NH 44, a highway themed restaurant at
Rajouri Garden in
West Delhi is the place where all the action is happening. A brain child of
Udit Bagga and
Udit Bhasin, this restaurant’s menu lists out handpicked recipes from the places the actual
National Highway no 44 passes through. In reality, NH 44 travels from
Kashmir to
Kannyakumari covering almost 3,745 km. There are 11 states that the highway connects. And so does the restaurant. From
Galouti Kebabs of Jammu and Kashmir, Dhoklas of
Gujarat, Dal-bati-churma of
Rajasthan to Goan Fish curry and
Dhansak from
Maharashtra, the restaurant goes deep into the gastronomic culture of each region. While apparently it looks like just another restaurant in Delhi, you can actually trace the authenticity of variety of flavours, which is quite difficult to do so.
