Infosys CEO Salil Parekh joins USISPF Board

<keyword id="6354512" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="infosys" source="Orion">Infosys</keyword> on Thursday announced the retirement of <keyword id="1440" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="kiran" source="Orion">Kiran</keyword> Mazumdar-Shaw as <keyword id="6390711" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="independent" source="Orion">Independent</keyword> Director from its Board, effective March 22, 2023, upon completion of her tenure. Accordingly, the Board has appointed D <keyword id="120337" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="sundaram" source="Orion">Sundaram</keyword> as the Lead Independent Director of the Company, effective Thursday based on the recommendation of the 'Nomination and Remuneration Committee'. Sundaram has been on the Board of Infosys since 2017. Sundaram serves on the Audit Committee, Risk Management Committee, <keyword id="16919243" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="stakeholders-relationship-committee" source="Orion">Stakeholders Relationship Committee</keyword>, Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and Cybersecurity Risk Sub-Committee. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw to retire from Infosys board

<keyword id="6354512" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Infosys">Infosys</keyword>, the Indian multinational corporation dealing in software, IT and business consulting, is thinking of adding at least two new members to its eight-member board in the coming six months. Infosys has always maintained a lean-board strategy, with not more than two executive directors, so as to ensure faster decision-making. 
 
After the exit of former ICICI Bank chairman KV Kamath and Carol M Browner, the company is eager to fill the vacant posts. Candidates experienced in financial services, government regulations and technology are the need of the hour for India's second largest software exporter. 
 In the meantime, <keyword id="369460" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jeffrey-Sean-Lehman">Jeffrey Sean Lehman</keyword>, who is a veteran of the <keyword id="675648" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Infosys-Board">Infosys board</keyword> and serves as the vice chancellor of NYU Shanghai, has got an extension for at least another year. Lehman’s term was to expire in 2016.

Infosys board to see 2 new members soon!

Country's second largest software services firm <keyword id="6354512" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Infosys">Infosys</keyword> announced the appointment of <keyword id="4715674" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="d-sundaram">D Sundaram</keyword> as an independent director with effect from July 14, according to PTI news report. The appointment is based on the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the Board, Infosys said in a statement. <keyword id="120337" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sundaram">Sundaram</keyword> is currently the Vice Chairman and MD of TVS Capital Funds Ltd. He joined Unilever Group in 1975 and has served in various leadership capacities in Unilever Group in a career spanning over 34 years. "He (Sundaram) brings extensive experience in the field of finance and strategy execution," Infosys Chairman <keyword id="484178" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="R-Seshasayee">R Seshasayee</keyword> said. Other independent directors on Infosys Board include Prof John W Etchemendy (<keyword id="101399" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Stanford-University">Stanford University</keyword>'s Provost), Roopa Kudva (former MD and CEO, Crisil), Dr Punita Kumar-Sinha (former Senior MD of Blackstone) and Jeffrey Sean Lehman (vice chancellor of <keyword id="4716260" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="nyu-shanghai">NYU Shanghai</keyword>). The solution has been built on the Salesforce Platform in support of Salesforce Work.com for Vaccines as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. The shares of Infosys ended 1.22% lower on Thursday. Mphasis IT firm Mphasis subsidiary, Mphasis Consulting, has acquired UK-based Datalytyx for up to £13.3 million (about ₹130.4 crore). The acquisition is expected to provide access to strengthen Mphasis next-generation Data GTM Strategy and provide higher value partnership status with Snowflake and Talend for cloud-based data services, a regulatory filing said. The shares of Mphasis ended 0.50% lower on Thursday. Syngene International Syngene International announced that it had signed an agreement with Deerfield Discovery and Development Corporation (3DC) to collaborate for five years to advance therapeutic discovery projects. The shares of Syngene International ended 0.86% lower on Thursday. Muthoot Finance and Manappuram Finance The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed penalties of ₹10 lakh and ₹5 lakh on Muthoot Finance and Manappuram Finance respectively for norm violations. The central bank has penalised Muthoot Finance for non-compliance with directions issued by RBI on maintenance of loan-to-value ratio in gold loans and on obtaining a copy of PAN card of the borrower while granting gold loans in excess of ₹5 lakh, contravening RBI norms. Manappuram Finance has been fined for non-compliance with directions issued by RBI on verification of ownership of gold jewellery The shares of Muthoot Finance ended 1% lower on Thursday, whereas Manappuram Finance lost nearly 2%. South Indian Bank South Indian Bank announced that the Marginal Cost of Funds Based Lending Rates (MCLR) for multiple tenors had been revised from November 20. Apollo Hospitals Apollo Hospitals and Tata Medical and Diagnostics (TataMD) have collaborated to introduce TataMD CHECK diagnostic test (Feluda) for COVID-19 in India. TCS embarks on a multi-year technology transformation cycle Gopinathan explained that currently, in the first phase of the multi-year technology transformation cycle, companies are building a cloud-based foundation. This will become the ‘resilient, secure and scalable’ digital core of their business. In the following phases, the industry will witness the native capabilities of these platforms coming up in new use cases. They will be used to create “innovative new business models and differentiated customer experiences,” he said. The cycle is driven by the desire to accelerate availing the business value of investments that clients have made in technology, according to TCS COO NG Subramanam. The company’s role is to help clients open up more micro services and ecosystems to building partnerships, not just internally within the organisation, but also with other companies. Subramaniam further highlighted that the multi-year cycle involved investments in multiple areas — whether it's the way of working, secure borderless work spaces (SBWS), the 25/25 vision and other measures — all of which are coming into play one way or another. “In the last six months, the resilience of cloud collaboration and digital has been proven beyond doubt,” he said. In the second quarter, TCS raked in $8.6 billion worth of new deals — including the deal with Phoenix Systems for $2.5 billion — with its revenue jumping 4.8% over the previous quarter and revenue up by 6.7% sequentially.

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited Automobile major Mahindra &amp; Mahindra and e-mobility technology company REE Automotive has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore development and manufacturing of commercial electric vehicles for global markets. “The partnership will support REE’s global customer need for 200,000-250,000 electric commercial vehicle units over a few years, including potential Mahindra’s domestic and international volumes.
