Jio Platforms, the firm that holds digital properties of the conglomerate, was included in the inaugural TIME 100 Most Influential Companies List of 2021. Serum Institute is the other Indian company on the list. TIME listed Reliance in the 'Titans' category (one of the five categories under which the companies were divided, other being Leaders, Disrupters, Innovators, and Pioneers). Tata was listed in 'Titan's' category while Serum under 'Pioneers'. "Reliance Industries was founded as a textile and polyester company 58 years ago by Dhirubhai Ambani. Today the sprawling conglomerate -- which has aligned its growth with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a 'self-reliant' India -- is the country's most valuable company, with a market capitalisation of more than USD 200 billion," TIME said. Now led by Dhirubhai's son Mukesh, the Mumbai-based company has ventures in energy, retail, and telecommunications, among others, and has made its chairman Asia's richest man, it said. At CNN, we noticed the critical lack of diversity in the media.Sumaiya: In 2017, we started a project training communities to tell their stories on mobile devices, which became our media business, <a target="_blank" href="http://Seen.tv">Seen TV</a>. Between 2017 and 2020, we delivered training to people in over 100 countries.It demanded a seriously nomadic life with no apartment, car, or postal address. We only slowed down in 2020 due to COVID.Yusuf: Building <a target="_blank" href="http://Seen.tv">Seen TV</a>, we fought to be the opening speaker or keynote at <a target="_blank" href="https://events.unglobalcompact.org/leaderssummit23/Speakers">conferences and events</a>.After landing the first few, we used video footage to send to other <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/C197Hd0pMlL/?igsh=MW1odmhhbnU1czBsZw%3D%3D">speaker events</a>, which had a snowball effect. In addition to being paid to speak, flights, food, and accommodation were covered.As young people on an international speaker circuit, it was an amazing way to see the world at no cost.From 2017 onwards, we didn't pay rent and had no direct debits, gym membership, or phone contracts. We were in a different place every few days.Sumaiya and I would often be double booked, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://isoj.org/speakers-2023/yusuf-omar/">speaking in different locations.</a>We could feel like two ships passing in the night. Our marriage involved meeting in airport lounges, and it was hellishly tiring.Sumaiya: COVID forced us to spend longer periods in a few locations and build our media company. Time differences and travel have been the only constants in our marriage. Everyone said we'd settle down with a baby. Our question was: why?Sumayia: Being pregnant while traveling was difficult, especially in busy airports.Once, while traveling alone in Sydney airport, I was collecting my bags when a woman rushed past and knocked a trolley into my stomach. I started crying, and the woman shouted at me and rushed off. Fortunately, both Noah and I were fine, but with a visible bump, I was extra careful on the move.Yusuf: I was in a different country, about to give a speech when it happened. Our team is dispersed across South Africa, the UK, the US, and India. We continue to travel to speak at conferences, run events, and attend business meetings. We've no fixed address and mostly stay in hotels.Living in hotels with Noah is chaos. We're out as much as possible, and I do 80% of my work walking with him in my backpack. Fitting everything in hand luggage is more difficult with Noah, but we manage.Yusuf: Our three major expenses are transport, hotels, and food.When we're on business trips, hotels are a business expense, which is the majority of why we travel.In addition to hotels, we've also spent short stints at our parents' homes and lived in a rented van.Fortunately, speaking engagements often cover our travel costs, but flexibility is crucial.The biggest change since Noah was born is that we use fewer Ubers and more car rentals because Ubers often don't have baby seats.Noah's under two years old, so we don't pay much for his flights. But, his experiences are positive in a different way.Yusuf: His life is ridiculously privileged. He travels the world, hangs out on beaches, and meets people constantly. Provided we stay healthy, we'll continue to live like this.Right now, the pace is insane, but we want to keep taking advantage of the opportunities for us and <a target="_blank" href="http://Seen.TV">Seen TV</a> before Noah turns two.The next priority is finding a full-time nanny to travel with us. We rarely have people we can leave Noah with, so there are no date nights or downtime. For example, Noah can have story time in bed anywhere. We like to swim with him daily, which is usually possible wherever we go.Yusuf: The key is finding the right partner. Opting for a nomadic life is complicated. You need flexibility, spontaneity, and minimal materialism in a partner.

<ul class="summary-list"><li>A TikToker named Jas says she accidentally booked an entire hotel in Bali after reserving an Airbnb.</li><li>Jas says she booked the property for a lower rate "a year in advance."</li></ul>A TikToker said she wanted to book a single Airbnb but mistakenly reserved an entire <a href="https://www.insider.com/bali-travel-guide-including-flights-accomodations-activities-restaurants-advisories-2021-10">hotel in Bali</a> for just over $3,000 for a week.<a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@jxx/video/7257166073647189275" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In the video posted earlier this week,</a> Jas (@jxx), who according to her TikTok bio<a href="https://www.instagram.com/jzs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> works as a "social media manager," told the tale to her more than 211,000 followers.</a>She captioned the TikTok: "WHY DOES STUFF LIKE THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME LOL." The video has gone viral and had over 2.7 million views and 282,000 likes as of Sunday. Jas and a representative for Airbnb did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/jzs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The property Jas </a><a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@jxx/video/7258948654034144539" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shared on her TikTok</a> appears to be this <a href="https://affiliate.insider.com?h=4772c248b7b1158792340f38c93aec100e6eb9bdd769127790422ad8aeb73bd0&amp;postID=64bbffe675976ff3ff4b67d9&amp;site=in&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.airbnb.com%2Frooms%2F17594831%3Fsource_impression_id%3Dp3_1690135647_3zwlZaYH6nEGjiQ4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Airbnb listing</a> of a four-bedroom villa in Ubud, a town in Bali. It has a 4.8 rating and says it provides "a relaxing atmosphere as well as a real tropical experience." The listing says it can host 11 guests and goes for $538 a night. In the video, Jas said she booked the property "a year in advance" for a family vacation. She said she let her grandparents choose the place, and they picked "the most expensive one" out of the options. Before leaving for the trip, Jas told her followers she anticipated issues."I just know there's going to be problems with this because, like, Bali increases their prices for everything every single year," Jas said. She added she was concerned her reservation would be canceled or doubled in price since she paid a lower rate.<h2>Before her vacation, Jas chatted with the owner of the villa</h2>Jas said she chatted with the property owner a week before her trip and learned it was under new management. The owner told her the price, accommodations, and amenities had all changed since she first booked, she said.Jas said the owner seemed confused and "frantic" about how she got such a low price, since the cheapest price the hotel usually charged was $1,400 a night.Jas told her followers that by the end of their conversation, the owner seemed OK and said he'd "take an L on this." In the video, she shares a photo of the property with a large pool and resort-style building in the background. <h2>Jas noticed the first red flag on the way to the property</h2>Jas said the first "red flag" she noticed was on the way to the villa, when she realized the property was labeled a "hostel" on Google Maps. She was also confused when she saw a "till," or cash register, in the kitchen.Jas said the owner told her more guests would join since she booked "a special rate."Jas objected to the owner. "I just booked it. No one explained that there was going be other people staying here," she said in the video."'I understand I can't use all the bedrooms. That's fine,' but I was like, 'There's no way I'm staying here with my family if other people are going to be staying here,'" Jas continued, recounting her conversation with the owner. "It's a huge fucking villa but a small hotel," she added.Jas said the owner understood her concern and canceled the other guests' reservations. "So basically, there are seven of us, me and my family. I think there's like 12 bedrooms. I think it sleeps like 18 people. There's like a full-time bartender, a kitchen, a chef, like an actual restaurant in the fucking thing, and it's literally just me and my family here," Jas said at the end of the video. <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@jxx/video/7257458765321096474" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In a follow-up TikTok a day later,</a> Jas gave viewers a closer look at the property, which, according to her, has "full-time security." Jas starts the tour by showing the pool and outdoor area, which includes lounge chairs and a Ping-Pong table. She then pans to a living room with a rectangular blue sofa surrounding a firepit. Another portion of the video shows a pool table, a vast kitchen area, and a table that fits "20 people."The rooms on the property appear only accessible from the outside, like in a hotel, and require a key card for entry. Jas said the rooms on both the upper and lower levels are "small" and similar to hotel rooms."I think you can see what I mean now. Its like definitely got the capabilities of being a hotel but it's a small hotel. Huge Airbnb, but a very small hotel," Jas said at the end of the video. <h2>In total, Jas' vacation cost over $5,200</h2>In a third TikTok about her booking posted Sunday, Jas broke down the price of her Bali vacation. Jas said her family took affordable day excursions and only ate at a fancy restaurant once, paying "200 quid" for all seven people, which according to her, "was still really cheap." For most of her stay, Jas' family ate at the villa or restaurant beside it. She said she got day passes to a gym several times, which cost £10 for each visit.Jas said her family's entire trip cost £4,100, which is about $5,270.
