With an aim to place <keyword id="6354552" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="hyderabad">Hyderabad</keyword> on the list of top 10 startup destinations in the world, T-Hub, India’s largest incubator for <keyword id="6362513" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Startups">startups</keyword> announced five strategic initiatives aimed to help startups get the exposure and funding they need. 
 T-Hub, which celebrated its first year anniversary today is a public-private partnership between the Government of <keyword id="68884" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Telangana">Telangana</keyword>, three of India’s leading academic institutes namely, IIIT-H, ISB, NALSAR and the private sector. 
 The anniversary celebrations saw <keyword id="3838906" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Srinivas-Kollipara">Srinivas Kollipara</keyword>, COO and <keyword id="210411" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jay-Krishnan">Jay Krishnan</keyword>, CEO of T-Hub reveal the key initiatives for the next year in the presence of Telangana IT Minister, KT Rama Rao. 
 
Apart from T-hub rolling out the second phase of its facility which is spread over 3,50,000 square feet by mid-2018 and and launching an exclusive fund for startups soon, the startup engine announced these partnerships: 
 
PwC Innovation Hub Partnership 
In a first for the country, T-Hub has partnered with PwC, one of the leading consulting firms in the world to create an innovation hub. This partnership is aligned with PwC’s innovation program to support and mentor startups. The startups on the other hand, will have access to PwC clients across 157 countries, which will help open floodgates for new opportunities. 
 
Carnegie’s Policy Hub 
T-Hub has partnered with Carnegie Endowment for Intrenational Peace, India, a public-policy think-tank to create a one-of-a-kind ‘Policy Incubator’ to help startups guide through the regulatory and policy implications of innovation. 
 
 Partnership with DBS Asia Hub-2 to create an ‘Innovation Hub’ for Fintech startups 
DBS Asia Hub-2 &amp; T-Hub entered into a strategic partnership to reimagine banking and drive innovation in fintech space. This partnership would leverage a network of fintech start-ups to make banking simpler, seamless and joyful for customers. Further to its quest to lead digital transformation, DAH2 aims at driving innovation and agility in banking through this partnership 
 
Agri-tech Accelrator with ICRSAT and RVP 
T-Hub’s unique three-month Agri-tech Accelerator Programme is a startup focused initiative created in partnership with International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid-Tropics and powered by Riverbridge Ventures Innovation Program which enables Agri-tech startups to receive globval exposure, funding support, expert advice, corporate partnerships, government connects which will help them move their products to market and scale their existing businesses. 
 
CL Educate –Innovation Partnership fostering Student Innovation 
Not just limiting itself to startups, T-hub is taking it a notch higher with this partnership in order to make innovation accessible to millions of youngsters in schools, colleges and jobs. On its first
anniversary, T-Hub, India’s largest incubator for startups announces five new
partnerships

Exactly a year after inauguration, <keyword id="6354480" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="T-hub">T-Hub</keyword>, India’s largest <keyword id="1428402" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Startup-incubator">startup incubator</keyword> which has waged a startup revolution in Hyderabad is now gearing up to roll out the second phase of its facility. Spread across 3,50,000 square feet, the new wing will be made available to entrepreneurs by mid-2018. 
 The size of the new facility will make it not only India’s but infact the world’s largest incubator, making it at par with Anne Higaldo’s ambitious ‘<keyword id="3847693" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="halle-freyssinet">Halle Freyssinet</keyword>’ in Paris, also spread over 3,50,000 square feet. 
 “The second phase of T-Hub's catalyst building, when opened in 2018, will be the largest such facility in the world. There are many international entrepreneurs, including a few from Israel, who are interested in joining the startup ecosystem in Hyderabad,” revealed <keyword id="210411" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jay-Krishnan">Jay Krishnan</keyword>, CEO of T-Hub. 
 
T-Hub, which operates in a public-private partnership with the government of Telangana and three academic institutions (IIIT-H, ISB and NALSAR) recived an investment of Rs 180 crores for the new facility. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is reportedly going to lay the foundation of the building. 
 Additionally, Krishnan also stated that T-Hub is in the process of creating a technology-driven ‘Sandbox’ which will act as a support system and include a high-end <keyword id="6537818" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="supercomputer">supercomputer</keyword> for <keyword id="6362513" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Startups">startups</keyword> which do not have proper access to resources and infrastructure. 
“This is the first time a supercomputer is being made exclusively for entrepreneurs,” he added. 
 
 
 
The super-computer is likely to be made available to startups and entrepreneurs by March next year. The estimated cost of building the super-computer would range between Rs 5 crores and Rs 25 crores. 
 
From now on, T-Hub will also start following a ‘cluster-based approach’ when it comes to managing deal flows for the startups that work out of their Gachibowli facility. Startups will now be segregated startups based on their stages (Idea, Early, Seed) and the verticals they are working on. There will also be a review every six-months to ascertain their progress.

During the investment battle, two startups pitched at the same time in a five round verbal sparring in front of a full-house audience. During five brief rounds they presented their startup to a jury of champion investors, and an audience of potential investors and fans, in a competition that will result in a potential investment for the winner. 

	Mr. Rajat Tandon, Vice President, NASSCOM 10 K start-up program, said “Platform like GITR is ideal for young entrepreneurs who are looking at getting an extended exposure to the startup community of other countries. It gives the startups visibility internationally which is useful for market access. Initiative like GITR will not only support current startups in India by facilitating them in scaling up their operations, but will also encourages more people to join the league”.
 The reward for the winner includes a flight ticket to the international finals, credits from Amazon, Cameras and credits from <keyword id="10387" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Microsoft">Microsoft</keyword> and <keyword id="6357455" type="EVENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Funding">funding</keyword> pitch with Indian Angel Network for the semifinalists. 

	The unique challenge saw participation from 32 startup which included both Indian and International ones. This was internationally the Kickoff event of the new GITR season. The international event which is targeted at innovative startups in India and abroad was co-hosted by DHI Labs, a German based Start-up Incubator venture at Impact Chapter: Startup Challenge in Hyderabad. The event was held at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), HICC Complex , Near HITECH City, Hyderabad, Telangana. Between 2012 and 2014, the concept of Get In The Ring spread rapidly around the world. Startups enter boxing ring to capitalise their talent

<ul><li>Marut Drones claims to have built India’s first drone to eradicate mosquitoes larvae and water hyacinth on lakes. </li><li>It has also built autonomous drones for spraying on agricultural fields. </li><li>The startup was also one of the top startups in Facebook India’s <keyword id="107950" type="TECHNOLOGY" weightage="20" keywordseo="artificial-intelligence">Artificial Intelligence</keyword> accelerator. </li></ul><keyword id="6367900" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="prem-kumar">Prem Kumar</keyword> Vislawath lives in the IT area of <keyword id="6354552" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="hyderabad">Hyderabad</keyword> – Gachibowli, whereas his parents lived 40 kms away near a lake – Mantrala Cheruvu. The name which means a ‘lake of magic’ has nothing magical about it. Moreso, it is swarming with mosquitoes.  With every visit, Vislawath would drop in a letter to the local municipal authorities. Seventeen letters went unresponded and he finally decided to visit them, one of whom said, “Educated people like you need to be helping out authorities in these situations.” That’s when the IIT Guwahati graduate took a step back from his active role as the co-founder of Raasta Films, a filmmaking company and decided to build his second startup along with his batchmates Sai Kumar Chinthala and Suraj Peddi. They built Marut Drones – a startup that uses drones to spray <keyword id="65563" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mosquito">mosquito</keyword> killing repellent in Hyderabad’s massive lakes. “These lakes have water hyacinths growing in them, which often makes it difficult for authorities to enter and spray repellents. Workers too are prone to diseases when they enter water, as it also takes a long time to clean. With the drone we can easily target specific areas where larvae are breeding,” Vislawath told Business Insider. What disturbed Vislawath was that as many as 9.7 million cases of mosquito borne diseases are reported in a year. They lead to 40,297 deaths. The startup claims to have built India’s first drone to eradicate mosquitoes larvae and water hyacinth on lakes as well as autonomous drones that spray on agricultural fields. They also use an AI platform to identify mosquito borne diseases and the areas where they breed. “All of Hyderabad has only 17 entomologists. Only when a complaint comes in, a manual survey is done to check for mosquito breeding. They don’t have real time data. With our technology, a dashboard will show them the data of different breeds of mosquitoes,” he said. Marut Drones has built an IOT device, which captures mosquitoes within a 500 metre range and identifies whether its male or female and what kind of disease it could be carrying. Based on that, they give recommendations on whether the specific area has larvae or adult mosquitoes and how to deal with it. Interestingly for Vislawath and Sai, it was an obvious choice to use drones as they used them for filmmaking. They partnered with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. After a pilot in March in Miyapur lake , the mosquito larval density has come down from 41 per ladle of water to 28. With great results and a boost from the Hyderabad Municipal corporation, Marut Drones is now expanding to Mumbai and Raipur. “We aim to reach out to all smart cities in the country with our effective solutions,” said Vislawath. The startup was also one of the top startups in Facebook India’s Artificial Intelligence accelerator, through which they will get a month of mentorship from the social media giant. The program which was in partnership with Telangana government's <keyword id="6354480" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="t-hub">T-Hub</keyword> saw three finalists who will further receive mentorship from Facebook on go-to-market strategies. The three startups are ftcash, Marut Drones and Innerhour – who will receive “further support for a month of Go-to-Market strategies to increase funnel conversion rates, picking up the sales model, taking product to the entire market, and building company,” said Facebook. “We are thrilled to play a key role in India’s start-up ecosystem, being a catalyst for future growth, using the potential of emerging technologies like AI, to solve the major problems India is facing today,” said Manish Chopra, director and head of partnerships at Facebook India. ftcash ftcash is a financial services company which helps micro-merchants and small businesses with digital payments and loans. The startup was founded in 2015 by Vaibhav Lodha. In May 2019, the startup had raised series A funding of ₹50 crores from global non-profit Accion, Dutch development bank FMO and IvyCap Ventures. But the startup is not new to awards and accomplishments. ftcash was also awarded by Prince William and Kate Middleton as a winner at the UK Trade and Investment – Great Tech Initiative. Marut Drones The Hyderabad-based startup is working on a ground level problem. With its AI powered computer vision, the startup identifies mosquito infestation and hyacinth growth in urban ponds. Using drones, it then sprays repellents in the infected areas. It also recently partnered with Hyderabad’s municipal corporation. The startup founded by Prem Kumar Vislawath in 2019, had earlier received an award from Nasscom – the emerging Technology Award for Drones and AI for Mosquito eradication and disease prediction for malaria and dengue. Innerhour Innerhour has an emotional health app, where with its psychological tools and services it helps in fighting the stigma and lack of access of qualified professionals in the mental health space. It was founded by psychiatrists Dr Amit Malik and Dr Shefali Batra. It had raised ₹3 crore in 2017.

Facebook India to mentor makers of mosquito-killing drone, emotion health app and a digi financer

Apoorv Sharma, co-founder &amp; president, Venture Catalysts, in an earlier interview with Business Insider had put forth the same point to say it will be a vital factor in increasing India’s ranking in the global startup ecosystem. However, Sharma believes that in India, private incubators too need to be given incentives. He cites the example of the US and China, where successful incubators and accelerators are the private ones. Sitharaman announced a slew of initiatives that has the markets rejoicing – corporate tax has been slashed. A domestic company can pay income tax at 22% if they don’t seek any exemption or incentives and there will be an Effective Tax Rate of 25.17% inclusive of all surcharges and cess for such domestic companies.

Pichai wants to tap talent in India and plans to scale engineering and business, thereby revamp campuses in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Google also has plans to step up hiring in Bengaluru. 
 
“Google will ramp up engineering presence in Hyderabad to make products in India,” said the Google CEO. 
 
Speaking about the Android systems, Pichai said that by 2016, there will be more Android users in India as compared to the US. 
 
Pichai also spoke about enhancing wi-fi systems in India. 
 
“We will be rolling out 400 Google-powered public wi-fis by the end of 2016. Testing in Mumbai Railway station is underway currently. There are no plans to monetise now,” he added. 
 
Pichai will be meeting Google executives, media, developers, entrepreneurs and marketers during his stay in India. 
 
The Google CEO will also meet resident Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. 
 
Pichai will meet students of Shri Ram College of Commerce for a chat session.
