The country's real GDP growth may fall 5% in the current financial year ending March 2020, the report added. The COVID-19 outbreak happened earlier in China and therefore, it has reduced and the economy is reopening earlier than other parts of the world. Therefore, the recovery trends in China could be a good cue for countries, especially emerging markets like India, to estimate what the post-COVID economic trends might be. China’s equity research team of Goldman Sachs put together a tracker that tracks consumer and industrial demand across China, as the official stats come with a few days lag. The tracker revealed steady growth in China’s economy. “if we really look at the most recently updated, the average aggregate demand, the level average to about 81% as of April 24. So that’s our last, the data points updated and this is a versus the bottom in February, which is only around 50%. Back in January we were at about 90%. Goldman Sachs’s China recovery data can spark hope for HUL and D-Mart, and make Maruti, Tata Motors and IndiGo more anxious

 <keyword id="849288" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aditya-Birla-Retail-Limited">Aditya Birla Retail Limited</keyword> (<keyword id="148276" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="ABRL">ABRL</keyword>) has passed a board resolution that allows shares to be issued on a preferential basis to either Kanishtha Finance &amp; Investment or RKN Retail, promoted by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Aditya-Birla-Group-would-soon-allow-employees-to-take-time-off-for-pursuing-their-entrepreneurial-ideas/articleshow/51024584.cms">Birla</a>, his family and some closely-held companies of the family. These details were revealed by the privately-held company in a filing with the Registrar of Companies.

"The issuance and allotment for shares up to Rs 500 crore will be in one or more tranches within a period of twelve months," the filing said. With the additional capital, the company will be able to meet its capital expenditure needs while also handling of its debt. 
 "The board resolution was related to an enabling provision to allow the company increase the authorised capital to meet its general corporate expenses in the ordinary course of business and also to refinance its existing debt portfolio," <keyword id="271065" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Pranab-Barua">Pranab Barua</keyword>, business director for apparel and retail business at <keyword id="44373" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aditya-Birla-Group">Aditya Birla Group</keyword>, told ET.

ABRL is the fourth largest supermarket chain in India, featuring in the list after <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Kishore-Biyani-in-talks-to-raise-Rs-300-crore-for-FMCG-business/articleshow/50055279.cms">Future Group</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/LYF-worth-could-be-1-billion-next-year/articleshow/52255160.cms">Reliance Retail </a>and <keyword id="3374400" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="DMart">D'Mart</keyword>. As of now, the authorised capital is Rs 390 crore, from which it is being planned to be increased to Rs 750 crore. 
 
Since its inception over 9 years ago, ABRL has seen losses of Rs 5,320 crore; however, for the year ended March 2015, the losses were reduced by 5% and brought down to Rs 571 crore. 
 
The reason behind this is said to be their strategy of focusing on <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/One-of-Aditya-Birlas-cos-is-heading-for-a-London-Stock-Exchange-listing-soon/articleshow/49448895.cms">profitable markets</a>.

Equity benchmark Sensex rallied 487 points on Monday to close at a fresh lifetime peak, tracking gains in Infosys, HDFC twins and HCL Tech amid massive foreign fund inflows. After touching a record intra-day high of 49,303.79, the 30-share BSE index ended 486.81 points or 1 per cent higher at 49,269.32. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty surged 137.50 points or 0.96 per cent to finish at 14,484.75. It hit a fresh intra-day high of 14,498.20. On the Sensex chart, HCL Tech was the top gainer, soaring around 6 per cent, followed by Infosys, HDFC, Bajaj Auto, Maruti, <keyword id="43217" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tech-Mahindra">Tech Mahindra</keyword> and M&amp;M. On the other hand, <keyword id="85462" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bajaj-FinServ">Bajaj Finserv</keyword>, <keyword id="111876" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bajaj-Finance">Bajaj Finance</keyword>, <keyword id="6355199" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-industries">Reliance Industries</keyword>, L&amp;T, Kotak Bank and SBI were among the laggards. According to Binod Modi, Head-Strategy at <keyword id="197560" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Securities">Reliance Securities</keyword>, domestic equities remained in the grip of bulls with benchmark indices registering fresh highs as robust earnings performance by TCS and D-Mart bolstered investors' confidence. "Continued improvement in COVID-19 recovery rates and announcement of vaccination process from January 16 offered comfort to markets. Further, expectations of sharp recovery in corporate earnings led by sustained rebound in key economic data may propel market to witness fresh highs in the near term," he stated. FPI flow may continue to remain favourable given status of global economy, stance of global central bankers and weak dollar, he said, adding that domestic equities can also witness pre-Budget rally in the coming weeks considering broad expectations of pro-growth measures. Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) were net buyers in the capital market as they purchased shares worth Rs 6,029.83 crore on Friday, according to exchange data. Elsewhere in Asia, bourses in Hong Kong and Seoul ended with gains, while Shanghai was in the red. Stock exchanges in Europe were trading on a negative note in early deals. Meanwhile, the global oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 1.52 per cent lower at USD 55.14 per barrel. New Delhi, May 16 () Radhakishan S Damani family, the promoters of retail chain D-Mart, has increased shareholding in India Cements Ltd by 15.16 per cent as of March 2020.Radhakishan S Damani and his brother Gopikishan S Damani now together hold 19.89 per cent in India Cements, the Chennai-based company headed by N Srinivasan, according to a regulatory filing.Radhakishan S Damani held 4.73 per cent in India Cements as of December 2019. He now holds 3,18,86,777 share of India Cements, which is 10.29 per cent, while his brother Gopikishan Shivkishan Damani owns 8.26 per cent, which is 2,56,01,589 shares of the company as on March 31, 2020.While Radhakishan S Damani &amp; Gopikishan S Damani together hold 1.34 per cent, which is 41,45,103 shares of India Cements.According to a filing on BSE under the Substantial Acquisition of Share and Takeover Regulation on February 26, Damanis had acquired 7.27 per cent share of the company.The purchase was made from the open market between February 25 and 26, increasing their stake from 4.71 per cent to 11.98 per cent. Then from February 27 to March 16, another 4.2 per cent shares were acquired in several tranches from the open market, increasing Damanis' stake to 16 per cent and more stocks were also purchased from March 17 to March 25. Damanis increase stake in India Cements to 19.89pc

New Delhi, Feb 5 () IT major Wipro on Wednesday moved out of the list of top-20 most valued companies by market capitalisation giving way to Avenue Supermarts, which runs the D-Mart supermarkets chain. At close of trade, the market capitalisation (m-cap) of Avenue Supermarts was at Rs 1,41,205.36 crore, which is Rs 2,777.03 crore more than that of Wipro's Rs 1,38,428.33 crore valuation on the BSE. Avenue Supermarts is now placed at the 20th rank in the list of top 100 companies by market cap, while Wipro has taken the 21st position. Shares of Avenue Supermarts jumped 4.35 per cent, while those of Wipro gained 0.85 per cent on the BSE. Avenue Supermarts had got listed on the bourses on March 21, 2017. Since its listing, shares of the company have zoomed 251 per cent. Reliance Industries Limited is the country's most valued firm with a m-cap of Rs 9,17,953.13 crore followed by TCS Rs 8,04,980.33 crore. However, the profit grew by five-fold compared to the sequentially quarter amid easing of lockdown restrictions. The revenue during the quarter also fell 11.4% to ₹5,306.2 crore. The shares of Avenue Supermarts ended over 0.52% higher on Friday. Tata Communications Tata Communications posted an around seven-fold jump in its consolidated net profit to ₹384.81 crore for the second quarter ended September 30. The company’s consolidated revenue grew 4.5% to ₹4,477.18 crore during the quarter, the company said in a BSE filing. The shares of Tata Communications ended 5% higher on Friday. Jet Airways Cash-strapped Jet Airways on Saturday approved the resolution plan submitted by London-based Kalrock Capital and UAE-based businessmen Murari Lal Jalan to acquire the airline. The shares of Jet Airways ended 5% higher on Friday. RIL, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea In July, Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio added over 2.5 million active subscribers, while its rivals Airtel lost 0.4 million and Vodafone-Idea lost over 3.8 million active users, based on TRAI report. The shares of RIL ended 1.2% lower on Friday, whereas Airtel and Vodafone-Idea closed nearly a percent higher.
