Before the event goes live SIAM has rolled out an <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> app for people visiting the show. A good move if you ask us, as many people these days have an Android phone with them. They can download the app from the Android App store <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.siam.autoexpo2014&amp;hl=en">here</a>, which will allow them to navigate and explore the grounds with ease. SIAM has integrated the map of the auto show into the app. 
 The app provides all the information one would get from a printed brochure and more. One can see the complete list of <keyword id="20632" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Cars">cars</keyword>, bikes and commercial vehicle exhibitors along with the electric car stalls. SIAM has added the facility to buy show tickets using the app as well. People can search for parking facilities near the halls and shuttle services to the show grounds. 
 Users can also enable push notifications for this app that will send the latest updates from the car and bike makers to the Android device. After the Android App, <keyword id="75489" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="IOS">iOS</keyword> and Windows apps are also being built for their respective phone users too.

At the 12th <keyword id="73154" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Auto-Expo">Auto Expo</keyword>, <keyword id="6355174" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ford">Ford</keyword> has revealed the 2014 version of the fiesta in India. The car has gone under the knife to get modern looks, new in-car technology such as SYNC and will strengthen the mid segment of cars for Ford. Ford has given the car plush interiors with neat mobile inspired dash and leather steering. 
 The car does seem like a comfortable one as far as the seating is concerned. The new <keyword id="67915" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Ford-Fiesta">Ford Fiesta</keyword> has good legroom for both front and rear passengers. Premium upholstery has been used all around the cabin and in no manner does the car look shabby. The exteriors are not bad either. The front looks robust and so does the back. The car will go up against the likes of <keyword id="31353" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Honda-city">Honda City</keyword>. The line-up of the new Ford Fiesta will have 1.5 Litre Petrol and 1.5 Litre Diesel versions. 
 
Ford seemed positive about the car, however this car has not done too well in the Indian market. It will be interesting to see how the consumers adapt to the new version of Fiesta and how Ford markets the vehicle here in India.

The premium bike segment just got hotter. <keyword id="6357453" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Harley-Davidson">Harley Davidson</keyword> has launched a less expensive motorbike from their factory called <keyword id="1933958" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Street-750">Street 750</keyword>, which falls in the entry-level of bikes from the company. Street 750 is priced at an aggressive Rs 4.1 lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi) and is aimed at bikers who do not want to spend too much, yet want the power and performance they desire. 
 
The bike has a liquid cooled V-Twin 749 CC engine and 6 speed constant mesh spur gear transmission. As far as torque is concerned the bike can produce 65 Nm of it @ 4000. The street 750 will have MRF Zapper tyres and the company is busy putting the finishing touches on the bike for the Indian consumer. The bike will be open for booking on March 1, 2014. 
 
Overall, the bike is a stunner and is ready to scorch the Indian roads. At the launch of the Harley Davidson Street 750 in India, Anoop Prakash, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India said, “We believe the new Street 750 will excite a new segment of urban riders in India who will appreciate the attention to detail and opportunity to experience the Harley-Davidson lifestyle at an accessible price point. We will continue to adopt and <keyword id="47916" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="invest">invest</keyword> in strategies that make our products and ownership experience accessible to more enthusiasts and customers in India.”

The academy picks up gamers who are really good at motorsport gaming and bring them to the real world race tracks. The training is hard and racing is harder. Nissan turns regular gamers into hardcore racers in a just few months. 
 This is an untradtional sport as it defies all the most common rules of motorsports and similar activities. The winner from Indian leg will be sent to other countries to participate and win the large bounty there. The iconic British brands, which were bought over by <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> couple of years ago, revealed that they will <keyword id="47916" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="invest">invest</keyword> 3.6 Billion Pounds in the next 15 months in countries like India, China and Brazil. This is good news for the Indian auto sector as some of the cars from camp JLR, like the <keyword id="333546" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Jaguar-XJ">Jaguar XJ</keyword>, will be built here in India. 
 The company wants to expand aggressively and wants to increase their reach. The plan does seem positive as far as emerging markets are concerned. China is one of the biggest economies for the sales of <keyword id="42034" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Jaguar">Jaguar</keyword> and <keyword id="44719" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Land-Rover">Land Rover</keyword> cars, and is contributing a lot as well. In China, JLR has joined hands with Cherry automobiles and is building a new production plant there. The plant will start operations in 2015. 
 
 JLR sold over 2,900 units in India last year and grew over 20%. The company is confident of its leadership (Tata) and is positive that they can learn good things on how to expand further under their guidance.

Auto Expo: Cars That Promise To Be Showstoppers

India's leading car manufacturer, <keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> is bullish about the new Maruti Ciaz - its latest mid-sized sedan for the country. Maruti had unveiled the concept version of the Ciaz earlier this year at the 2014 <keyword id="73154" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Auto-Expo">Auto Expo</keyword> and as these first undisguised pictures suggest the production version of the Maruti <keyword id="6911" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="suzuki">Suzuki</keyword> Ciaz looks like a promising sedan.
 The company has been struggling to have a successful run with its sedan models above the <keyword id="484565" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Dzire">Maruti DZire</keyword>, while arch rival <keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword> has hit the sweet spot with Indian car buyers with its sedans like the Hyundai Verna and Hyundai Elantra. But, this time around Maruti Suzuki is taking no chances as the Ciaz appears to have most things working in its favour as of now.

	Recently, a bunch of production ready Maruti Suzuki Ciaz were caught resting their heels in the company's Manesar manufacturing facility in Haryana. The company is working on a war footing to meet the scheduled launch of the Ciaz by second half of September 2014.
 Design wise the new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz strikes a good balance between the last generation SX4 and the Kizashi luxury sedan. The four slat chrome grille features a large Suzuki logo, while the headlight design is very distinct in the segment and is expected to feature projector lamps as standard fitment. The multi-layered bootlid design and shape of the taillight makes the Ciaz resemble the new <keyword id="31353" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Honda-city">Honda City</keyword>'s rear end quite a bit.

	The interiors are inspired by the more premium Maruti Kizashi and would feature a two-tone dashboard with integrated entertainment system, steering wheel mounted audio controls, electric OVRMs and AC vents even for rear seat passengers among others.

	Optional features could include 5-inch display for the infotainment system, reverse parking camera, ABS, 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control air-conditioning, additional airbags and push button start to name a few.
 Pricing of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz would be on par to the <keyword id="20630" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Honda">Honda</keyword> City and Hyundai Verna and is expected to start from Rs 7.5 lakh onwards

<keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword> is one of the first to showcase a new car that is coming to India and will be available for sale. Today at <keyword id="73154" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Auto-Expo">Auto Expo</keyword>, which is being held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Hyundai unveiled the new <keyword id="141245" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Santa-Fe">Santa Fe</keyword> powered by Hyundai’s third generation of 2.2L CRDi engine. The engine supplies 197PS@3,800 RPM maximum power. 
 At the first glance the car does look nice and seems like a car one would want to take for ride on the harsh Indian roads. It has a sporty front and is built on the fluidic design that can be seen on other Hyundai cars as well. The <keyword id="459" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="price">price</keyword> of the car starts from 26.3 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India and it will be available in 5 colour variations. Features include Flex Steer with 3 modes, Advanced Traction Cornering Control, rear door manual curtain, 6 air bags around the cabin and vehicle stability management. 
 This is a key <keyword id="6356110" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="launch">launch</keyword> by the company that will fortify its position in the SUV segment where the company was not doing so great. Auto Expo: Hyundai Brings The New Santa Fe To India

The show doors of <keyword id="73154" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Auto-Expo">Auto Expo</keyword> 2014 are about to open and car manufacturer’s are queuing up to reveal some of their designs. Ford yesterday showcased Figo concept car, which is likely to be in the ‘B’ segment of Indian cars that comprise of sub-four-meter designs. Figo concept is Ford’s vision for a fresh approach to the compact car segment, which has more room inside with a decent sized boot. 
 The first looks of the car a very desirable. However, there might be minor changes when the final version comes out. Figo concept could be the answer Ford was searching for, for a solid car in the mid segment of passenger vehicles. To take on its competitors it will be priced at par with the <keyword id="20630" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Honda">Honda</keyword> Amaze and <keyword id="103029" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Maruti-Swift">Maruti Swift</keyword> Dzire. The company did not reveal too much of the specifications, however said that it will have cutting edge technology inside and the latest engine from Ford’s factories. It will be manufactured in the Gujarat facilities of <keyword id="106216" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ford-India">Ford India</keyword> and should be available in 2015.

<keyword id="52525" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Triumph">Triumph</keyword> has shifted gears and entered the <keyword id="47445" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="Indian-market">Indian market</keyword> with a bang. They have brought a large line-up of motorcycles to India under classic, superbikes, tourer and <keyword id="135180" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Cruiser">cruiser</keyword> category. The Range starts from Rs 5.7 Lakhs and goes upto 20 Lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi). The queue includes popular bikes from their factories such as the <keyword id="1954905" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rocket-III">Rocket III</keyword> roadster, Thruxton and <keyword id="1785489" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Bonneville">Bonneville</keyword>. 
 
The company has plans to build low-end 250 CC motorcycles for emerging markets such as India and China, and in a year or two’s time we would be able to see them on the Indian tarmac. Triumph made quite a buzz at the 2012 Auto-Expo and today after almost two years they have fulfilled their promise to be on the India roads. 
 A market leader such as Triumph motorcycles coming to India should infuse new life into the ailing bikes segment, which has being going through a period of change. With the launch, the first dealership from the <keyword id="6355332" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="British">British</keyword> bike maker will go live in Bangalore. 
 The competition in the premium-end motorbike segment just got hot and all eyes will be on the 2014 <keyword id="106984" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="edition">edition</keyword> of auto-expo to see how other bike makers respond, and who brings what to the Indian roads.
