We have deployed nearly 300 personnel across all the beaches of Puducherry and we are coordinating with the NDRF also," the SSP said. The coastal areas of Puducherry witnessed rough sea and gusty winds on Saturday morning due to the impact of the cyclone. Cyclone Fengal: Chennai airport shut till 7 PM

Per the airline, its fuel costs jumped by 12.8% to Rs 6,605.2 crore, compared to Rs 5,856 crore in the year-ago period. Another expense area that witnessed an exponential surge was aircraft and engine rentals, which rose to Rs 763.6 crore in the second quarter. This stood at Rs 195.6 crore in the year-ago period. All in all, the company's total expenses burgeoned 22% to Rs 18,666.1 crore during the previous quarter. Indigo's <keyword id="20066400" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="revenue-from-operations" source="keywords">revenue from operations</keyword>, while down by 13.3% on a QoQ basis, from Rs 19,571 crore in June 2024 to Rs 16,970 crore as of September 2023, jumped 13.6% on a YoY basis. The company's revenue from operations during the September quarter in 2023 stood at Rs 14,944 crore. Microsoft outage – London Stock Exchange, banks and airlines across the world affected

For the full financial year 2024, we reported our highest ever total income of around 712 billion rupees (Rs 71,200 crore) with a net profit of around 82 billion rupees (Rs 8,200 crore) and a net profit margin of 11.9 per cent. The 4th quarter financial results were positive, making it all four quarters in FY24 profitable," IndiGo CEO <keyword id="20307450" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pieter-Elbers" source="keywords">Pieter Elbers</keyword> said. One of the officials on Tuesday said the revised norms have been deferred for some time to have wider consultations. The new norms provide for more rest time for pilots and seek to alleviate pilot fatigue. The latest decision comes less than two weeks after the <keyword id="19926254" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="directorate-general-of-civil-aviation" source="keywords">Directorate General of Civil Aviation</keyword> (DGCA) told airlines that the deadline for implementing the revised Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms will not be deferred. Another official said implementation of the revised FDTL norms has been deferred for some time to enable thorough consideration of all elements. The revised norms provide for increased weekly rest time to 48 hours for pilots and limit the number of landings to two during night operations. Also, all airlines have to compulsorily submit quarterly fatigue reports, which "should follow a non-punitive and confidentiality policy".

If the troubles of the budget airline which has <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/news/go-first-suspends-sale-of-tickets-till-may-15-dgca-asks-airline-to-process-refunds-for-passengers/articleshow/99982706.cms">filed</a> for insolvency compound, competition will ease in the low-cost segment giving IndiGo more control over air fares. IndiGo’s shares have surged by over 7% since May 2 when Go First announced that it had filed a voluntary insolvency petition with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). Despite the recent surge, IndiGo is flying light – literally and figuratively – with its valuations being attractive, according to brokerages. On the back of robust fleet utilization rates and the Indian aviation sector being on an upswing, IndiGo expects its revenue per available seat kilometre (RASK), a key metric for airlines, to grow at 15% in FY24. Now, new tailwinds like the grounding of Go First and the softening of crude oil prices are expected to give it a further boost. “The bias is positive towards airline stocks, predominantly IndiGo, for the next 9-12 months,” said a report by Motilal Oswal, adding that the airline is well positioned to improve its realisations and margins too.
