Security agencies will be deploying artificial intelligence-based security systems with enhanced <keyword id="22713904" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="surveillance-features" source="keywords">surveillance features</keyword> and automated crowd estimation facilities at and around <keyword id="20283480" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Red-Fort" source="keywords">Red Fort</keyword> on the upcoming Independence Day, sources said.<br /><br />A document accessed by the reveals that CCTVs having video analytics features will be deployed at important locations at the venue. The intelligence video surveillance system will have features like a vehicle number plate recognition system, face detection, people movement counting, tripwire, audio detection, intrusion, defocus, and abandoned or missing objects.<br /><br />"We will also be using AI-armed cameras to count the entry and exit of people inside the premises. The estimation of the crowd will be done through AI," an official added.<br /><br />The cameras, said the official, will have the capability of detecting abandoned baggage in public places. Intrusion detection features will be the security of high risk. Different zone-based alarms can be set as per priority and sensitivity of each zone.<br /><br />The advanced FRS facility will be in recognition of faces on live cameras as well as on recorded videos. Detect any matches with faces on the "Watch List" database and provide alerts to the control room. Detecting multiple faces from group images and searching for similar faces from a single camera or across multiple cameras. An enrolled person can be searched by names or similar faces and also search via. unknown faces using a single image or group photo.<br /><br />Divulging further details on the new changes, a senior government official informed that they have been using a <keyword id="20903661" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="facial-recognition-system" source="keywords">facial recognition system</keyword> for the past several years but this year they will be deploying Number Plate Recognition (NPR) that will have vehicle plate detection based on real-time 24x7 video processing. It will immediately video record and snapshot each vehicle or violated vehicle. Security forces to deploy AI-based security systems at Red Fort on Independence Day

“I started <keyword id="20024281" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="investing" source="keywords">investing</keyword> when I was 24, and had just taken up my first job. At first, it felt like a herculean task, setting aside Rs 15,000 every month for long-term investing. But now, at 29, I have a comfortable corpus with me, and I am able to even fund my sister’s education. I now realise how investing is the first step towards achieving some level of financial independence”. <br /><br />That was Yumna, a 29-year-old Delhi-based communication professional’s “tryst with her finances”. Tomorrow, India will celebrate its “tryst with destiny”, its 78th day of independence from Britishers. And so, it is certainly the right time to revisit our personal journeys towards independence, at least financially.<br /><br />If we heavily rely on our monthly salaries, being broke towards the end of the month, and desperately waiting for that end-of-the-month fund credit “ting”, then are we really independent? So, this Independence Day, consider gifting yourself (and your friends and loved ones) these five presents that promise you financial freedom.<br /><br /><h2>Start SIP-ing in Mutual Funds, stocks</h2>The British ruled India for almost 200 years, starting from the battle of Plassey in 1757, to when India finally ousted the British Raj in 1947. Nearly 200 years of tireless persistence, struggle and revolution was what it took to achieve freedom. Plus, having term insurance can also help you save on taxes (an annual premium paid of up to Rs 25,000 for those aged less than 60 is tax-free under old tax regime), apart from saving you during medical emergencies. <br /><br />Says Sabyasachi Sarkar, Appointed Actuary, Go Digit Life Insurance, “a life insurance plan is a tool that provides a safety net for your family in case of unexpected events and for your need of savings or pension. Ideally one should take a term life cover that is at least 10-15 times your annual income. Moreover, when picking a life insurance company, consider factors like the claim settlement ratio, returns etc”.<br /><br />Once you’ve insured your life, it's time to safeguard your health as well, with a solid health insurance policy. As Vivek Chaturvedi, CMO and Head of Direct Sales at Go Digit General Insurance notes, “Ensure the plan that you are picking does not come with any cap on the choice of room or ICU as this may impact your overall hospitalization bill. Second, make sure your policy provides a sum insured backup or reinstatement benefit.” <br /><br />Also, check for the pre- and post-hospitalization benefits in your health coverage. Ensure that expenses like diagnostic tests, doctor’s fees, medical check-ups, etc. that you might have to incur before you get hospitalized or after you are discharged are covered. A good plan should provide at least 60/90 days of pre- and post-hospitalization coverage. And lastly, check the coverage for organ donor expenses. While it is a low-probability event, any organ transplant is an expensive affair. This ensures such costs are covered by the insurer.<br /><br /><h2>Save for a rainy day</h2>“It can’t happen to us until it does”. When you are flooded with a daily deluge of news about accidents, deaths, fires, train wrecks and more, it’s easy to disassociate and think “Oh, this won’t happen to me”. But remember, this is not to be broken into for funding those impromptu vacations!<br /><br /><h2>Upskill, Upskill</h2>Earning money is hard, but still easier than effectively managing it. Most of us run away from managing and investing our own hard-earned money because it sounds difficult and looks too complicated and jargon-y.<br />This Independence Day, gift yourself a basic course on <keyword id="20762784" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="money-management" source="keywords">money management</keyword>, budgeting and investing. Write and track how much you earn and spend on a monthly basis, so that you’re more in charge of your funds, and not looking (hopefully!), at maxed-out credit cards and empty wallets at the end of the month. <br /><br /><h2>Be free of anything that looks easy money</h2>These days, it’s super easy to get credit, a personal loan, and buy your favourite gadget, or your latest fascination via <keyword id="19985897" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="BNPL" source="keywords">BNPL</keyword> (Buy Now Pay Later). And in the short run, it can be incredibly satisfying as well. But then, when you get your monthly statements, and find a never-ending stream of interest charges, and penalties, which eventually pull you into a spiral of debt trap. If something looks too good to be true, it might really just be too good to be true. BNPL and instant credit are very much like that. <br /><br />So, the next time you want to buy something expensive, hold that thought for at least 48 hours, before revisiting it. Most of the time, you’ll find you don't even desire it anymore. Five gifts you can give to yourself, friends, or family, towards achieving financial independence

<ul class="summary-list"><li>I decided to live alone in college because I wanted independence and control over my living space.</li><li>Living alone as a college student taught me how to be independent and build community.</li></ul><p>I never wanted to live alone as a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/college-student-studying-abroad-classmates-taking-luxury-trips-2024-4">college student</a>. I have always been a social butterfly who enjoys spending time with friends, so living alone sounded isolating. But after three years in college, that's exactly what I did.</p><p>I started college in 2019, sharing a dorm room with a roommate — and a living room and bathroom with a suite mate — at Central Michigan University. However, when the pandemic moved classes online in the middle of my <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/life-skills-crash-course-child-survive-freshman-year-college-2024-1">freshman year</a>, I moved back in with my parents to attend a local community college.</p><p>Moving home gave me <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/investing/financial-independence-retire-early">financial freedom</a> to pursue career opportunities that I otherwise couldn't do with a monthly rent bill, but I missed the independence of moving out.</p><p>Two years later, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/saved-money-by-going-community-college-first-2023-10">I transferred</a> to Wayne State University in Detroit. Even though the campus was about 40 minutes from home, I knew this was the perfect time to get a place of my own.</p><p>I felt intimidated about moving to a big city alone, but my desire for control over my living space overrode the anticipated challenges. After finding a surprisingly spacious studio within my price range, I signed a lease and <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/new-yorker-tours-apartments-detroit-2021-7">moved to Detroit</a> — on my own.</p><h2 id="29ade9f0-a306-4d6b-a880-fb03c3fa1d5b"><strong>Living alone helped me become more independent and resourceful</strong></h2><p>The first months were an adjustment. I didn't know what to do with the abundance of <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/loneliness-making-friends-companionship-time-alone-2024-6">alone time</a>. But as time progressed, I grew to love it.</p><p>I could come and go as I pleased without disturbing roommates. The privacy was great for working and attending remote therapy. My newfound control over my space was freeing. Most importantly, I did not need to worry about bothering <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/i-live-with-roommates-as-adult-perks-outweigh-embarrassment-2024-4">a roommate</a> if my space was not clean.</p><p>Before moving out, I was scared to do things alone. My fear of strangers judging me for sitting by myself at a restaurant or a concert kept me from doing many things. But <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/millennial-afford-live-alone-roommate-loneliness-2024-8">living alone</a> pushed me to attend those events by myself. I didn't have a roommate I could do things with, and friends weren't always available. I grew to like doing things by myself — like sitting at a bar or concert alone and chatting with strangers.</p><p>This opened opportunities to develop new hobbies. I sought out community events that interested me, attended cooking classes, and volunteered at a community garden. Doing fun things is no longer contingent on whether a friend is available to join me.</p><p>This didn't mean I isolated myself. I formed a building group chat and organized tenant meetings to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/influencers-in-person-events-build-communities-make-money-2024-9">build community</a> with fellow neighbors and share resources. I quickly befriended several neighbors, which helped me feel more connected to the people around me.</p><h2 id="b6cfedb0-b561-4558-9768-dd98b1a44d7d"><strong>But I'm now moving in with a roommate for my last year of college</strong></h2><p>I loved living alone, but it isn't for everyone. Taking full responsibility for paying rent and utilities got expensive.</p><p>Handling full time work is difficult as a student taking demanding course loads, so I juggled a mix of <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/recession-outlook-job-market-unemployment-benefits-part-time-workers-economy-2024-9">part-time employment</a> and freelance writing to make ends meet.</p><p>Some months, I hardly made rent. I'm grateful that <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/parenting-style-break-generational-curses-raise-child-parents-2023-8">my parents</a> helped me with certain bills and fronted me when a check wouldn't come in time — a major reason I could live alone in the first place.</p><p>I was already <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tech-workers-nyc-wages-earnings-cant-afford-most-apartments-rent-2024-5">struggling to pay rent</a>, and this year's lease renewal came with a $50 increase. I had to make a tough decision: Do I want to spend my last year in college working harder than ever to pay rent?<strong> </strong>Was it worth living alone if it meant working myself into the ground to afford it?</p><p>In two months, I'm moving into an apartment with my friend that is closer to campus and almost $200 less in rent. I can take advantage of biking and transit infrastructure instead of driving to campus every day. <ul class="summary-list"><li>My great-aunt just turned 96 years old. </li><li>In 2020 she contracted COVID and spent 26 days in the hospital. </li></ul><p><span>Martin Luther King, Jr. once said: "The quality, not the longevity, of one's life is what is important." But at 96 years old, my great aunt Mary Selby Ferrari is living proof that you can have both — a long and full life.</span></p><p><span>Ferrari is nothing if not resilient. She </span><a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-testing-positive-covid-19-changed-from-2020-2021-2021-12"><span>contracted COVID-19</span></a><span> in April 2020 — during the particularly fraught early stages of the pandemic — and while she spent 26 days in the hospital, some of which she was only semi-conscious, she survived the illness unscathed. Ferrari's husband and most of her lifelong friends died years ago. Meanwhile, Ferrari still lives on her own in the independent living section of a retirement community. She drove her own car until she was 80 years old.</span></p><p><span>"I'm enjoying life," she told me. I have a pleasant little apartment, and my daughter lives nearby."</span></p><h2 id="d91ae2a8-fd81-4ec7-991b-6ef03e7c2af4"><span>Being a perpetual student has given her purpose</span></h2><p><span>Ferrari graduated from The College of New Rochelle (which has since closed) with a degree in English in 1950 — a time when very few women were pursuing undergraduate degrees. Later, she went on to receive not one but two graduate degrees.</span></p><p><span>Growing up, I always looked to my great aunt as a shining example of what it means to have</span><em><span> </span></em><span>a purpose, but not until recently did I consider that maybe this purpose is precisely why she continues to thrive today. </span>Studies have shown that people who can articulate their sense of purpose can live up to seven years longer than those who can't and, moreover, have a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK298903/">15% lower risk of dying</a>.</p><h2 id="3b57158e-ce17-4f01-bc60-d9eed63fe829"><span>Having a creative outlet is crucial</span></h2><p><span>Ferrari began writing poetry at summer camp around age 10. It wasn't until the 1960s that she became more seriously dedicated to her poetry, but it didn't take long for her work to get noticed. </span></p><div type="image" title="Woman posing with books" height="3024" width="4032" msid="112402870" hostid="261" sizebytes="608962"></div><p>By engaging your mind, creative hobbies double as mindfulness exercises — not to mention bring a lot of joy and happiness and even help with <a target="_blank" href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17351987/">relieving stress and processing trauma</a>.<span> </span></p><h2 id="a9ea9628-d6e1-4a3d-9700-b4f131171ae3"><span>Whole, nutrient-dense foods like fish and fruit are her diet staples</span></h2><p><span>There's no denying that diet plays a massive role in longevity — and research has shown that the </span><a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-my-family-followed-mediterranean-diet-for-years-best-tips"><span>Mediterranean diet</span></a><span> reduces your risk of cardiovascular disease. </span></p><p><span>While Ferrari doesn't follow a specific diet, she enjoys lots of fish and fresh fruit and vegetables, all of which align with the principles of the Mediterranean-style eating pattern.</span></p><p><span>"I don't eat as many sweets as I'd like to," she told me with a laugh. After her doctor told her she was "borderline diabetic," she "lost her taste" for sweets.</span></p><p><span>But she still enjoys eating out at restaurants with her children and grandchildren, preferring to focus on whole foods that are rich in essential nutrients.</span></p><h2 id="30d4e813-5266-4e8c-b410-058f66c6ea5b"><span>Her faith keeps her grounded</span></h2><p><span>When Ferrari expressed interest in attending college, her mother — my great-grandmother — had one condition: It had to be a Catholic school.</span></p><p><span>"I </span><a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/why-atheist-goes-to-church-2018-8"><span>was an atheist</span></a><span> at the time," she told me.</span></p><p><span>But Ferrari was so determined to pursue an undergraduate education that she agreed to study at The College of New Rochelle. Before long, her interest in Christianity blossomed. To this day, she still attends Sunday mass with her daughter and prays nightly.</span></p><p><span>Longevity researcher Dan Buettner, who's largely known as the world's Blue Zone expert, found that </span><a target="_blank" href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK298903/"><span>one thing many centenarians have in common</span></a><span> is that they have a strong religious faith and belong to a faith-based community — a factor that increases their lifespan by four to 14 years.</span></p><h2 id="83f8b76b-9b4d-41dd-947e-a345a5dd4c16"><span>She hasn't stopped moving</span></h2><p><span>At 91, Ferrari had a total left hip replacement surgery. But that hasn't stopped her from keeping it moving. She enjoys going for walks — sometimes outside when the weather permits — and still participates in physical therapy twice a week. <ul class="summary-list"><li>Russian President Vladimir Putin has started wearing body armor when out at outdoor public events.</li><li>Officials told The Moscow Times that Putin's security team had recommended the measure.</li></ul><p><a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/putin-europe-face-serious-consequences-ukraine-strikes-russia-2024-5">Russian leader Vladimir Putin</a> has started wearing body armor at outdoor public events, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2024/06/04/bulletproof-vests-on-red-square-kremlin-secretly-beefs-up-putins-personal-security-a85303">The Moscow Times</a> reported on Tuesday, citing officials who had seen Putin at these events.</p><p>"This year on May 9, the chief was clearly wearing concealed body armor during the parade," an official said of Putin's appearance at this year's <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/russias-red-square-military-parade-again-had-only-one-tank-2024-5">Moscow Victory Day parade</a>. "And that precaution, I think, is necessary."</p><p>Putin, who <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-vladimir-putin-presidential-election-vote-landslide-win-2024-3">won his fifth term as Russia's president</a> in March, was seen greeting generals at the annual military parade in a live broadcast on May 9. The 71-year-old's movements in the video looked rigid, and Putin was seen adjusting his clothing around his right shoulder several times. </p><p>"Putin's upper body frame looks unnatural and his shoulders appear rather wide and square, showing no shape of the back and shoulder blades," security consultant Jade Miller told The Moscow Times.</p><p>"In my professional opinion, Putin is wearing some form of ballistic protection during his time attending the parade," she said.</p><p>Putin started donning a bulletproof vest in 2023, according to the Russian newspaper. Officials told The Moscow Times that Putin's security team, the Presidential Security Service, had recommended this arrangement.</p><p>"God protects the cautious," said another official.</p><p>Representatives for the Russian foreign ministry didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider sent outside regular business hours.</p><p>This isn't the first time reports have emerged about Putin's <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/putin-survived-attempt-on-his-life-ukraine-intelligence-official-2022-5">fears of </a><a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/putin-terrified-assassinated-refusing-to-travel-drone-strike-reports-russia-2023-6">getting assassinated</a>.</p><p>In September, Putin's former security officer, Vitaly Brizhaty, said in an interview with independent Russian outlet TV Rain that Putin once <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/putin-paranoid-armed-divers-assassins-russia-crimea-2023-9">hired armed divers to look for potential assassins along his private beach</a>.</p><p>Brizhaty, who <a target="_blank" href="https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-guard-putin-flees-ecuador/32586511.html">defected to Ecuador after Russia invaded Ukraine</a>, said that Putin was so paranoid that he didn't allow anyone but one of his bodyguards to operate his washing machine. </p><p>But Putin might not even fully trust his bodyguards, per Brizhaty, who said the Russian leader often gave his own security service bogus information about his whereabouts. </p><p>"This is how much he fears for his life," Brizhaty said.</p>

This is after the <keyword id="19922618" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="UK" source="keywords">UK</keyword> government indicated that she may not get legal protection against any possible probe into the massive violent protests in her country, they said. <br /><br /> The Awami League leader planned to travel to London through India and her aides informed Indian authorities about it before she landed in Hindon, the people cited above said. <br /><br /> Hasina decided to travel to London as Rehana's daughter Tulip Siddiq is a member of the British Parliament. Tulip is economic secretary to the Treasury and Labour MP for Hampstead and Highgate. <br /><br /> In a statement, British foreign secretary David Lammy said in London on Monday that Bangladesh has seen unprecedented levels of violence and tragic loss of life in the last two weeks and people of the country "deserve a full and independent UN-led investigation into the events". <br /><br />The people in the know said Hasina has apprised New Delhi about her possible future steps. It is also learnt that Hasina has family members in Finland as well and that is why she also contemplated leaving for the northern European country. <br /><br /> While saying that Hasina's travel plans have hit certain issues and she may stay in the country for the next couple of days, the people also described the situation as dynamic with no definitive path or clarity on the matter. <br /><br /> The 76-year-old who ruled the South Asian country with an iron fist for 15 years, resigned as the prime minister following the massive protests that initially began as an agitation against a job quota scheme but weeks later morphed into a mass movement demanding her ouster from power. <br /><br /> The controversial quota system provided for 30 per cent reservations in civil services jobs for the families of veterans who fought the 1971 liberation war. <br /><br /> Hasina's Awami League retained power in the parliamentary election in January that was boycotted by the opposition parties. <br /><br /> The former Bangladesh prime minister left her official residence Ganabhavan in a military chopper to an airbase, the sources said.
