<ul><li>The Indian wearable market has declined for the second consecutive quarter.</li><li>The smartwatch segment has recorded a huge decline in shipments in Q3 2024.</li><li>The earwear segment has also declined, while the smart ring segment remains strong.</li></ul>The <keyword id="22725790" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-wearables-market" source="keywords">Indian wearables market</keyword> has declined for the second consecutive quarter, recording a 20.7% year-on-year decline in shipments in Q3 2024. There was a 10% decline in shipments in Q2 2024. According to a report by the International Data Corporation, 38 million devices were shipped in the country’s wearables market in Q3 2024. The decline is being attributed to a reduction in new product launches and a cautious inventory strategy. <h2>Smartwatch shipments decline</h2>The smartwatch category recorded a decline of 44.8% as shipments declined from 16.92 million devices in Q3 2023 to 9.34 million in Q3 2024. Not just the basic smartwatches, the shipments of premium smartwatches also declined by 39.9% year-on-year. The Smartwatch average selling price (ASP) however increased by 1.4% from $25.8 to $26.2. The wristband category, which remained strong in Q2 has also declined in Q3, recording a 48.4% year-on-year decline in shipments. The earwear category also struggled, with a 7.5% decline in shipments from 30.29 million in Q3 2023 to 28.52 in Q3 2024. <h2>The smart ring category continues to shine</h2>The smart ring market has remained strong, with 92 thousand smart rings shipped in Q3 2024. The quarter also recorded a decline in the average selling price of 16.2% to $162.1. Ultrahuman continues to lead the smart ring category in India with a 36.8% market share, boAt comes in second with a 20.5% share and Pi Ring is third with a 16.3% market share. <h2>Smartwatch market dominate the Indian smartwatch market with a 27.4% market share in Q3 2024, up from a 20.7% market share in Q3 2023. boAt comes in second with a 16.7% market share, up from a 14.2% market share in Q3 undifferentiated products and a limited number of brands in play. Indian wearables market declines 20.7% in Q3 2024, smartwatch and earwear categories struggle

market</h2>Vivo has emerged as the market leader in Q3 2024, with a 15.8% market share, up from a 13.9% market share in Q3 2023. This marks the third consecutive quarter where the smartphone maker has led the Indian smartphone market. Vivo’s shipments have increased by 20% year-on-year. Oppo is second, with a 13.9% market share in Q3 2024, up from a 9.9% market share in Q3 2023. The company’s shipments have increased by 47.6% year-on-year. Samsung, which led the Indian smartphone market in Q3 2023 with a market share of 16.2% has been pushed down to the third spot with a 12.3% market share. The company’s shipments have declined by 19.7% year-on-year. Other notable changes include the increase in Apple’s market share from 5.7% to 8.2%, a decline in OnePlus’ market share from 6.2% to 3.6% and a 149% year-on-year increase in shipments recorded by Motorola. <h2>5G shipments on the rise</h2>The share of 5G shipments increased to 83% in Q3 2024, up from 57% in Q3 2023. Of the 46 million smartphones shipped, 38 million were 5G smartphones. This has been fueled by the decline in the average selling price (ASP) of 5G smartphones. The ASP has by 20% to $292 (approx. ₹24,650). “Cyclical dip in demand after the festive period and high shipments in 3Q24 will result in higher stock levels across channels in 4Q24. Thus, India's smartphone market is expected to exit 2024 with a low single-digit annual growth,” said Navkendar Singh, AVP – Devices Research, IDC. Indian smartphone shipments grow 5.6% in Q3 2024, Vivo leads the market

Acer was able to boost its market share at the back of education projects, which helped boost its share in the commercial segment to 35.5%. The company was able to take its market share in overall tablet shipments to 23.6% in Q2 2024. Apple recorded a market share of 9.5% in Q2 2024, with its growth in the consumer segment driven by new product launches and price cuts for older products. Lenovo and Xiaomi take the fourth and fifth positions respectively. While Lenovo recorded a market share of 6.9%, Xiaomi recorded a market share of 4.7%. Indian tablet market records good growth in Q2 2024, 1 in 2 tablets sold was from Samsung

<ul><li>The Indian PC market recorded its second-best quarter with a shipment of 4.49 million devices in Q3 2024.</li><li>The growth in part is due to the online festival sales by e-commerce giants and retailers.</li><li>HP continues to lead the Indian PC market with a share of over 29%.</li></ul> The Indian personal computer or PC market has recorded its second highest-ever shipments at 4.49 million devices in Q3 2024, recording a 0.1% growth year-on-year. According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), the growth in sales was recorded due to online festival sales which began early this year. “The e-tail sales, which typically start around the second week of October, began in late September, leading to a surge in PC shipments,” said Bharath Shenoy, Research Manager, IDC India &amp; South Asia. In Q3 2024, desktops recorded an 8.1% year-on-year decline, notebooks recorded a 2.8% year-on-year growth and workstations recorded a 2.4% year-on-year growth. Premium notebooks priced above $1,000 recorded a 7.6% year-on-year growth. “Brands capitalized on e-tail sales by offering steep discounts, cashback, and bundled accessories. Many of them also matched similar pricing in their brand stores and offline channels like Larger Format Retail stores (LFRs), leading to the second biggest consumer quarter in history,” Shenoy added. India’s PC market reaches new high with 4.49 million shipments in Q3 2024

Total income increased to Rs 85,500 crore during the quarter under review against Rs 78,406 crore in the same period last year, HDFC Bank said in a regulatory filing. The bank reported <keyword id="20202322" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="interest-income" source="keywords">interest income</keyword> of Rs 74,017 crore during the quarter compared to Rs 67,698 crore in the same period a year ago. Net Interest Income (NII) improved to Rs 30,110 crore, from Rs 27,390 crore in the second quarter of previous year, registering a 10 per cent growth. As regards asset quality, the bank witnessed slight deterioration with gross <keyword id="19927319" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Non-Performing-Assets" source="keywords">Non-Performing Assets</keyword> (NPAs) rising to 1.36 per cent of the gross loans by the end of September 2024 from 1.34 per cent a year ago. While it looks excellent indoors, it does struggle a bit when you take it outdoors in direct sunlight. There was no stuttering or lag, despite many applications and tabs open at once. The laptop’s cooling system also works well and I did not notice any abnormal heating. The HP EliteBook G1q comes with the Windows CoPilot+, alongside HP’s AI Companion app. The app can be used to streamline daily tasks, helping boost productivity. The app offers AI-powered features such as auto-framing and panning, keeping you in centre during calls. It also offers various enhancement options using AI, including the ability to reduce echoes. The laptop is equipped with a 59 Whr battery and offers a decent battery life, allowing you to get around 8 hours of usage. It supports 65W charging, allowing you to quickly charge the device. <h2>Verdict</h2>The HP EliteBook G1q is a feature-packed device designed for professionals looking for a sleek and powerful laptop. The device ticks all the right boxes, including a good design, powerful hardware and a lightweight form factor. At the end of the day, price does come into play and the EliteBook G1q is priced on the higher side. If you are looking to get a premium device and don’t mind the price, the EliteBook G1q is a great option. Notably, <keyword id="20704187" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="5G-smartphones" source="keywords">5G smartphones</keyword> captured their highest-ever share of 77% in the overall shipments, according to Counterpoint's Monthly India Smartphone Tracker. Another key takeaway was that India's smartphone market hit its highest ever Q2 value, driven by the ongoing trend of premiumisation."India's smartphone shipments fell 2% YoY in <keyword id="22245015" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Q2-2024" source="keywords">Q2 2024</keyword> (April-June)," it said. The decline was influenced by a heatwave, a seasonal slump, and slower demand from Q1 2024."In response, <keyword id="20018736" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="OEMs" source="keywords">OEMs</keyword> (Original Equipment Manufacturers) hosted sales events in Q2 to clear inventory, leading to a reduced sell-in and a period of degrowth," it said. On the market's volume dynamics, Senior Research Analyst Shilpi Jain explained that heatwave conditions in various regions led to lower footfalls in offline channels and delayed smartphone purchases as consumers prioritised appliances like air-conditioners and refrigerators. This reduced demand led to an inventory build-up. However, summer sales at online channels, good harvest and aggressive promotions towards the end of the quarter provided relief to OEMs, helping close the quarter on a better note than at the beginning. "During the quarter, Xiaomi reclaimed the top spot with a 23% YoY growth in its shipments, driven by a streamlined and focused portfolio that spans from the entry-level to affordable premium segments," Counterpoint said. Xiaomi reclaimed the top spot with an 18.9% shipment share, and Vivo followed closely with 18.8% share. On value dynamics, Research Analyst Shubham Singh said "In Q2 2024, India's smartphone market achieved its highest ever Q2 value, driven by the ongoing trend of premiumisation." Consumers continued to upgrade to higher-value smartphones, supported by better trade-in values and easy financing schemes. This resulted in a 24% YoY growth in the ultra-premium (over Rs 45,000) segment. Samsung led the market in terms of value with a 25% share, followed by Vivo and <keyword id="19894961" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Apple" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Apple" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Apple">Apple</keyword>. "Meanwhile, Apple ranked third in value terms. But it is expected to rebound in the next quarter, driven by the recent price cuts across the entire range of iPhones," Singh said.

The streamer released its second quarter earnings for 2024 on Thursday and <keyword id="1943179" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-content" source="Orion">Indian content</keyword> seems to have made significant strides this year alongside popular international shows such as "Bridgerton 3", "Baby Reindeer", Korean drama "Queen of Tears" and films such as "Hit Man" and "Under Paris". India and the UK have had especially strong slates this year, according to the streamer. In Q2, India was the second and third country in terms of paid net adds and revenue per cent growth, respectively, due to the success of titles like Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar", which had 15 million views to become the streamer's biggest Indian drama series ever. Imtiaz Ali-directed biopic "Amar Singh Chamkila" with 8.3 million views was another major title for Netflix, which also registered success with licensed films such as Kiran Rao's "Laapataa Ladies" and Ajay Devgn-starrer horror drama "Shaitaan". From the UK, "Baby Reindeer", which has earned 11 Emmy nominations, emerged as the big hit with 88.4 million views. "The Gentlemen", "One Day" and "Fool Me Once" also spent multiple weeks on the streamer's global TV top 10 list. The upcoming line-up for India in 2024 includes non-fiction content such as "Modern Masters feat. SS Rajamouli", "Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale" and "Yo Yo Honey Singh". In the fiction space, most anticipated returning titles are "Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein" season two, "Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba", "The Great Indian Kapil Show S2", the third season of "Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives". Anubhav Sinha's gripping drama "IC814: The Kandahar Hijack", "Do Patti" and "Vijay 69" are some of the other projects from India to come out on the streamer this year.
