This is not the facelifted version of the EcoSport that was unveiled in Brasil recently. This is the existing model on sale in India, but gets a black roof and new funkier alloy wheels. Customers will get Apollo Alnac 4G 205/50 R17 tyres instead of the 16-inch wheels on the other regular variants.
There are some new additions in the cabin of the car as well. The most evident change comes in the form of an 8-inch touch screen system, which sits in place of the earlier small display on top of the dashboard. This system offers audio and video playback, satellite navigation and comes paired to the rear view camera. Then there is the addition of cruise control, which is not available in any of the other variants.
The EcoSport Platinum Edition is offered in both petrol and diesel variants. However, it is available only in the manual variants and 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine and 1.5-litre TDCi diesel motor configurations.
Many existing Ford EcoSport customers wished for a touch screen system and cruise control. The carmaker will now offer prospective buyers these features along with a unique look over the standard compact SUV.
