where a junior employee asked a senior colleague challenging questions. Seniors at Amazon have to respond meaningfully and never in a way that assumes they are correct simply because of their seniority.<h2 id="128d6b4c-730e-4f2c-aa7d-a28015aedbe8">Things that could be changed at Amazon</h2>Amazon has some great initiatives, but I believe some aspects could be improved or changed for the better, especially when it comes to creating a more efficient and happy workforce.<h3 id="f23e083b-22ed-46e3-b0b8-4f78a0641d1f">There was always something against you in the Leadership Principles</h3>While many companies stick to a couple of values to define their culture, Amazon's <a target="_blank" href="https://www.amazon.jobs/content/en/our-workplace/leadership-principles">leadership principles</a> are ever-increasing. These are the guiding values they judge employees on.When I joined, Amazon had 12 principles; now, they have 16. These principles are part of Amazonians' daily communication, whether you want to praise or critique someone. It's common to hear things like "You need to show better bias for action" or "Thanks for your bias for action."Because there are so many principles, managers could use them in contradictory ways. For instance, a feature delivered under a very tight deadline may have obvious limitations. One manager could praise you for "delivering results" and "bias for action," while another could claim that you needed improvement on the "Insist on highest standards" principle.Managers could easily manipulate them to critique employees. If a manager wants to give you a bad rating, they have many options to find something.<h3 id="458f6fdb-c2f6-4425-aa5d-7c91fe755045">Promotions weren't straight-forward</h3>At Amazon, to get promoted, you needed examples of your experience or "stories" for each leadership principle to advance. Each story had to be validated by an employee at least one level higher than you.From my experience, getting promoted wasn't about <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-annual-performance-review-process-bonus-salary-2021-4">how well you do your job at Amazon</a>; it was about finding the right team and projects to fulfill your promotion criteria. Playing the "promotion game" is not limited to Amazon, but it was apparent there.If you were lucky to be in the right environment, fulfilling stories happened naturally. However, in most cases, you need to pre-plan well before the promotion dates to ensure you've completed the necessary elements of <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/inside-amazon-performance-rating-system-2020-4">your promotion</a>.If your manager is new, your colleagues are juniors, or the team's projects are not impactful enough, it's much more difficult for you to move up.<h3 id="b210fe34-7320-486c-8163-9f9154378c65">Amazon on-call shifts were frustrating and exhausting</h3>At Amazon, most of our product decisions were based on customers.Even when dealing with tickets, we always looked for customer-originated ones to action first. If customers were not happy, employees were often blamed.On-calls — when an engineer is "<a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/retailers-ending-on-call-shift-scheduling-benefits-businesses-2016-12">on-call</a>" to fix bugs — could be especially frustrating. You could get paged any time during your shift to solve a problem. It was hard to find a team at Amazon that didn't have heavy on-call shifts.Engineers could work all night on operational issues without extra compensation, and talented people left because of on-call frustrations. These on-call shifts prevented me from going on trips. I was paged during friend's birthdays or dinners at a restaurant and would have to leave to fix a problem.I remember once getting paged at 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. When I woke up at 4 a.m. to work on an issue, my body started to shake badly, and I had to wrap myself in blankets for 15 minutes before I could open my laptop.Once, I asked a VP about possibly being paid overtime for on-calls that took longer than your allotted shift. They responded, "If you do your on-calls perfectly, the Amazon stock goes up, and you would benefit from it." It felt like a weak justification for unfair treatment.<h3 id="93f2fd9d-e647-44d0-8a7c-f21c0c611c55">Amazon pushed people to work hard, really fast</h3>I had a week to complete the boot camp and the ramp-up process when I joined Amazon. In the second week, I got a real task. I enjoyed getting my hands dirty as quickly as possible.However, recruits often struggled to keep up with the company's pace, affecting their work quality. When I joined <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-alexa-voice-assistant-dropped-ball-former-employee-says-2024-6">the Alexa team,</a> a teammate told me to "Drink water from the hose," meaning I had to learn a lot quickly. I found it very stressful because I wanted to prove myself, but I didn't have the experience that meant I could work quickly.Once you're up to speed, managers had to give the names of the bottom <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-managers-attrition-corporate-workers-coaching-program-2023-2">10% of performers</a> to HR every quarter. Low performers were often put on mentorship programs or more <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/pip-performance-improvement-plan-employee-tech-amazon-google-2023-12">serious performance plans</a> — similar to PIP. Unfortunately, I saw many new hires end up in one of these plans in the first few months and leave the company under huge stress.The mentorship programs were high stakes and pushed many employees to their limits rather than their best potential.I was once assigned to help a colleague on an improvement program. He was very stressed and desperately asked me to add some coding tasks to the project to fulfill his program requirements. I assigned him to write test codes, even though I had more pressing tasks I needed help with. After a few months, he moved to another company despite the lower salary.Even managers can be affected by the fast-paced environment. I saw managers try to alleviate some of the pressure experienced by employees, yet the employees still ended up leaving Amazon. New and less senior managers often experience the most stress because they have to deal with pressure from engineers and higher managers.<h2 id="c09cf37e-d8d0-493b-b87d-5890212bd8b8">Final thoughts</h2>In a nutshell, Amazon is a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-andy-jassy-wooed-wall-street-overhauled-bloated-tech-giant-2024-7">great engineering company</a> with many high-impact and technically challenging projects. This helps employees learn top-notch concepts at a quick pace.However, it came with a price. Your health or relationships with loved ones could be impacted if you are unable to manage the stress properly. I was impatient while working at Amazon because I was under so much pressure. My honest review of working at Amazon for 7 1/2 years as a software engineer 

<ul class="summary-list"><li>The US Air Force is developing more dispersed bases to counter the threat posed by China's missiles.</li><li>That effort includes construction at established facilities and the reclamation of disused outposts.</li></ul>The US Air Force has been <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/air-force-studying-different-austere-bases-to-fight-in-pacific-2020-11" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scouring the Pacific for more airfields</a>, seeking alternatives to the handful of sprawling bases in the region that it has built up and relied on for decades.The search is part of an effort to disperse US forces to counter <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/new-pentagon-maps-show-chinas-increasing-military-power-and-reach-2020-9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the growing reach</a> of the Chinese military, which has <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/air-force-practicing-operating-fighter-jets-at-remote-pacific-bases-2021-1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">developed long-range missiles</a> that could strike the US's main operating bases hard at the beginning of a war.US troops have ventured to remote corners of the Pacific and to bases <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/navy-visit-to-ulithi-planning-for-potential-fight-in-pacific-2019-12" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rarely used since World War II</a> — including the island of Tinian, where they're reclaiming an airfield that last saw major use by B-29 bombers in 1944 and '45.<div type="image" title="Tinian International Airport satellite image" height="1125" width="1500" msid="105634586" hostid="261"></div>Tinian "has one airfield that's the international airfield, and there's another airfield, which was the largest B-29 base during World War II," Gen. Kenneth Wilsbach, the commander of US Pacific Air Forces, said at an Air &amp; Space Forces Association conference in September, adding: "It is largely overgrown by the jungle, but the runways and the taxiways are still underneath."The Allies captured Tinian from the Japanese in August 1944, bringing US bombers within 1,500 miles of Japan. US engineers quickly began building what became the <a href="https://www.nps.gov/articles/000/tinian-island-during-the-manhattan-project.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">biggest</a> and <a href="https://www.nps.gov/amme/learn/historyculture/battle-of-tinian.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">busiest</a> air base of the war. US planes were eventually flying from six 8,500-foot runways at West Field and North Field, the latter of which launched the B-29s that dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.West Field is now the site of <a href="https://cnmiports.com/tinapt.asp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tinian International Airport</a> and has one operating runway, while North Field is no longer in use. Officials <a href="https://www.dvidshub.net/news/415278/navfac-marianas-manages-tinian-divert-airfield-construction-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">broke ground</a> there in February 2022.The refurbished runway, just north of the airport's main runway, is meant to support agile combat employment, a concept for dispersed operations that envisions aircraft and airmen deploying from <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/air-force-agile-combat-employment-means-new-tasks-for-airmen-2021-3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">main "hub" bases to less developed "spoke" bases</a>.ACE is part of Air Force <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/nato-air-forces-training-in-finland-for-highway-ace-operations-2023-9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">operations around the world</a>, but it was developed with the Pacific in mind.<div type="image" title="Tinian Pacific Island map" height="1288" width="1640" msid="105634588" hostid="261"></div>"We're going to be clearing out the jungle" on that airfield, Wilsbach said in September. "We're going to be resurfacing some of the surfaces there so that we will have a very large and very functional agile-combat-employment base — an additional base to be able to operate from — and we have several other projects like that around the region that we'll be getting after."Documents released in March as part of the Air Force's 2024 <a href="https://www.saffm.hq.af.mil/FM-Resources/Budget/Air-Force-Presidents-Budget-FY24/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">budget request</a> outlined several projects at Tinian, asking for $78 million for them during that fiscal year.An airfield-development project includes "demolition of World War II-era airfield pavements," clearing and leveling surfaces, and installing drainage, utilities, and secure fencing. A fuel-pipeline project involves installing storage tanks, pipes, and safety equipment to allow ships to unload fuel for transport to the airfield by pipeline and truck.<div type="image" title="Marine Corps FA-18D Tinian West Field" height="901" width="1202" msid="105634589" hostid="261"></div>A parking-apron project involves paving aircraft parking and taxiways, the latter of which have to meet the Pentagon's "standards for ground control operations for large frame aircraft," the documents said. The apron would be big enough for 12 KC-135 and KC-46 tanker aircraft and related fueling equipment."The airfield, roadway, port, and pipeline improvements will provide vital strategic, operational, and exercise capabilities for the US forces," Capt. Gerald Peden, a spokesperson for Pacific Air Forces, said in response to questions about the work at Tinian. "The expanded divert airfield on Tinian will offer a valuable additional operating location for various peacetime activities, including responses to natural disasters in the region."Peden added: "Air Force engineers are scheduled to remove the vegetation that have penetrated through the cracks and joints of the old pavement surfaces. This vegetation consists mostly of grass, bushes, and small trees [and] will be removed manually and/or using heavy equipment. This is the first step in preparing the airfield for the actual repair work."<h2>Making ACE 'meaningful'</h2><div type="image" title="Air Force C-130 North Field Tinian" height="1331" width="2000" msid="105634592" hostid="261"></div>Tinian is isolated, but the investment isn't. Construction there "is part of a larger effort to expand facilities and general basing options in the Pacific," including on Guam, a nearby US territory that hosts <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-guam-became-one-of-most-important-us-military-bases-2021-6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">major military facilities</a>, Peden said.The work on Guam includes upgrades to the taxiway and parking areas at Northwest Field, which closed <a href="https://www.andersen.af.mil/Portals/43/Documents/Early%20AAFB%20Heritage%20Pamphlet_USAF%2075th%20Anniv%20(2022-23).pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in 1949</a> but has remained in limited use. There has been <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/air-force-practicing-operating-fighter-jets-at-remote-pacific-bases-2021-1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">more activity at Northwest Field</a> as the focus on ACE has increased, and Peden said it "is now capable of supporting various aircraft operations."The budget documents also listed projects at allies' airfields. "We're putting together packages that we're pre-positioning in theater, and so I can handle a significant amount [of] more resources to purchase that stuff and then get it out into the region."Simply spreading out may not be enough to sustain operations in a war. New Delhi, Feb 9 () Continuing efforts to further improve ease of doing business, the government will introduce an integrated electronic form for incorporating new companies from February 15, wherein EPFO and ESIC registration numbers will also be allotted at the same time. The corporate affairs ministry would introduce the form -- SPICe+ -- to offer 10 services. Currently, the ministry has the electronic form SPICe (Simplified Proforma for Incorporating Company Electronically) and that would be replaced with SPICe+. The 10 services offered through the new form would help in "saving as many procedures, time and cost for starting a business in India," the ministry said in a public notice. The labour ministry, Department of Revenue in the finance ministry and the Maharashtra government would also be offering certain services through the form. Registration for EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organisation) and ESIC (Employees' State Insurance Corporation) would be mandatory for all new companies incorporated from February 15. EPFO and ESIC registration numbers would not be separately issued by the respective agencies, the notice said. Further, registration for profession tax would be compulsory for companies incorporated in Maharashtra from February 15. Besides name reservation and incorporation of a company, EPFO and ESIC registration numbers would be issued. Mandatory issuance of PAN (Permanent Account Number), TAN (Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number), Profession Tax Registration (Maharashtra) and opening of bank account for the company concerned would be done through the form. Director Identification Number (DIN) and GSTIN, if applied, would also be allotted. GSTIN is the Goods and Services Tax Identification Number. The corporate affairs ministry is implementing the Companies Act and all required filings under the law as well as incorporation of companies are made through its portal MCA21. The new form would be available on this portal. "All new companies incorporated through SPICe+... would also be mandatory required to apply for opening the company's bank account through the AGILE-PRO linked web form," the notice said. There are more than 11.5 lakh active registered companies in the country and thousands of companies are getting incorporated every month. TrainerCentral — which will be a sister to Zoho’s other brands ManageEngine, Zoho and Qntrl — offers tools like website builder, business administration console, dedicated learner portal, payments gateway, online conferencing and analytics for the trainers. Aarthi Elizabeth, chief brand evangelist of TrainerCentral at Zoho, told Business Insider that Trainer Central is seen as a rival to “Coursera and Udemy” — which enables individuals and universities to offer their courses online. Coursera and Udemy have an entire catalogue of courses being offered online. Meanwhile, Zoho’s TrainerCentral offers a link to trainers who would like to hold live online sessions or classes with their students or customers.
