The pleas came up for hearing on Wednesday before a division bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Prithviraj Chavan. The court issued notice to the <keyword id="19895344" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Enforcement-Directorate" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Enforcement Directorate" meta.hostid="153" meta.entityid="Enforcement Directorate">Enforcement Directorate</keyword> (ED) and posted the matter for hearing on Thursday. Their petitions challenge ED notices dated September 27 issued to Shetty and Kundra directing them to evict their residential premises here and a farmhouse in Pune within ten days in connection with a money-laundering case linked to an alleged <keyword id="23486542" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bitcoin-fraud" source="keywords">Bitcoin fraud</keyword>. The couple's advocate Prashant Patil said that Shetty and Kundra received the <keyword id="20675198" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="eviction-notices" source="keywords">eviction notices</keyword> only on October 3. He termed the notices arbitrary and illegal and sought them to be quashed. According to the pleas, there is no grave urgency for the petitioners to vacate their premises and that the issuance of such eviction notices was uncalled for. "The petitioners are also seeking relief on humanitarian grounds as the premise in question is their residential premise in which they have been staying with their family of six members for almost two decades," the petitions said. The pleas also sought HC to stay the effect of the eviction notices. As per the pleas, the ED had in 2018 lodged a complaint against one <keyword id="21346793" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="amit-bhardwaj" source="keywords">Amit Bhardwaj</keyword> and others for an alleged Bitcoin fraud and on charges of <keyword id="19899231" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="money-laundering" source="keywords">money laundering</keyword>. Both Shetty and her husband have not been named as accused in the case. The ED, during its probe, had summoned Kundra for questioning on several occasions. Kundra had appeared before the agency after each summons, the pleas said. In April 2024, Shetty and Kundra received a notice based on an order passed by the ED provisionally attaching their assets including their residential premise in Juhu that had been purchased by Kundra's father in 2009. Both Shetty and Kundra submitted their response to the notice. "However, in contravention to the provisions of law, the adjudicating authority confirmed the provisional attachment order on September 18, 2024. This order clearly states that the attachment is confirmed only till the conclusion of trial and is subject to its outcome," the pleas said. "The petitioners (Shetty and Kundra) on October 3 received two notices dated September 27, 2024, directing them to vacate their residential premises and the farmhouse," the petitions said. The petitions said no eviction order/notice can be issued prior to conviction. The pleas added that their residential premise has no connection with the scheduled offence or any proceeds of crime. The petitions further claimed that Kundra had absolutely no connection with the alleged fraud.

The Health Minister presented letters he had written earlier to the LG informing him about these vacancies. He stated that after taking over as the Health Minister of Delhi in March 2023, he wrote his first letter to the LG on April 19, 2023, informing him of a shortage of 292 General Medical Duty Officers (GDMOs) and 234 Specialists in Delhi Government hospitals, and appealed for these vacancies to be filled as soon as possible. No action was taken to fill these vacancies. The inimitable Gulzar, juxtaposes the beauty of the nature with pandemic, advising people to be patient till the time things return to normal. "Aaftaab Uthega To Kirano Se Chhanega Wo/Gehri Zehrili Si Hawaa Mein Roshni Bhar Denga Who…Meethi Hamari Zameen Bimaar Na Ho/Hath Ke Betho Zara Hath Ke Zara Thodi Jagah To Do," sing Vishal and Rekha. (Eds: With K'taka leaders' reax) New Delhi, Mar 8 () Former Union law minister and Congress veteran <keyword id="71054" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hansraj-Bhardwaj">Hansraj Bhardwaj</keyword> died after a cardiac arrest at a hospital here on Sunday evening. He was 83. Bhardwaj breathed his last around 6.30 pm at Max Hospital, Saket, where he was admitted since Wednesday due to kidney-related ailments, his family told . The cremation will take place at <keyword id="8885939" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="nighambodh">Nighambodh</keyword> Ghat on Monday at 4 pm, his son Arun Bhardwaj said. He is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters. Bhardwaj celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary on February 29. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP leader and Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury condoled Bhardwaj's death. "Anguished by the passing away of former minister Shri Hans Raj Bhardwaj," the Prime Minister's Office tweeted quoting Modi. "My thoughts are with his family and well-wishers in this hour of grief. Om Shanti," the tweet said. Prasad recalled his association with Bhardwaj in Parliament. "Deeply condole the sad demise of Shri Hansraj Bhardwaj who for long years served as the Law Minister of India. We were together in the Parliament. May his soul Rest In Peace," Prasad posted on Twitter. CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury remembered the leader as an "encyclopedia" on the Indian judicial system. "Sad news about Shri Hans Raj Bhardwaj ji's demise. Worked with him as an MP when he was a minister &amp; shared the urge to safeguard our constitutional values. He was an encyclopedia on the Indian judicial system. Will miss him," Yechury said in a tweet. Born in Garhi Sampla village in Rohtak district of Haryana, Bhardwaj was a Rajya Sabha member for five terms from April 1982 to June 2009. He was the law minister for 14 years and served under the prime ministership of Rajiv Gandhi, Narasimha Rao and <keyword id="6359397" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="manmohan-singh">Manmohan Singh</keyword>. During his stint as the governor of Karnataka between 2009 and 2014, he sternly dealt with the mining mafia active in the state. It was during Bhardwaj's tenure as law minister that Bofors-accused <keyword id="54989" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ottavio-Quattrocchi">Ottavio Quattrocchi</keyword> was given a clean chit by then UPA government in 2009. Sources said he fell out with Congress party leadership after he became the governor and criticised it. "In his death we lost a good legal expert and administrator. May his soul rest in peace and may God give strength to his family to bear the loss," Yediyurappa said in a condolence message. A tussle between Bhardwaj and Yediyurappa over mining and land scams drew everyone's attention during his second stint as chief minister. Gowda said Bhardwaj will always be remembered for his exceptional service to the nation, while Siddaramaiah recalled him as as a tough man against immoral practices during power struggle. "His contribution to Karnataka during his tenure shall always be remembered. He was tough against immoral practices of power struggle. My deepest condolences to his family members &amp; well-wishers," Siddaramaiah tweeted. The problem is not of non-availability of capable and well-qualified women; it is one of lack of conscious efforts on the part of corporate organizations to nurture and groom women for senior management roles. It is essential to highlight here that comparable number of men and women join the corporate workforce in India every year. So the gender imbalance is not prominent on the lower rungs of the corporate ladder. However, more and more women chose to (or are driven to) opt out as they head up the middle management level. In most cases it is family responsibilities that force them out of the corporate ranks, and also the absence of corporate cultural settings that take into account this factor. 
 We consulted <keyword id="1016048" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rajeev-Bhardwaj">Rajeev Bhardwaj</keyword>, Vice President, Human Resource at <keyword id="155168" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sun-Life-Financial">Sun Life Financial</keyword> on why organizations must work towards having more women in senior management. 
 
It's economic 
Women’s participation in business is not just a gender equality slogan, it makes much economic sense as well. Business acumen and leadership do not come exclusively to men. For every wasted female talent, there is a corresponding economic loss. 
In 2007 research organization Catalyst conducted a comprehensive study on the economic benefits of gender parity and concluded that the Fortune 500 companies which had more female board directors achieved significantly higher financial performance. On a macroeconomic scale, Catalyst also reported recently that countries can radically increase their GDP by augmenting the role of women in the economy. 
 A survey published in the <keyword id="86058" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Harvard-Business-Review">Harvard Business Review</keyword> in 2011 found that managers and colleagues judged women leaders as being better on honesty and integrity scales, in building relationships as well as in taking initiatives. The same survey also concluded that women leaders were better communicators and built better collaborations as compared to male leaders. A series of other studies have pointed to multifarious other benefits including improved financial performance of the organization, greater tilt towards corporate social responsibility and better organizational climate. If you look at it deeply, the beneficial results accrue as a result of greater diversity of minds at play towards a particular objective. Unfortunately, while most of us talk about the need for improving female representation, we do not fully comprehend the benefits that will result from it. This is why most corporate leaderships in India have so far not been able to align long-term organizational goals to ensure gender parity and diversity.

Have long-term diversity objectives 
The culture has to be consciously created, long-term goals prepared and a conscious effort made towards achieving them through multifarious initiatives. Organizations must evaluate the gender situation in their top management and assiduously think about where they want to be on this front in the next five years. 
 
Create a pipeline of women leadership 
Organizations today must make a conscious effort to nurture the talented women employees who show traits of leadership right from an early stage. This includes spotting them early and giving them ample opportunities to grow and learn, involving them in key strategic projects that can give them greater insights, and equip them with the capability to lead the organization. As they move up the corporate ladder, it is essential to institute re-tooling and re-skilling programs for them at each level to ensure they are abreast with all latest developments in the industry. 
 
Make organizations empathetic to women’s needs There are multiple reasons for this including an institutionalized bias and lack of support for women employees who decide to have children. The consequence is that despite being bright and talented, very few women are able to make the transition to top management positions. It is essential to institute greater flexibility and a more empathetic approach to make the workplace more amenable to women. The man responsible for <keyword id="6408230" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="GBMiners">GBMiners</keyword>, the venture which brought about <keyword id="6354947" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="bitcoin">bitcoin</keyword> mining to India, has apparently been arrested for scamming investors out of ₹2,000 crores. That too, within Maharashtra alone. Amit <keyword id="3039" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bhardwaj">Bhardwaj</keyword>, one of the biggest names in the digital currency diaspora, was brought into the country after being in hiding for over a year. His brother, Vivek Bharadwaj was also arrested. This is the first enforcement case investigation report (ECIR) to submitted in India under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in Mumbai. Others included in the ECIR are Ajay Bhardwaj, Rupesh Singh, Hemant Chauhan, Hemant Suryavanshi and, Kaka Ravde. And that’s not even the whole list. Action was taken jointly by the <keyword id="6354335" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india">Reserve Bank of India</keyword> (RBI), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Cybercrime Cell of Pune Police. It’s surprising that the case came to light in the first place, since most the investors were reluctant to come forward, as their investments fell outside the realm for what would strictly be considered to be ‘legal’. In fact, it was Parvendra Singh, a businessman from Nanded, who first filed a complaint and came forward to address the issue. Bhardwaj allegedly used his position as a cryptocurrency entrepreneur to cheat investors out of money using Bitcoin-based Ponzi schemes. Though the figure stated for Maharashtra is ₹2,000 crores, officials told <a href="https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/investigators-get-tough-on-bitcoins-ed-registers-its-first-ecir-1205877-2018-04-06">India Today</a> that the scam could actually be anywhere between ₹5,000 crores and ₹13,000 crores. Using his connections in Bollywood, Bhardwaj got well known faces like Shilpa Shetty, Neha Dhupia and Huma Qureshi to endorse his book, Cryptocurrency for Beginners. Building his reputation from that, he continued to woo middle-class investors into investing using a multi-level marketing (MLM) model. His first foray into the world of bitcoin included launching HighKart, the first bitcoin based online retailer in India. Other than GBMiners, his ventures also include GainBitcoin, MCAP and GB21.

Indian Bitcoin guru arrested for ₹2000 crore ponzi scheme

Modi, recently, promised increased infrastructure spending and jobs training and slashed taxes for companies with a turnover of less than 500 million rupees ($7.4 million), in a bid to boost growth for those hurt by his <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=demonetisation&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">demonetisation</a> drive. 96 % of all registered companies, these firms employ 40 % of Indian workers and vast numbers are based in <keyword id="6357713" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Uttar-Pradesh">Uttar Pradesh</keyword> which goes to the polls this month. 
 "This is a smart move to get rural votes. It's tried to soothe the effects of demonetization," <keyword id="4130423" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="raghbendra-jha">Raghbendra Jha</keyword>, an economics professor at Australian National University, told <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-02-01/modi-reaches-out-to-indians-with-tax-cuts-before-key-state-polls">Bloomberg</a>. 
 According to <keyword id="218357" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Anil-Bhardwaj">Anil Bhardwaj</keyword>, secretary general at the Federation of Indian Micro and Small &amp; Medium Enterprises, the tax cuts will encourage small firms to scale up and hire more people, especially if demand improves. 
 
"How it behaves towards imports of textiles and leather for instance will impact our informal sector, which is very labor intensive. The government of course cannot predict that. But the next best thing is to revive domestic demand and I think this budget addresses that," Bhardwaj said. 
 
Also, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Uttar+Pradesh&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Uttar Pradesh</a> is home to the highest share of rural dwellers -- some 155 million people -- and almost half of these are directly employed in agriculture. Elections will also be held in four other states, including Punjab, where the polls open on Feb. 4. All results will be announced on March 11. 
 "I'd be very surprised if these measures weren't repeated ad infinitum in the prime minister's rallies in months to come. The government's done a great job of laying down a great political foundation from which it can make electoral plays. By 2018 and 2019, a lot of these effects will come into play -- setting the stage for a <keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword> groundswell," <keyword id="4130424" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="saksham-khosla">Saksham Khosla</keyword>, research analyst at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace India, told Bloomberg.
