US President Donald Trump had accused Iran for the attacks and threatened it of consequences. Security Operations The Indian Navy has deployed a destroyer INS Chennai, and a patrol vessel INS Sunanya in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. In a press release, the Navy said that two advisories were issued by DG Shipping on June 13 and June 16 to all Indian Flagged Vessels operating in the Strait of Hormuz, Persian and the Arabian Gulf region to undertake appropriate protection measures.  As per the news reports, Flextronics will assemble the phones of Huawei at their assembly plant in Chennai. Flextronics is already assembling phones for <keyword id="13722" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lenovo">Lenovo</keyword> and <keyword id="11148" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Motorola">Motorola</keyword> there. 
 "Huawei may begin with a capacity of 200,000 units a month, but it can scale up rapidly as the plant has enough capacity to take on more orders," one of the persons aware of the development told the <keyword id="6474066" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="economic-times">Economic Times</keyword> on condition of anonymity. The company may start with some of its latest models such as Honor 5C or Huawei P9, even as it may make multiple models at the facility, the person added.

Meanwhile, security at the Puducherry coast has also increased as Puducherry Senior Superintendent of Police, Kalaivanan visited the beaches and the coastal roads in the region and inspected them for preparedness. The authorities have advised the public to not visit beaches in Puducherry as well as in Tamil Nadu's Chennai, including Marina Beach, Pattinapakkam and Edward Elliot Beach. The tourist spots in Puducherry have been closed as a precautionary measure, owing to the impending cyclone Fengal. <keyword id="24240138" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Puducherry-police" source="keywords">Puducherry Police</keyword> in a post on X advised citizens, "In view of Cyclone Fengal, we urge you to exercise extreme caution and avoid visiting beaches and coastal areas" The SSP said that 300 police personnel have been deployed on various coastal roads and beaches. "For the last four days, we have been deploying police personnel along the beaches and apart from that we are also informing the fishermen and people living in the low-lying areas to be careful. Fishermen are not venturing into the sea. Since last night, we have closed all beaches. We have deployed nearly 300 personnel across all the beaches of Puducherry and we are coordinating with the NDRF also," the SSP said. The coastal areas of Puducherry witnessed rough sea and gusty winds on Saturday morning due to the impact of the cyclone. Puducherry received moderate rain, as per IMD, in the morning today but the rough sea was seen more than usual.

Cyclone Fengal: Chennai airport shut till 7 PM

The central board of secondary education (CBSE) has announced the results for class 10 today. Earlier today, ANI had reported that CBSE will release the results at 3 pm but it came out at 02:24 pm instead leaving many surprised. The pass percentage stands at 91.1% with Trivandrum recording the highest pass percentage at 99.85%, Chennai at 99% and Ajmer at 95.89%. Trivandrum had topped the list last year as well with 97.32% followed by Chennai with 93.87% and Delhi with 89%. The pass percentage for Delhi has dropped this year by 8% to 80.97%.

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Airport officials in India found 22 snakes and a chameleon in the luggage of a woman last week.</li><li>The woman, who was not named, attempted to smuggle the animals in plastic containers, they said. </li></ul>A woman snuck more than 20 snakes and a chameleon onto a plane by packing them in her check-in luggage before being caught in India, airport officials said last week.The woman, who was not named, had landed at Chennai Airport from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on April 28, Chennai Customs <a href="https://twitter.com/cbic_india/status/1652687033788399616?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted.</a>"On examination of check-in baggage, 22 Snakes of various species &amp; a Chameleon were found," airport officials tweeted, alongside several videos of the animals seized at the airport. The videos show snakes of different sizes slithering around on the airport floor and on airport trolleys. Some were filmed curled up in large plastic containers. It is unclear whether the woman was arrested. Chennai Customs did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. India is a big hub for smugglers trafficking exotic animals to other countries, Atul Bagai, Head of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in India, <a href="https://www.unep.org/news-and-stories/story/new-initiative-combats-wildlife-trafficking-indias-airports" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said in a 2020 report.</a>"India is among the top ten countries in terms of using the airline sector for wildlife trafficking, this is an unwanted accolade," Bagai said.In 1972, the government enacted the Wildlife Protection Act, which protects plants and animal species.

Waterlogged streets, shut power grids, a submerged airport, flooded houses, no transport, food or electricity have become a way of life for the people residing in Chennai, some of whom have also faced the fury of these unprecedented rains when they were left stranded sans transport or any help. 
 
Even as the MeT department predicted that the incessant rains are to last for four more days, the residents of the city are of the belief that Chennai will pull through as it always had. 
 
None of this however was enough for the national media to consider the floods as an important topic to be highlighted in its various mediums- be it newspapers or TV channels. Chennai barely found a mention in either of these places and the people of the city were ultimately left to fend for themselves. 
 
Chennai’s iconic newspaper The Hindu also became a victim to the vagaries of the rains when the paper was not printed for the first time in 137 years. 
 
According to the publisher, N. Murali, the employees were unable to make it to the printing press which is located 30 kms away from the city. 
At such a time of crisis, social media turned out to be the biggest saviours, which people from all over the country and the city co-operating to help out each other in whatever way they could. 
 
Actor Siddharth, best known for his role in Rang De Basanti have been one of the few people who were very active on Twitter highlighting helpline numbers, the grim situation due to the rains and arranging for food and rescue. 
 
Superstar Rajnikanth and his son-in law Dhanush weren’t far behind, either donating Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively towards the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.

Both small and big developers are foc<keyword id="6354458" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="US">us</keyword>ing the NRI base in the US, <keyword id="6354868" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="UK">UK</keyword> and Asia Pacific Region this year. ” 
	 According to the findings of the survey, NRI property buyers have shown inclination towards high-end residential and commercial properties in the country. A large number of enquiries are coming from Indians residing primarily in the Middle East, the US, <keyword id="6356662" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Singapore">Singapore</keyword>, Australia, UK, Canada and South Africa. 
	 
	In terms of the most preferred city, Bangalore has topped the charts followed by Ahmedabad, Pune, Goa and Chennai. Surprisingly, Delhi is among the least preferred real estate markets. 
	 
	“Bangalore tops in terms of investment from Non Resident Indians (NRIs) who are considering settling down in India in coming years. The major factors that drive NRIs to invest in Bangalore’s property market is the booming IT sector. On the other hand, Ahmedabad has continued to be the most stable market in terms of demand and absorption of both residential and commercial spaces. NRI’s consider Ahemdabad as a safe place to invest in, with lenient government regulations regarding property investments by NRIs. While Pune takes the 3rd place with 30.5%, Chennai at 28% per cent assumes 4th position and Goa is at 5th position with 23%. While in Delhi, only 21% NRIs are interested in property purchase,” the study disclosed. 
	 
	In order to woo the cash-rich NRI clientele, real estate players have not only organised property shows and exhibitions, but have also expanded their existing distribution chains and entering into strategic partnerships to encourage investments in the Indian property market.
