If you are an avid <keyword id="26022" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="bigg-boss">Bigg Boss</keyword> fan, you must remember <keyword id="31814" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="nigaar-khan">Nigaar Khan</keyword>’s last visit to the Bigg Boss house. She entered the house to visit her younger sister <keyword id="66707" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gauahar-Khan">Gauahar Khan</keyword> during the last Bigg Boss season, which Gauahar went on to win. 
 
This time around, Nigaar has entered the Bigg Boss house not as a visitor but as a contestant, and we can’t wait to see how this 35-year old model-cum-actress, who is known for her vibrancy in real life and negative characters in reel life, twists the ongoing controversies in the house. 
 
For those of you who don’t know much about her, Nigaar is famous not only for being the elder sister of Gauahar Khan, but also as a successful model. Her first acting role came in the form of Lipstick, a serial telecasted on Zee, where she played a grey character. She is seen in various reality shows since then, <keyword id="844920" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Khan-Sisters">Khan Sisters</keyword> being the one that gave audience a glimpse of Nigaar’s and Gauahar’s lives. In almost all her reality shows, Khan has come across as a positive person. 
 
However, call it her brilliant acting skills or her being typecast or something else, we have mostly seen her playing negative characters on reel. Her stints in serials like Sapno Ke Bhanwar Mein, Hongey Judaa Na Hum, Savitri, and Buddha have mostly been negative. She was last seen in the Sony show Main Naa Bhoolungi, in which she again played the negative character of Madhurima Jagannath. 
 
Bigg Boss season 8, which was sometimes touted as the most dull season amongst all the Bigg Boss seasons, has slowly started to gain pace in its 7th week. It was only last week when <keyword id="983479" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Dimpy-Mahajan">Dimpy Mahajan</keyword> and <keyword id="2587090" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Renee-Dhyani">Renee Dhyani</keyword> entered the Bigg Boss house, and less than a week later, Nigaar has made her entry.

After Gauahar, Another Khan Sister Eyeing The Bigg Boss Trophy

When <keyword id="707762" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Thalaivar">Thalaivar</keyword> takes the centre stage, big bucks are bound to roll in. The <keyword id="25892" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="box-office">box office</keyword> drought is finally over as silver screen sensation <keyword id="14509" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rajinikanth">Rajinikanth</keyword>’s latest outing <keyword id="1849408" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kochadaiiyaan">Kochadaiiyaan</keyword> has turned out to be a smash hit, crossing the Rs 50 crore mark in just five days, according to industry estimates. The movie grossed Rs 42 crore worldwide in the first three days, according to a release by <keyword id="128026" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Eros-International">Eros International</keyword>. Domestic collections amounted to Rs 30 crore in the opening weekend while the rest came from overseas business. This could be equivalent to Rs 32.3 crore nett worldwide, as per trade estimates. “Kochadaiiyaan opening weekend – Worldwide: Rs 42 cr gross. All 6 languages. 2D and 3D. SUPERB,” film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted. 
 However, first Monday collections dipped considerably to Rs 5 crore in the <keyword id="1761158" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="indian-circuit">Indian circuit</keyword> while the movie managed to earn Rs 4.5 crore at home on the first Tuesday. Although overseas numbers for these two days are not available yet, industry insiders put gross worldwide collections at Rs 50 crore-plus just after five days. “Kochadaiiyaan… has fared exceptionally well in <keyword id="8695" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Malaysia">Malaysia</keyword> in particular. Is good in the <keyword id="6355055" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="USA">USA</keyword>, the UK &amp; <keyword id="6355478" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Australia">Australia</keyword>,” Adarsh tweeted about weekday business. With earnings from <keyword id="6358065" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Satellite">satellite</keyword> rights in multiple languages, audio and music rights, brand tie-ups and other income, the film is well on its way to cross Rs 100 in revenues. 
 This period drama-cum-futuristic fantasy was off to a stupendous start on Friday (May 23), hitting 3,000-plus theatres worldwide. Eros International released the film in 2D and 3D, in 6 languages, and directly undertook the distribution in <keyword id="20154" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="tamil-nadu">Tamil Nadu</keyword>. The flick saw nearly 95% occupancy in Tamil Nadu where Rajinikanth has a huge fan following. In contrast, the Telugu version saw a lacklustre beginning at home, grossing only Rs 5 crore in the first 3 days. Business slumped in the <keyword id="2266509" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Northern-belt">Northern belt</keyword> as well and the Rajini-starrer significantly lagged behind with Rs 4 crore gross during the first three days. The budget of this movie is Rs 125 crore across all languages. 
 In case you are not aware of its many merits, let us quickly run you through some landmarks. Directed by <keyword id="1800934" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Soundarya-R-Ashwin">Soundarya R. Ashwin</keyword> (Rajini’s daughter) and written by K.S. Ravikumar, Kochadaiiyaan is India’s first 3D film to use <keyword id="2266515" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Photorealistic-motion-capturing">photorealistic motion capturing</keyword> techniques – a technology that makes animation as lifelike as possible (you had a good dose of it in James Cameron’s <keyword id="44111" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Avatar">Avatar</keyword>). The film has Rajinikanth in triple roles – Kochadaiiyaan, Rana and Sena. <keyword id="598" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Deepika-Padukone">Deepika Padukone</keyword>, <keyword id="297" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jackie-Shroff">Jackie Shroff</keyword>, <keyword id="1029184" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="nassar">Nassar</keyword> and <keyword id="24628" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shobana">Shobana</keyword> did pretty well in other key roles in the film. The music has been composed by <keyword id="11851" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="AR-Rahman">AR Rahman</keyword> and cinematography has been handled by Padmesh. 
 
For the thinking audience, however, the storyline has nothing new. It features the same old conflict between the good and the evil but also comes with some surprising twists and moral dilemmas. Yet, at the end, it tires more than illuminates, failing to take you past the visual dazzle. As film critic Shubhra Gupta so rightly notes, “Even Rajini, the one and the only, can’t pick up a film and run with it, if it has the oldest, creakiest plots cobbled together from many books. But the best tech specs in the world can’t rescue a sinking story… After a point, it all becomes too much sound and fury and not much else. One Rajini flipping cigarettes is much more fun than two Rajinis flinging swords in never never land.” 
 
 
 Produced by <keyword id="27326" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sajid-Nadiadwala">Sajid Nadiadwala</keyword> and directed by <keyword id="616900" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sabbir-Khan">Sabbir Khan</keyword>, <keyword id="1184791" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Heropanti">Heropanti</keyword> (a remake of the 1983 movie Hero) is the other release of the week and has performed better than Kochadaiiyaan in the northern circuits. The action-romance flick has seen an influx of debut actors (a total of 21) including <keyword id="133664" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tiger-Shroff">Tiger Shroff</keyword> (Jackie’s son) and <keyword id="210696" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kriti-Sanon">Kriti Sanon</keyword> in the lead roles 
 
“Heropanti passes the crucial ‘Monday test.’ Fri 6.63 cr, Sat 6.42 cr, Sun 8.28 cr, Mon 4.26 cr. Total: Rs 25.59 cr nett. India biz,” tweeted Adarsh while trade figure puts the domestic collections at Rs 24.96 crore. <keyword id="1996079" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Overseas-collections">Overseas collections</keyword> stood at Rs 2.13 crore gross after Day 4. The masala entertainer was released in 2,100 screens across India and its debut day earning is the fifth highest opening day collection for movies released in 2014, behind <keyword id="6593120" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Jai-Ho">Jai Ho</keyword>, <keyword id="72970" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="2-States">2 States</keyword>, <keyword id="6427325" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gunday">Gunday</keyword> and <keyword id="1020628" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ragini-MMS-2">Ragini MMS 2</keyword>. Earnings on Monday fell less than 40% than what it was on Friday and the strong growth continued even on Day 5 (Tuesday, May 27) when it collected around Rs 4 crore at home. 
 
This one is a medium-budget movie and cost around Rs 26 crore including promotion. So we can safely assume that it is set to be a hit without much fuss. But all these good numbers do not essentially spell quality. 
 While Kriti Sanon (<keyword id="7876" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Dimpy">Dimpy</keyword>) looks quite striking in a below-par storyline featuring love-and-marriage adventures and misadventures in Jattland, Tiger Shroff (<keyword id="230102" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bablu">Bablu</keyword>) looks quite inane unless he is in the thick of the action, doing some awesome stunts and beating up the goons. Noted film critic Anupama Chopra has given the movie 2 out of 5 stars saying, “Heropanti is comically bad and the disjointed narrative brims with low-IQ, high-testosterone men brandishing weapons. The women are puppets who either simper or scream.” 
 
Quite depressing, if you ask us, but there’s one silver lining. Both movies are raking in the moolah after a long time and that’s what matters in the business of cinema.

With schools, hospitals and therapy centres closed during the 21-day nationwide <keyword id="91743" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="lockdown">lockdown</keyword> in India, everyone is facing challenges but children with special and additional needs are the hardest hit. Ten-year-old Dimpy and 6-year-old Bani, both sisters suffering from a group of disorders called <keyword id="53986" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Cerebral-Palsy">cerebral palsy</keyword> are finding it difficult to cope up with the new challenges that the lockdown has thrown upon them. Having 90 percent disability, they neither can walk nor can they speak, listen or even sit properly. Since one-to-one therapy session is required in such cases, both girls are not able to go for the same. Their mother Pinky is facing the most difficult time during the lockdown. Speaking to IANS, Pinky, said, "Life is already difficult for me with both my girls, having cerebral palsy. This lockdown has mounted the problems even more. My daughters need to remain in diapers for the entire day, therefore, I need more diapers for them than normal children. But during this lockdown its supply is interrupted. It is one of the essential commodities for my girls." She also said, "They cannot ask even for food, if they are hungry. I have to give them food many times a day as per their routine but with limited supply of edibles in my locality, I am not able to feed them properly." Pinky's problems do not end there. She said that she could not renew the disability certificates of the girls as the date on which it was to be renewed, fell in the lockdown period. "My husband ran from pillar to post for their various tests for the entire year. Carrying two grown up girls was not easy for him. The certificate is issued based on many tasks including I.Q. test. But when the date of renewal came, the hospital which has to issue the certificate, is closed. These girls are not getting financial help which they used to get and I have no clue when will the certificate be renewed," she said. Pinky said that she was also facing problems in getting ration and water from the tanker that the government sends. "I cannot leave home at all because my daughters need me every minute. Therefore, I don't work also. I am facing financial difficulty as my husband is also out of work due to the lockdown. Therefore, this has posed extreme challenges for me," she said. Abhiraj, a 4-and-a-half year old boy who is also suffering from cerebral palsy, complains to his mother about severe muscle pain as he requires special exercises owing to his physical condition. "Since the lockdown, he has not gone for therapy," his mother Preeti told IANS, adding "telemedicine in his case is also not very helpful as the exercises need to be done in person and not online or over the phone." "My son largely depends on exercises that his therapist makes him do. It needs space but I stay in a rented one room set which is very small, he is not able to follow his routine. Therapy centres and hospitals are closed. He is not doing those body movements and complains of severe muscle pain," said Preeti. Also, the little boy is not able to understand why he has to stay at home for the entire day. He is showing anxiety and frustration as he has to remain indoors. "It is very difficult for me to make my son stay at home all the time. He insists to take him outside. Earlier, he used to go to school where he was happy but now schools are closed. He has become very irritable and anxious," said Preeti. She was planning to go back to her hometown in <keyword id="91172" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Etawah">Etawah</keyword> but could not go due to lockdown. "I planned to move back to my home town in Etawah, at least I would have my family members and food there. My husband is a daily wager. I have no money, as he is out of work. It's very expensive to take care of a special child. This lockdown has broken our backbone. Not a penny is coming home. I don't know how to fulfill needs of my son when I have no money at all." Child rights activist and founder of NGO Astha which works for children with disabilities in urban slums of South Delhi, <keyword id="9022340" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="radhika-alkazi">Radhika Alkazi</keyword>, told IANS, "It is very important to highlight the problems these kids are facing right now. There are problems with their medication especially for those on long term medication or having chronic medical conditions like epilepsy or Thalasemia. The biggest issue is food. Most of their parents work as a daily wager in the unorganised sector. Even if there is food distribution during the lockdown, how much can one carry if there are two kids with disability in one family?" She also added, "they are anyway isolated mostly but in this kind of lockdown when they are totally locked in the house without much physical movement, it is very difficult for them as well as for their families." Children with special needs are the worst hit during lockdown

The eighth season of Indian reality show Bigg Boss, which started way back in September last year is finally coming to an end. 
 
If reports are to be believed, Gautam Gulati, Preetam Singh and Karishma Tanna are the contestants who are going to fight it out for the winning title and the rumoured prize money of Rs 5 million. 
 
Dimpy Ganguly and Ali Quli Mirza are out of the race and would be eliminated in tonight’s episode. 
 The former host of the show, superstar <keyword id="6354583" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Salman-Khan">Salman Khan</keyword> is rumoured to make a comeback for the season’s finale. 
 
What started off as another yearly season of the reality show was dragged into another show named Bigg Boss Halla Bol, because Chakravartin Ashok Samrat, the show which was supposed to replace <keyword id="1985489" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bigg-Boss-8">Bigg Boss 8</keyword>, was not ready. 
 
The first look of the show was unveiled by Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors, on his social media yesterday.

Bigg Boss 8 To FINALLY Come To An End

Ever since Bigg Boss, the biggest reality show in India, began its eighth season, it has been struggling to find a good position on the TRP chart. Reports suggest that Aamir Khan’s seasonal show, Satyamev Jayate 3, got better TRPs than Bigg Boss season 8. In fact, the eighth season’s ratings are the lowest compared to all past seasons of this show.
 

	These reports and rankings surely have been bothering the producers, who are trying hard to spice things up.
 

	For instance when the theme of aeroplane didn’t go down well with the audience, the producers shifted the contestants to a lavish house just one week after the premiere and toned down the aeroplane settings.
 

	Even after this, the audience didn’t appreciate the show and the producers had to call some wild card entries in the house to put things on the right track. These wild cards included Ali Quli Mirza, Dimpy Mahajan, Renee Dhyani and Nigaar Z Khan.
 <keyword id="1985489" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bigg-Boss-8">Bigg Boss 8</keyword> is now gearing up for the biggest and probably the costliest change; its makers have now decided to bring in the American reality TV star <keyword id="6357837" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kim-Kardashian">Kim Kardashian</keyword> into the house. 

	Kardashian, who is known to flaunt her personal life in the hit show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, will be entering the house for a short while. 
 

	As we all know, Kardashian recently ‘broke the internet’ as she bared it all for a photoshoot for an international magazine. The fire of that picture has not even fizzled down and she is all set to enter the controversial reality show.
 

	Kim is reportedly charging a whooping amount of Rs 70 lakh per episode. However, when we dug deeper into her Twitter feed, we came across this tweet where she mentioned that she would be touring three countries in one week:
 

	
 

	As she plans to spend one week in three countries, India being one of them, we don’t think that she would be spending more than two nights in the Bigg Boss house. Rest, we will have to wait for her entry in the house to see how things get juiced up, and if producers would decide to carry on with her role.
 

	In the past, we had several other foreign guests in the show. The list includes actors Jade Goody and Pamela Anderson, cricketer Andrew Symonds, and Sumo wrestler Yamamotoyama.
