"Starting 03 September 2024, customers will, progressively, no longer be able to make bookings with Vistara for travel on or after 12 November 2024," the company said. However, Vistara will continue to take bookings and operate flights as usual till 11 November 2024. All Vistara aircraft will be operated by Air India and bookings for the routes operated by these aircraft will be redirected to Air India's website, the company informed. During this transition period, both Vistara and Air India will ensure necessary support, consistent communication, and convenience to all customers, every step of the way. Vistara-Air India merger: Bookings for Vistara to stop from Sept 3, unified operations start from Nov 12

New Delhi: Aviation safety regulator the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (<keyword id="19899185" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="DGCA" source="keywords">DGCA</keyword>) has placed <keyword id="19987725" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="SpiceJet" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="SpiceJet" meta.hostid="83" meta.entityid="SpiceJet">Spicejet</keyword> under '<keyword id="20073402" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="enhanced-surveillance" source="keywords">enhanced surveillance</keyword>' with immediate effect. A senior DGCA official said that based on reports of cancellation of flights and financial stress being experienced by <keyword id="22971642" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="spicejet-airlines" source="keywords">Spicejet Airlines</keyword>, a special audit of Spicejet engineering facilities was conducted on the August 7 and Auugst 8, 2024, which has revealed certain deficiencies. Following a series of occurrences reported on the Spicejet fleet in 2022, a special drive of spot checks was undertaken during which Spicejet was permitted to release aircraft for operations only after confirming to DGCA that all reported defects/malfunctions had been rectified. During the year 2023, based on reports of the airline being under financial stress, it was again placed under enhanced surveillance. In light of the past record and the special audit carried out in August 2024, Spicejet has once again been placed under enhanced surveillance with immediate effect. This would entail an increase in the number of spot checks and night surveillance with a view to ensure safety of operations. According to reports, the airline's passengers were on Thursday barred from checking-in for their flights at Dubai airport over delayed payments. On reports of cancellation of Spicejet flights from Dubai, the airline spokesperson said, "Due to operational reasons, a few SpiceJet flights from Dubai were cancelled. Affected passengers have been accommodated on subsequent SpiceJet flights, on other airlines or provided with a full refund. All our scheduled flights from Dubai are now operating as planned."

"Especially since I've got back from Florida, I've seen far more females in the building, which has been really nice."<h2 id="ba00f0a0-3bea-4f65-8f28-144b76cebace">Ground school, flight school, and simulators</h2>Skyborne's pilot course starts with six months of classes, which Harriss described as "really intense" and has just two seven-day breaks.Roebuck said she would get up at 7 a.m. and be in classes or studying until 11 p.m. as well as putting in another 12 hours on weekends. "What you put in is what you get out of this course."There's also customer-service training that includes roleplaying different scenarios. Meet the trainees paying $136,000 to become the next generation of airline pilots

New Delhi, Aviation watchdog <keyword id="19899185" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="dgca" source="keywords">DGCA</keyword> has deferred the implementation of the revised flight duty norms for pilots that were to be effective from June 1, according to two civil aviation ministry officials. One of the officials on Tuesday said the revised norms have been deferred for some time to have wider consultations. The new norms provide for more rest time for pilots and seek to alleviate pilot fatigue. The latest decision comes less than two weeks after the <keyword id="19926254" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="directorate-general-of-civil-aviation" source="keywords">Directorate General of Civil Aviation</keyword> (DGCA) told airlines that the deadline for implementing the revised Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms will not be deferred. Another official said implementation of the revised FDTL norms has been deferred for some time to enable thorough consideration of all elements. The <keyword id="20738678" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="federation-of-indian-airlines" source="keywords">Federation of Indian Airlines</keyword> (FIA), comprising <keyword id="19896871" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="air-india" source="keywords">Air India</keyword>, <keyword id="19987725" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="spicejet" source="keywords">SpiceJet</keyword> and <keyword id="19899182" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="indigo" source="keywords">IndiGo</keyword>, had written at least twice to the regulator seeking more time for implementation of the revised FDTL norms that were issued on January 8. In a communication to the FIA earlier this month, the regulator said the airlines have to take all necessary steps to roll out the revised FDTL CAR (<keyword id="20777683" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="civil-aviation-requirements" source="keywords">Civil Aviation Requirements</keyword>) with effect from June 1, 2024. The revised norms provide for increased weekly rest time to 48 hours for pilots and limit the number of landings to two during night operations. Besides, the night hours for pilots will be extended to cover the period from midnight to 6 am whereas it was midnight to 5 am earlier. Also, all airlines have to compulsorily submit quarterly fatigue reports, which "should follow a non-punitive and confidentiality policy".

The post quickly caught the attention of social media users and prompted a notable response from the airline. That would never happen. But that is what happened to us. A civil rights organization may warn Black travelers from using American Airlines after a spate of racial-discrimination claims

The CEO also met the civil aviation secretary for any future course of action. The budget airline last Thursday had filed a petition with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), seeking protection under bankruptcy law. It had also sought an interim moratorium to prevent the seizure of its 26 aircraft by aircraft lessors. In addition, the airline sought direction to appoint an insolvency resolution process (IRP) for the betterment of Go First. The NCLT, the President Justice Ramalingam <keyword id="198622" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sudhakar" source="Orion">Sudhakar</keyword> and technical member LN Gupta announced the order, adding, "We appoint Abhilash Lal as IRP (Insolvency Resolution Professional). Suspended board of directors will cooperate with the IRP." The airline operator has recently filed an application for immediate resolution under insolvency and revival of its operations. Meanwhile, Go First has cancelled all its flights until May 19 this year. Earlier, the cancellations were till May 12. The airline said a full refund would be issued to the original mode of payment shortly. Go First currently has around 50 aircraft in its fleet, with 50 per cent grounded due to engine outages.
