The company said in a statement that due to the active cooperation extended by WazirX and active anti-money laundering (AML) checks that led to the blocking of suspicious accounts, "ED has unfreezed the bank accounts of WazirX". "WazirX is now in a position to continue its banking operations as usual," said the crypto exchange. Last month, ED sleuths raided WazirX's parent company Zanmai Lab. It searched the premises and froze its bank assets worth ₹ 64.67 crore "for assisting accused instant loan App companies in laundering of fraud money via purchase and transfer of virtual crypto assets". The ED has been conducting an investigation of 16 fintech companies and Instant loan apps, some of them happened to use WazirX platform. The company clarified that it has no association with any of the alleged accused fintech and instant loan app entities which appear to be the subject of ED investigation and "is carrying out the <keyword id="12656622" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kyc/aml" source="Orion">KYC/AML</keyword> checks despite having no legal obligation to do so". "WazirX is like any other intermediary whose platform may have been misused. After an in-depth internal investigation, WazirX noticed that most of the users whose information was sought by ED were already identified as suspicious by WazirX internally and were already blocked in 2020-2021," said the company. WazirX is India's largest crypto exchange and has over 12 million users. Several crypto exchanges are under the ED radar for their alleged involvement in money laundering of around ₹ 10 billion. Late last month, crypto exchange <keyword id="10245463" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="coinswitch-kuber" source="Orion">CoinSwitch Kuber</keyword>'s CEO Ashish Singhal said that the company fully cooperated with the ED officials in <keyword id="6354321" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="bengaluru" source="Orion">Bengaluru</keyword>, after reports surfaced that ED raided its premises over alleged money laundering under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. Singhal said that the company's engagement with the ED was not related to any money laundering inquiry. "Enforcement Directorate-Bengaluru has been engaged with us with respect to functioning of our crypto platforms/exchanges. We are fully cooperating with them," he had said in a tweet thread. A report by McKinsey &amp; Co. that examines the national balance sheets of ten countries representing more than 60 per cent of the world's income. China accounted for almost one-third of gains in global net worth over the past two decades, the report said. "We are now wealthier than we have ever been," Jan Mischke, a partner at the McKinsey Global Institute in Zurich, said in an interview. Net worth worldwide rose to $514 trillion in 2020, from $156 trillion in 2000, according to the study. China accounted for almost one-third of the increase. Its wealth skyrocketed to $120 trillion from a mere $7 trillion in 2000, the year before it joined the World Trade Organization, speeding its economic ascent, the report said. The US, held back by more muted increases in property prices, saw its net worth more than double over the period, to $90 trillion. In both countries -- the world's biggest economies -- more than two-thirds of the wealth is held by the richest 10 per cent of households, and their share has been increasing, the report said. As computed by McKinsey, 68 per cent of global net worth is stored in real estate. The balance is held in such things as infrastructure, machinery and equipment and, to a much lesser extent, so-called intangibles like intellectual property and patents, it added. The portion reserved for Qualified institutional investors (QIB) has been oversubscribed by150 times, non-institutional investors’ portion was reserved 881.96 times and the retail portion was reserved 123.84 times. Overall, the company received bids for 572 crore shares as against 1.75 crore shares that were up for sale. The grey market is currently paying a premium of ₹370 a piece, over and above the issue price range of ₹190-197. Latent View Analytics has raised ₹600 crore through its IPO. An international team of scientists has identified 18 <keyword id="12545062" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mammalian-viruses" source="Orion">mammalian viruses</keyword>, which pose high risk to humans and domestic animals, from China's infamous wet markets. The origins of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, which has so far resulted in 253.6 million cases of infections and 5.11 million deaths, has been linked with a seafood market in Wuhan. China has maintained that the first cases of SARS-CoV-2 likely emerged from animal to human transmission at a wet market in Wuhan. In the study, researchers from China, the US, Belgium and Australia claimed to have unearthed game animals that are commonly hunted or consumed as exotic food in China, and have been potential reservoirs for SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2. The team also examined many species for the first time, some of which have been banned by the Chinese government for trading or artificial breeding since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. They performed an analysis of 1,725 game animals, representing 16 species and five mammalian orders, sampled across China. "From this we identified 71 mammalian viruses, with 45 described for the first time. Eighteen viruses were considered as potentially high risk to humans and domestic animals," said corresponding author Shuo Su from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Nanjing Agricultural University in China. Notably, the team did not identify any SARS-CoV-2-like or SARS-CoV-like sequences, including the Malayan pangolins from which SARS-CoV-2-like viruses have previously been identified, Su said in the study posted on preprint server biorxiv, meaning not yet peer-reviewed. According to researchers, one reason for the lack of pangolin SARS-like viruses could be that previous virus-positive samples were all confiscated by the custom authorities in Guangdong and Guangxi provinces, both of which were characterised by an intensive network of animal smuggling. In contrast, the new samples were obtained from Zhejiang province in eastern China which does not have an international border that would facilitate smuggling, they said. Further, the team found that Civets (Paguma larvata) carried the highest number of potentially high risk viruses. The cat-like carnivores have been known as potential reservoirs for coronavirus. They also identified the transmission of bat coronavirus HKU8 from a bat to a civet, as well as cross-species jumps of coronavirus from bats to hedgehogs and from birds to porcupines. Similarly avian influenza virus H9N2 was also identified in civets and Asian badgers, with the latter displaying respiratory symptoms, as well as cases of likely human-to-wildlife virus transmission. "These data highlight the importance of game animals as potential drivers of disease emergence," the researchers said. Cements stocks like Shree Cements fell after a report indicated that cement companies have dropped plans to hike prices for the month of November. “Cement prices have seen some correction especially in eastern market and in western market there was a hike after Diwali, which has been reversed right now,” added Jain. The top five gainers on the Nifty 50 were all auto stocks after Morgan Stanley said that the chip shortage, which had stalled production for car makers around the world, may be easing finally. A similar commentary from Uttar Pradesh-based electronic products manufacturer Dixon Technologies took the shares higher. <div type="image" title="dixon" height="900" width="1200" msid="87736216" hostid="261"></div> Some of the most traded stocks on the National Stock Exchange ⁠— the largest by volume ⁠— were auto parts makers Mahindra CIE and Suprajit Engineering, and cloud solutions company Tanla Platforms. All three stocks saw nearly ten times the volume of shares traded on an average in the last five days, and all three of them gained over 5% today. Aegis Health and P&amp;G Health hit a 52-week low today. Investors continued to dump shares of IndusInd Bank and Hindalco and both shares are now among the biggest losers on the Nifty 100 index in the last one month.
