Infosys, which is India's second largest software exporter, has posted strong results for four quarters straight, because of which it has handed out an average wage hike of about 6 to 12% for all its offshore employees. On-site employees, on the other hand, were awarded about 2% of average hikes. Top performers, on the other hand, will get above-average hikes.
Infosys CEO
Vishal Sikka told investors said that FY 2015-16 had been good, and that they were on the edge of achieving industry leading growth in this fiscal.
Last year, the average wage hikes at Infosys were of about 6.5%, following a disappointing year for the company with a revenue growth of about 7%.
An average wage increase of 6 to 12% from Infosys could prove to be standard for salary hikes across the $160-billion IT industry of India, making companies like TCS and Wipro following suit.
