Bharatiya Janata Party (<keyword id="14666" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="bjp" source="Orion">BJP</keyword>) leader <keyword id="908125" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="bhupendra-patel" source="Orion">Bhupendra Patel</keyword> has taken the oath of Chief Minister of <keyword id="6354766" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="gujarat" source="Orion">Gujarat</keyword> for a second consecutive time in Gandhinagar on Monday. Patel was administered the oath as the 18th Chief Minister by Governor Acharya Devvrat at the Helipad Ground near the new Secretariat in Gandhinagar at 2 pm. The ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="narendra-modi" source="Orion">Narendra Modi</keyword>, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Ministers of BJP-led states. As per sources, about 20 cabinet ministers will also take oath on the same day, along with Bhupendra Patel and will take charge of their respective offices, the very next day. BJP swept the Gujarat Assembly election winning a whopping 156 seats, which is the highest number of seats any party has won after the formation of the state in the year 1960. The BJP's seventh consecutive Assembly poll win in Gujarat is its biggest since the founding of this state in 1960. Patel was sworn in as the 17th Chief Minister of Gujarat on September 13, 2021. He was first elected as BJP legislative party leader on September 12, 2021. He began his political journey as a member in Memnagar municipality and got elected as MLA from Ghatlodia constituency (Ahmedabad) in the 2017 Gujarat assembly elections. Breaking his own record, Patel once again won from Ghatlodia constituency by a staggering margin of 1,91,000 votes in the 2022 election. This overwhelming majority of the BJP in Gujarat depicts the absolute faith of the people in Patel's leadership. Patel has vast experience in administration, having served as the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and as a Corporator for Thaltej ward from 2010 to 2015. He began his political career in 1995 when he was appointed as the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Memnagar municipality. He served the municipality for over a decade, becoming Chairman of the local body during 1999-2000 and 2004-2006. He also served as the Vice Chairman of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation School Board between 2008 and 2010. Later on, he served as a Corporator from Thaltej ward from 2010 to 2015. During this tenure, he served as the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). In 2015, he was appointed as the chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA). In 2017, Patel became a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the first time, by winning the election from Ghatlodia constituency with a wide margin of 1,17,000 votes. Born on July 15, 1962, in Ahmedabad, Patel holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Government Polytechnic, Ahmedabad. He is a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He is also an active member of Pandit Deendayal Library managed by RSS at Memnagar. The BJP created history in Gujarat with a landslide victory in the 2022 election and its 7th consecutive win. It is the party's largest win in Gujarat since the state's formation in 1960. It is an important win for the BJP. Notably, there has always been a strong contest between the BJP and Congress in Gujarat, but this time around, Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) entry made this election an interesting one. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal tried hard to woo the people of Gujarat with the promises of providing free electricity and water, Rs 1,000 per month for women and a loan waiver for farmers. On the other hand, Congress also tried to attract voters with all kinds of sops. The BJP bagged 156 seats in the 182-member Assembly, its highest-ever poll tally in the state. The opposition Congress could manage only 17 seats while Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party had to be content with just 5 seats. Three seats went to Independent candidates while the Samajwadi Party (SP) won a lone seat in the state. The BJP, which has won its seventh straight election in Gujarat, not only improved its own best record of 127 seats in 2002-- the first election with Narendra Modi as Chief Minister -- but the Congress' tally of 149 seats in 1985. Bhupendra Patel takes oath as Gujarat chief minister

<keyword id="19924335" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tata-group" source="keywords">Tata Group</keyword> is planning to build a huge semiconductor fab plant in <keyword id="19906863" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gujarat" source="keywords">Gujarat</keyword>'s <keyword id="20006005" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="dholera" source="keywords">Dholera</keyword>, and it will begin operations in 2024 itself, Chairman N <keyword id="20015665" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="chandrasekaran" source="keywords">Chandrasekaran</keyword> said on Wednesday. He said the salt-to-software group is in the final stages of negotiations for the plant. "Tata Group has also made a commitment, and is on the verge of concluding and announcing a huge semiconductor fab in Dholera, and we are about to complete these negotiations and start in 2024," Chandrasekaran said at the 10th <keyword id="19916472" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="vibrant-gujarat-global-summit" source="keywords">Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit</keyword> here. The chairman also said the group will begin construction of a 20 gigawatt lithium ion storage battery factory in the state's Sanand city in the next two months. Chandrasekaran said in the recent past, the group has made a "significant commitment" to expand its presence in Sanand, which, he said is becoming a home for all of the group's electric vehicle technology. The expansion in Sanand has been undertaken to meet the growing demand for EVs, he added. Apart from that, the group is also building the C295 defence aircraft in Vadodara initially and will later start manufacturing it at Dholera, Chandrasekaran said. First phase of the Indian Institute of Skills being constructed in partnership with the central and state governments will be launched by March 2024 in the state, he said. "We see Gujarat as a very very important destination, not only for business growth but for the future advanced technology industries that India is looking to grow in," he said. At present, 21 companies from the group are present in the state and employ over 50,000 people, the chairman said, stating that the group has been closely linked to the state because of its founder's hometown being Navsari. He said the "steady and spectacular" progress in Gujarat demonstrates the visionary leadership of Prime Minister <keyword id="19895781" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="narendra-modi" source="keywords">Narendra Modi</keyword>, who started the event two decades ago. Chandrasekaran said the economic benefits which have accrued to the state have also had a tremendous impact on social development. His name was proposed by CM <keyword id="193875" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vijay-Rupani" source="Orion">Vijay Rupani</keyword>, whose resignation from the post on Saturday surprised many. Most of the 112 MLAs of the party in the 182-member Assembly were present at the meeting, BJP sources said. Patel won the 2017 Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections from Ghatlodia constituency, defeating Congress candidate Shashikant Patel by over one lakh votes, the highest winning margin in the 2017 Gujarat polls. He holds a diploma in civil engineering and is considered close to former CM Anandiben Patel, who won from the seat in 2012 polls. With Patel being named the new legislature party leader, the suspense over who will succeed Rupani as Gujarat chief minister has ended. The new leader will meet the governor and stake claim to form the government, sources said. BJP's central observers Narendra Singh Tomar and Prahlad Joshi and party general secretary Tarun Chaug were present at the legislature party meet. Tomar met state BJP chief C R Paatil on Sunday morning. He believed he was going to work in security — but when he arrived, he was taken to a military training camp and then to the front lines.He died in a missile strike in Ukraine in late February, his family said.Mangukiya's father, Ashwin, told The Guardian that the family is "devasted" and that they are "still trying to get back his dead body."At least 26 Indian men have been tricked by recruitment videos by the YouTube channel Baba Vlogs, run by the Dubai-based Indian recruiter Faisal Khan, The Guardian said.The channel falsely advertised military helper jobs that would not involve fighting on the front lines.Khan told The Guardian that he had been "misled" by a Russian intermediary about the position and said he had "no idea they would be sent to a war zone.""We are trying to get these people out of there now," he said.Similar tactics have been used on Nepalese citizens. Speaking to The Guardian from an army hospital in Russia, Nandaram Pun, from the Rolpa district in Nepal, said that he had been offered a job in Germany and was told to go to Russia as a transit stop.But like many others, he said he was taken to a military camp shortly after arriving in Moscow. He was later sent to Bakhmut in Ukraine, where he became injured in a drone attack."We had no idea about the drone attacks. My legs, thighs and right hand were hit by shrapnel," he said. Aside from law and order, Shah will push the National Register of Citizens Bill, which proposes to grant citizenship to Hindus, Buddhists, Parsis, Jains, Sikhs and Christians from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan after six years of residence in India, even if they cannot produce the required documents. The amendment bill was passed by the Lok Sabha in January 2018 but could not be introduced in the Rajya Sabha, which means it is now set to lapse. He also has ₹97 lakh in UltraTech, ₹83 lakh in Hindustan Lever and ₹65 lakh in Maruti. Never before had a non-Congress government returned to power with a thumping majority like the National Democratic Alliance led by the BJP did in 2019 and Amit Shah has been credited for his sharp political acumen and strategic thinking. Members of Patel community resorted to arson, stone-pelting and vandalism after brief detention of their 22-year-old leader Hardik Patel. 
 
Patel has called for a state-wide bandh to press their demand for reservation.

The Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti, which is spearheading the agitation, was of the opinion that the social, financial and educational conditions available to the community have been steadily deteriorating, asking state’s help to support them.
