<keyword id="4127459" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="electoral-bonds" source="Orion">Electoral bonds</keyword> worth Rs 3,429.56 crore were redeemed by parties in <keyword id="7282869" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="2019-20" source="Orion">2019-20</keyword>, and 87.29 per cent of this was received by four national parties - the <keyword id="14666" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bjp" source="Orion">BJP</keyword>, <keyword id="1575" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="congress" source="Orion">Congress</keyword>, TMC and the NCP, poll rights group Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) said. In a new report, the ADR said the BJP declared a total income of Rs 3,623.28 crore during the financial year 2019-20, but spent only 45.57 per cent (Rs 1,651.022 crore) of it. The Congress' total income in 2019-20 was Rs 682.21 crore. The party spent Rs 998.158 crore, which exceeds its income for that year by 46.31 per cent, it said. The TMC declared a total income of Rs 143.676 crore during FY 2019-20, and spent Rs 107.277 crore (74.67 per cent), the <keyword id="3825940" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="adr-report" source="Orion">ADR report</keyword> added. "As per the data shared by SBI in response to ADR's RTI application, electoral bonds worth Rs 3,429.5586 crore were redeemed by parties in FY 2019-20. Of this, 87.29 per cent was received by four national parties - BJP, INC, AITC &amp; NCP," it said. "The total amount of electoral bonds declared by national and regional parties for FY 2019-20 so far is Rs 3,441.324 crore. The difference in the amount declared by political parties and the data on EBs redeemed received from SBI could be due to the manner in which parties report in their audit report," the ADR said. "Seven national parties (BJP, Congress, CPM, NCP, BSP, AITC and CPI) have declared a total income of Rs 4,758.206 crore, collected from all over India," it said. The poll rights body said national parties that received the maximum income from donations or contributions include the BJP (Rs 3,427.775 crore), the Congress (Rs 469.386 crore), AITC (Rs 108.548 crore), CPM (Rs 93.017 crore) and CPI (Rs 3.024 crore). "Four national parties namely BJP, INC, AITC and NCP collected 62.92 per cent (Rs 2,993.826 cr) of their total income from donations through electoral bonds for FY 2019-20. BJP received donations through electoral bonds worth Rs 2,555.0001 crore, Congress received Rs 317.861 crore, AITC received Rs 100.4646 crore and NCP received Rs 20.50 crore," the report said. The report added that the most common and popular items of expenditure for national parties in FY 2019-20 were election expenses or general propaganda and administrative or general expenses. It also said that between 2018-19 and 2019-20, the BJP's income increased by 50.34 per cent (Rs 1,213.20 crore) from Rs 2,410.08 crore to Rs 3,623.28 crore. The Congress's income decreased by 25.69 per cent (Rs 235.82 crore) from Rs 918.03 crore during 2018-19 to Rs 682.21 crore during 2019-20. "Between FY 2018-19 and 2019-20, the highest percentage increase in income was declared by the NCP of 68.77 per cent (Rs 34.873 crore) from Rs 50.71 crore during FY 2018-19 to Rs 85.583 crore during FY 2019-20," it said. Electoral bonds worth over ₹3,400 crore redeemed by parties in 2019-20, says ADR report

Mumbai, Feb 4 () German company Henkel on Tuesday said it will invest 50 million euro for brownfield expansion activities in the adhesives business in India over the next five years.
It announced the inauguration of a Rs 400 crore or 50 million euro facility at Kurkumbh near Pune on Tuesday built over the last four years.
"What we have launched is phase one and two of the facility, we will be doing phase three and four for sure. At the end of five years, our cumulative investments at the facility will be Euro 100 million," its board member and executive Vice President of Henkel Adhesive Technologies, Jan-Dirk Auris told reporters here.
The facility at Kurkumbh, the seventh manufacturing unit in India, is spread over 25 acres land and will be focused on making adhesives primarily for the Indian market and there will also be a bit of exports, its president for India, Shilip Kumar said.
A company executive explained that there is extra land available within the same plot for expansion and it is also buying a 6.6 acre parcel located next to it for the expansion.
India is the third largest among the emerging markets for the USD 9-billion adhesives business globally, and the company said that in 2015, its domestic turnover had touched Rs 1,600 crore.
Till now, the company has invested up to 400 million euro in India since entering the country in 1997, Auris said, adding that it employs close to 1,000 people.
Kumar said the new facility employs 320 people directly and indirectly.
He said the addressable market opportunity in India, where competes with global majors like 3M, is over USD 1 billion per annum.
The biggest revenue segment is automobiles, followed by the packaging industry, he said, adding that the electronics segment is also catching up on sales. AA BAL

<keyword id="6354756" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="BCCI">BCCI</keyword> is set to suffer a financial loss to the tune of Rs 1600 crore if Lodha Panel's recommendations on curtailing the advertisement breaks during the matches is implemented. 

	It is feared that in the wake of loss of revenue not only the smooth functioning of country's richest sporting body will be hit but also the development of junior cricket in the country. 

	 
	According to BCCI balance sheet, the operative revenue currently is approximately Rs 2000 crore, a large chunk of which comes from broadcasting rights and advertisement revenues. 
 

	But if Lodha Panel recommendation, which wants the advertisements only during "lunch, tea or drinks break", then it would come down to Rs 400 crore. 
 According to a reliable source in the board, the <keyword id="421566" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Star-Sports">Star Sports</keyword>, which has the broadcasting rights of BCCI's matches, currently gives Rs 43 crore per match and such a rule could see BCCI earning as less as Rs 8-10 crore per match. 

	"Yes, it is true that we are facing a situation which could lead to a revenue loss of Rs 1600 crore. Star Sports will renegotiate their deal and may be pay us only 20-25 percent of the amount that we get currently per match. Ditto for IPL broadcasters," a source in the know of things told on conditions of anonymity. 
 

	The far-reaching implication of this could mean that during India's away tours, the hosts countries such as England, New Zealand or Australia will earn more than India out of the broadcast deals. 
 

	According to insiders, there are chances that BCCI's age-group structure, which is one of the most robust in world cricket, will be badly hit if this recommendation comes to effect. 
 

	BCCI spends around Rs 750 crore (approx) on subsidies to state associations, Rs 400-450 crore (approx) on match-fees and allowances of players right from U-16 to the senior teams. 
 Save this, another Rs 350 crore (approx) is spent to conduct around 2000 BCCI matches from U-16, U-19, U-22 to <keyword id="3028" type="SPORT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ranji-trophy">Ranji Trophy</keyword> across the country. 

	The former first-class cricketers and international cricketers get monthly pension for which another Rs 25 crore is spent by the board. 
 

	When the BCCI source was asked about the implications of the possible hit in revenue structure, he replied, "The biggest hit could be the age-group matches, U-16, U-19s and the various camps that are organised. The money generated through IPL and international broadcasting rights is used for development of junior cricket which will not be possible then."

Ahmedabad, Jun 16 () Honouring the Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani's appeal to support MSMEs hit by coronavirus-induced lockdown, nationalised banks in the state disbursed loans worth over Rs 2,400 crore in the last 15 days. Out of total 89,767 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) which had applied for loans during this two weeks time, almost 97 per cent or 87,834 applications were approved by the banks, said a release by the Gujarat government on Tuesday. While loans worth Rs 5,373 crore has been approved for these 87,834 applicants, Rs 2,428 crore has already been disbursed to 31,000 of these MSMEs in the last 15 days, the release said. Earlier on May 30, Rupani chaired a virtual meeting through video conferencing facility with bank officials and industry representatives to discuss ways to help MSME units hit by the lockdown. As per a rough estimate, Gujarat has around 33 lakh MSME units providing employment to 1.5 crore people, said the release. Honouring Rupani's appeal, nationalised banks disbursed Rs 2,428 crore in the last 15 days, the release said, adding that some private banks have also come forward to provide loans to the MSME units. To expand pan-India <keyword id="604145" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="3G-network">3G network</keyword>, <keyword id="6354287" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bharti-Airtel">Bharti Airtel</keyword> will invest $1 billion (Rs 6,400 crore) in this financial year. This move will spread its network in new as well as existing circles and will also deploy <keyword id="2926443" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Data-spectrum">data spectrum</keyword>. 

	"Airtel will roll out 3G networks aggressively over the first six months (of this financial year) as it has acquired additional 3G airwaves in many circles to plug coverage gaps," a person familiar with the matter told the Economic Times.
 <keyword id="2062234" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Sunil-Bharti-Mittal-led">Sunil Bharti Mittal-led</keyword> Bharti Airtel will take a decision over investing more funds to expand 3G network by September end after getting a fix on whether revenue growth has met the target, said a second person. 

	"We have no comments and as a policy do not give service-specific capex details," a spokesman said in an e-mailed response to ET's queries on 3G-related investment. 
 India's No. 1 mobile carrier will roll out 3G networks over the first six months and "would look at upfronting this capex in the first half " itself, <keyword id="521074" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Gopal-Vittal">Gopal Vittal</keyword>, managing director &amp; CEO for India &amp; <keyword id="52011" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="South-Asia">South Asia</keyword>, had said earlier. Meanwhile, the proportion of its 3G sites increased to 33.3% of the total in the quarter ended March 2015, from 22.6% compared to last year, brokerage <keyword id="6365707" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="UBS">UBS</keyword> wrote in a recent report. 

	Airtel's 3G drive comes as widespread adoption of 4G is still some time away. Industry experts believe a key reason is creation of a robust, pan-India fallback data services option since 4G coverage is likely to be patchy over the next six months or more and confined. 
 

	UBS said in its report that Airtel's 4G rollout could play second fiddle to 3G in absence of compatible devices. "We believe 3G will meet the mass market's data needs in India, given the wide gap between the 3G and 4G ecosystems," UBS said.

Airtel to invest Rs 6,400 crore to expand 3G services

<keyword id="6389755" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="foreign-portfolio-investors" source="Orion">Foreign Portfolio Investors</keyword> (FPIs) have infused about Rs 12,400 crore into the Indian debt markets in November so far, making it the highest <keyword id="45422" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="inflow" source="Orion">inflow</keyword> in more than two years, on attractive yields offered by the country's debt. The inclusion of Indian G-Sec in the JP Morgan Government Bond Index Emerging Markets has spurred foreign fund participation in the Indian bond markets, market experts said. FPIs have been bullish on Indian debt since the beginning of 2023 and have invested throughout the year, except March, when they had pulled out Rs 2,505 crore, data with the depositories showed. With the latest inflow, the <keyword id="2609447" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="net-investment" source="Orion">net investment</keyword> by FPIs into debt reached Rs 47,900 crore so far this calendar year. According to the data, overseas investors put in a net amount of Rs 12,400 crore into the <keyword id="144818" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="debt-market" source="Orion">debt market</keyword> this month (till November 27). This was the highest inflow since September 2021, when they had poured Rs 12,804 crore. This came following a net investment of Rs 6,382 crore in October. Indian debt is relatively attractive compared to debt in other emerging markets, and it offers a relatively high <keyword id="6355374" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="yield" source="Orion">yield</keyword> compared to debt in developed markets, Bhuvan Rustagi, COO and Co-Founder, of Per Annum and Lendbox, said. Apart from equities, FPIs pumped in a net amount of Rs 378 crore in the equity markets during the period under review. This came after FPIs dumped equities worth Rs 24,548 crore in October and Rs 14,767 crore in September. "The better-than-expected decline in inflation in the US around mid-October has given the market confidence to assume that the Fed is done with a rate hike. Consequently, the US bond yields have declined sharply with the 10-year benchmark bond yield correcting from 5 per cent in mid-October to 4.4 per cent now. This has forced the FPIs to slow down their selling," V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services, said. Overall, the cumulative trend for 2023 remains healthy, with FPIs pouring in Rs 96,340 crore so far this calendar year.

FPIs investment in debt market hits 2-yr high at Rs 12,400 crore in Nov

At a time when <keyword id="46431" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="India-Inc">India Inc</keyword> is busy looking at the profit graph, <keyword id="6354512" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Infosys">Infosys</keyword> has undertaken a gigantic step to save the environment. In sync with PM Modi’s dream to see one lakh MW of solar capacity in India, Infosys will spend Rs 400 crore over the next 4 years to achieve carbon-neutrality commuting and travel by its nearly 1.8 lakh employees and in doing so deepen its commitment to sustainability. 
 As per a news report in <keyword id="77091" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="The-Economic-Times">The Economic Times</keyword>, in the past three years, Infosys has spent about $50 million (Rs 320 crore) retrofitting its equipment such as lighting, air-conditioning, power, etc. 
 
Infosys will spend Rs 70 crore this year on green initiatives including installing solar projects for rural electrification, biogas plants and distribution of smokeless cook-stoves in villages, besides afforestation. 
 "These will benefit communities outside of the company. Our programmes are in sync with the guidelines issued by various international agencies, including the <keyword id="6355833" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="united-nations">United Nations</keyword>. These projects will have the maximum social impact, and are subject to audit by international agencies," Infosys <keyword id="192405" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="executive-vice-president">executive vice-president</keyword> <keyword id="350389" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ramadas-Kamath">Ramadas Kamath</keyword> told the financial daily. 
 
"The buildings built after 2008 are all green structures complying with the highest sustainability standards. We are also implementing zero waste to landfill, and rainwater harvesting," Kamath added. 
 However, Infosys’ <keyword id="45171" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="VP">VP</keyword> believes achieving 100% renewable energy in India is difficult because of regulations and red tapism in the states of India. 
 “Only in Karnataka do we have a stable, long-term policy with ease of wheeling and banking, open access and project implementation. The <keyword id="71" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Prime-Minister">prime minister</keyword> wants to see one lakh MW of solar capacity in India, but this will remain a pipedream if states don't come up with proactive policies," he added. 
 
Infosys restructuring top 200 customer accounts 
 The <keyword id="6354321" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bengaluru">Bengaluru</keyword> based software exporter is in its process of revamping the structure of its top 200 customer accounts. Aiming an ambitious $20-billion (Rs 1.27 lakh crore) revenue target in five years, Infosys would pair senior partners with sales leaders . 
 As per a news report by the Economic Times, the <keyword id="24211" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="chief-executive">Chief executive</keyword> <keyword id="6369763" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vishal-Sikka">Vishal Sikka</keyword> also said his office will directly oversee the top 15 accounts. 
 
The company is also in the process of overhauling its compensation structure for sales and delivery executives to ensure higher incremental revenue, or the additional revenue generated in a year. 
 
Under the new structure, India's second-largest software exporter will assign a 'client partner' to its top 200 customer accounts, who will have equal responsibility along with the account managers of those accounts. 
 Infosys' top 100 customers include Fortune-500 companies such as <keyword id="6374849" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bank-of-America">Bank of America</keyword> and <keyword id="6354427" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Apple">Apple</keyword>.
